Persona 5 Royal8
May 10, 2025
The shiniest, most impressive RPG I've played in ages. It's not just a straight port of Persona 5, either; it's a beefy overhaul.

Rain World10
May 10, 2025
The best game ever made. To put it bluntly, the reason for the low critic score is due to the lack of respect on the part of the critics. They don't want to meaningfully engage with the game on its own terms. The lack of exposition and context are precisely what make it excellent. It's a brilliant piece of experimental game design that is wholly unique. It's the sort of game that's best absorbed slowly, with lots of reflection and conversation with others who have also played it. That is, if you don't immediately hate it. I suspect a lot of people will initially not get it. But for those of us who do get it, Rain World is an exceptional game. There's a huge variety of playstyles and strategies available to you, which you can tailor to your own unique playstyle. The game also allows you to do what you want when you want, which I find very refreshing in a genre which too often has linear progression and handholding. This game rewards curiosity, which is something that is sadly very rare in today's games.

Fate/stay night REMASTERED8

A tale of abundance, a tale of love. A story of what one young man will do for his love, or at least what he is willing to become in order to protect her. What would you sacrifice in order to have true love, for what would you endure to see it?

Wonderful Everyday Down the Rabbit-Hole is a literary masterpiece that uses the common tropes of hentai and otaku manga to explore the psychological effects of loneliness.

The House in Fata Morgana - Dreams of the Revenants Edition -10
May 9, 2025
Look, it's already been review bombed to hell by people that don't think it's a "real game", and I don't think it's possible to reach those people. Instead of taking it for what it is, they have chosen to arbitrarily decide that this is bad because it doesn't fit their preconceived notions. Fata Morgana is a legendary, epic Japanese masterpiece, and those of us who don't have their heads up their ass can see it. It has issues, yes, but the story and the presentation make up for those. I'd say Fata Morgana is one of my favourite games of all time. The fact that this is getting review bombed means that people are not looking for games that are amazing and unique, they want the same safe, cliched story with boring, generic characters. I can only hope that the team behind this game will look past all this negativity and see that people like us do exist, that there are people out there who truly want a game like this to succeed, to not give up.

Emptiness encapsulated on a PS4 disc. Yeah, it's a highly unique action game with a story only a video game could tell. The end left me in tears, definitely one of the best narratives in gaming.

Fallout: New Vegas10

Sets the bar for RPGs in the 2010s. Excellent combat and story, the dialogue is wonderfully immersive (with Fallout's signature darkly comedic sensibilities), you won't find any other Bethesda game that feels this immersive to play.
