Goodbye Christopher Robin8
Apr 22, 2018
I saw this on the plane. When I think of movies, I also remind myself that movies serve different purposes; be it entertain through humour, action, suspense or story telling, movies are here to capture our hearts, minds and fascination, hopefully a sprinkling of all things. As a kid, I was very fond of Winnie the Pooh and his gang of friends, so selecting this movie was out of curiousity and interest in the how/how it came about. I really enjoyed the story, it's ups and downs, the character development and how touching each phase of the movie and story is laid out. For me, an 8 is very high in my ranking system. Really enjoyed the movie and the story. In all it was quite moving and touching as well.

Thor: Ragnarok7
Nov 5, 2017
I didn't think this would be a good Thor movie, there isn't much story line or character development. Just lots of witty banter, some humour and one liners, but of course I'm giving it a 7 because I was still entertained. Wish I could give it a 6.5 and not a 7. It's okay that I went to see it with friends to check out the hooplah, but really, I didn't need to.

I don't quite want to give it an 7, but it's more than a 6, so I've decided to give it a 7. Not sure how that helps, but I did enjoy the movie. The characters are believable, you want to get behind them and you feel like the struggle they're facing is genuine. Beautifully done and I feel like it brought out some interesting subtleties of that war time that perhaps were no as well revealed or discussed in past.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story5
Dec 21, 2016
While Rogue One stands on its own as a movie, it's storyline is somewhat Hollywood-ized and not very unique. Perhaps using Star Wars as a theme it mixes the tomfoolery of Guardians of the Galaxy with some elements of Expendables (yikes!) last ditch efforts to bring to you an interesting portion of the overall Star Wars storyline. As a movie goer, my expectations were lowered due to the reboot/rehash nature of Force Awakens, but having watched it now, I'm quite indifferent as to if it is something I would watch again. It was nice to know what they were thinking I suppose, but as a movie itself, I think it was merely ho hum and 5/6 out of 10 at best.
