Set in a dark but interesting world, with well thought-out game-mechanics in the form of the cover-system, sprint, melee, reload bonus etc, this is a good overall game.

The game features an excellent and very original idea, that there is over 20 000 items you can spawn into the level just by typing them. However, poor controls, uninteresting levels and the fact that most objects don't function the way they should, or atleast could, prevents this game from reaching a higher score.

A great game, along with Shogun 2 the best of the Total War series. What's unique about this game compared with the rest of the series is that it is actually quite balanced.

Grand Theft Auto IV6
Jan 21, 2012
A highly over-rated game. It is very clear that Rockstar developed this as a console title, because on PC it is very unoptimized, it requires more from your computer to max than many high-end titles released today, but not looking nearly as good. The combat and driving of the game is also very mediocre and the story uninteresting. It is also restricted to the incredibly dumb Games for Windows Live service, even if you buy from steam. That said, it can still be very fun for short periods of time when trolling around in multiplayer with friends.

Apart from a few minigames, this game is so incredibly boring! And it is also so damn slow, just 1 turn takes several times longer than it should because of all the unnecessary in-game tips you get from the **** host, who has to explain every minigame in detail over and over.

Hah! It is hard to think of another game that is more boring than this one. Even when you are playing it, the game suggests between minigames that you should perhaps take a break and relax. While it does so for health reasons, I would gladly do it just because it is so plain stupid and frustrating.

Mario Kart Wii5
Jan 21, 2012
Nothing new except for the adding of the mediocre controls. The game is also very ugly when you play it in split-screen (each mini-screen is really low-res), and below average for singleplayer. There isn't much emphasize on actual driving, and the last player always gets the best items, meaning that if you lead the race for the first lap you'll eventually be hit by an automatic homing-shell and the rest will catch up. As with most nintendo games it is to dumb down.

Wii Sports Resort4
Jan 21, 2012
This how Wii Sports should have been to start with, but instead you have to pay extra for the dumb wiimote+ thing that should have been implemented in the wiimote back in 2006. There is more content than in the original, and the controls finally works. The price is what brings it down, and there isn't really much depth in the game once you have played for a few mediocre hours.

Except for that it is free, there isn't really anything great about this game. Its a tech demo, because there isn't really that fun, nor is there much content. The controls are awkward, slow and imprecise and none of the minigames emphasizes on skill at all (the controls aren't exact enough for skill to play a role anyhow). Overall, this is a real dumb game.

A nice game, with controls and visuals that suit the DS well. The boring part about it though is that is too easy, suppose its target audience is kids around 7-8 years old, because nearly every puzzle has an obvious solution. Also, the story is a joke (unless you are about 7-8 years old or younger...).

A fun game, with a long lifetime considering how the game changes over time with the ingame clock. What it lacks though is content. The world is very, very small, but the regular events, large amount of items and neighbours, and other random occurring stuff keeps it interesting. The co-op play is quite fun aswell.

A very well balanced, fast-paced RTS game with a whole lot of depth. Too bad that the multiplayer side of the game focuses so much on remembering build orders and multitasking, instead of real strategy. The singleplayer campaign is quite fun too, mostly because of the variations in the map design. Overall, I'd say that the game is more fun to watch than to play though.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition7
Jan 20, 2012
The game features a very interesting main storyline and an immersive world, though it can hardly be compared to the mighty sequel. It is worth playing through it if you are interested in the much better Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

Sid Meier's Civilization V8
Jan 20, 2012
A fun game with lots of replay value. The main things I dont' like about it is the overly aggressive AI. Your ally from the last 100 turns could just choose to attack you over nothing because you might be a threat considering you share borders. The game has quite a good balance between accessibility and depth, but I'd like to have more depth in combat, while it is still a vast improvement over previous iterations.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim8
Jan 20, 2012
A fun game with lots of things to do. However, the world doesn't feel very immersive mainly due to the ai. People you just spoke with will forget you in an instant and tell you something generic, such as they took an arrow to the knee or that you shouldn't steal from them. Combat is dull and ultimately depends on the number of health potions you've brought or the level of your stats. Fast travel removes the excitement of exploration, but traveling is ineffective if you don't use it. Dispite having the choice of compainions, the world feels really lonely and there isn't really any characters with a lot of personality (especially guards). It still gets a 8 out of 10 because of the sheer amount of content.

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad7
Jan 20, 2012
A refreshing FPS, very unlike say COD & BF. Aiming and spotting enemies is much more difficult, and each wound inflicted much deadlier. While it lacks a lot of polish and it somewhat buggy, it is still quite fun overall. What I really don't like about it though is that most multiplayer servers is over-populated with dumb bots, and it is really difficult to find a server with only human players. When I play multiplayer, it is because I want to play with other people, the increadibly dumb & boring bots should have been restricted to the uninteresting singleplayer part of the game. Also, the maps are often to narrow, and I was dissapointed that there were no real Conquest mode a la Battlefield, the game modes in the game are quite boring. The realism and gameplay aspects of this game is great, but the content is not.

Battlefield 38
Jan 19, 2012
A great overall game, with superb visuals and sound. The recoil and feel of weapons along with the animation is also perhaps the best up to date in any multiplayer FPS I've played. However, the mainstreaming (read: CODilization) of the series is annyoing, there are too many similar uninteresting weapons, no mod support, very few maps, players have too much health, minimap shows firing enemies (even in hardcore). Would have been interesting if they added a health system similar to Red Orchestra 2. And the series hasn't really evolved lately, it looks and plays better then ever before, but it is basically the same sort of content that was back in 1942, 64 player conquest maps (altough TDM & SQM is also fun). There is so much room for creativity, but no, BF3 is just BF2 streamlined and made prettier.

This is a very unique WWII game, and a very unique strategy game aswell for that matter. Unlike other RTS games, such as Starcraft, the game focuses heavily on real strategy (instead of multi-tasking, base building and the studying of stats) aswell aas deception. My problem with it however, is partly the lack of content (few maps, worthless singleplayer etc), but mainly how unbalanced the game is, often it is just about building the most amount of tanks, back it up with some artillery and charge the enemy. Deception and planning doesn't really make that much difference, atleast not in the games I've played. A mediocre game overall.

Dec 22, 2011
The game builds onto the brilliant idea introduced in the first game, the portal gun, and finds new creative ways of using it. Instead of being as short as the original game, Portal 2 has about the same length as Half Life 2, and it is fun as hell along the whole way. An excellent game!

A great overall game, perhaps a little short when you remove the linear planet exploration side-quests. The combat, which has no re-loadable weapons but instead an overheating-system (featured on heavy machine guns in many other shooters) was refreshing.

Magicka7
Dec 21, 2011
A hilarious game, with a very creative and well implemented magic-casting-system. The story is fun and humorous but also short. In multiplayer this game is insane when everyone runs around "accidentally" teamkilling and trying their best at remembering a certain spell when surrounded by mobs. One thing I do not like about the game is the isometric viewpoint, which feels very limited in multiplayer. On the other hand, the game is very cheap and is easily worth the money.

While it was not as good as I hoped it would be, this is still quite a game. This is essentially the Advance Wars series perfected. In terms of gameplay, it is not such a major difference, but all the details are nailed and it is easily the best balanced game in the series, and the best turn based strategy game ever made, for that matter. Excellent TF2 inspired graphics. That is the only positive thing I can say about this game. The game is terribly unbalanced, and simple stupid design choices such as that you are restricted to a single class through the whole game, a single nation for that matter, is just so stupid. And the matchmaking is terrible, you sometimes end up in 3 vs 8 matches, because you are restricted to a single side per each character.

Dec 21, 2011
A great game, with a long singleplayer campaign and detailed battles. Personally I think it is very unbalanced however, since samurai - who are trained from birth into accepting death - still flee easily when outnumbered. I really do not like the way the morale system is balanced, or the pathfinding for units either, for that matter. Also, archers and cavalry are very weak and naval battles are slow as hell. As a whole the game isn't that bad though.

Minecraft is a very original game, which is very easy to learn but still has alot of depth when it comes to building. After playing it for a few hours however, you start to wonder why you should build anything. There is no real goal, and in singleplayer is gets boring very quickly. Instead of building useless world in minecraft you could just aswell build a real map for some game (TF2 for example) and upload it. When it comes to multiplayer minecraft becomes much better since you constantly show your progress to others, but it still feels as a major waste of time.

Dec 21, 2011
CS is, along with quake, the very definition of old school FPS and is quite unique compared with the majority of shooters released today. What I don't like about it is the core gameplay, the way you aim - there is only hipfire and no weapon can spray even remotely accurately (which redenders the LMG m249 completely useless). The good things about however are that there is a strong community around it, and there are lots of user created maps and game modes, such as gun game, surf or mini game.

Played this game for the first time this year (2011), and I was positively surprised by it, altough I knew how much people like it. The graphics are dull today, but I imagine perhaps the best '98 had to offer. Despite that it is 13 years after release they still work fine, and gameplay is great aswell. The best thing about the game however is the way it tells the story, constantly through the eyes of the players with no cut-scenes, and that said it is quite an interesting story aswell.

This game is so overrated in my opinion. Yes, the world is very open, and yes, there is lots of things to do. However, the world is very bleak, everything is either grey, brown or yellow (except for the interface, which is green). You might say that it fits the lore, and I say that it does not. Look at Chernobyl for example, despite the nuclear incident, grass has overgrown the entire area! Why is there no vegetation in the world, when plants can deal with radiation several times better than humans? The game has alot of content, but that is very unvaried content and the game is very ugly. They could have been alot more creative with the setting.

Deer Hunter 20057
Dec 21, 2011
Fun game, very relaxing and with surprisingly good AI (although, still far from realistic, and there are some bugs). This game is mainly about the anticipation of a kill, much more than the actual shooting (a skilled hunter only needs one shot). That said, you do have to take wind, distance and bullet drop into account when shooting. The fact that there could be alot of time before you even see a deer would probably bore the average call of duty player, but the anticipation is a large part of the game. The reason it only gets 7 out of 10 is because the lack of content, there are quite few weapons and maps etc.

I have nothing against this game in particular, but rather the DotA genre as a whole. The game is built around long matches of grinding as fast as possibly to get to a higher level than your enemies, at which point you'll win because of your stats. If you die then your enemy gets lots of experience, which gives your teammates lots of reasons to hate you, and the actual combat is boring as hell! The one positive thing I has to say about this game is that the graphics are nice.

Had so much potential, but failed, largely due to lots of lag and that the player base was spread out on far too many servers.
