This is an entertaining but at times unfocussed movie directed with great enthusiasm by Elizabeth Banks. The musical portions are far more entertaining than the dramatic sections. It's a bit of rollercoaster ride with plenty of highs and lows but I can't say that I hated it. For me the best part is Rebel Wilson, and Adam DeVine is always fun.

I'm not sure why someone decided that it was necessary to remake a comedy classic in such a crude and rude manner. Despite the valiant efforts of the talented cast, this movie is not very funny. Let's hope that they don't decide to make a series of remakes based on the originals.

I'm not sure why they found it necessary to remake this classic award winning horror film. I mean, I will admit this remake has its spooky, creepy and scary moments and the kids are quite good (I especially liked Kyle Catlett in the role of Griffin). Unfortunately, about two thirds of the way through, this film just veers off into the world of modern horror films and becomes nothing more than a mimic of the "Insidious" franchise, just to name a few.

This is one confused narrative and it's acted by a very amateurish cast, which probably makes sense when you consider that it's about some high school kids restaging a play. I wonder who I have to talk to at The Movie Network to get back the 87 minutes of my life I wasted on this junk. To its credit is does have a couple of mildly effective boo scares.

This is a great movie, with stand out performances from Paul Dano, Elizabeth Banks and John Cusack, just to name a few. There is a certain sense of sadness that runs through the narrative that's carefully navigated by director Bill Pohlad. As Brian Wilson slides in and out of various degrees of madness, so does the movie, which proves to be a real rollercoaster of emotions. It also has an amazing sound track of the incredible music library that Wilson has produced over the years. Where was this movie come Oscar time?

So, I'm an openly gay man living in 2016 who should find this movie very entertaining, what with all the hot straight men acting gay. But just like the first one I didn't like this and I think that it's just as sleazy and coarse as the original. I have to give kudos to all these actors who really seem to give their all to these testosterone fueled, narcissistic idiots that they play. Next time I should just download gay porn for satisfaction.

There's something decidedly tacky about this film. Not even the mildly effective visuals or Peter Dinklage can help save this not very funny movie redeem itself. I've got to learn to trust my guts and live up to the fact that I can't stand Adam Sandler (or Kevin James, for that matter). And what's with Josh Gad making these crappy comedies? Disney will take away his "Frozen" pass card.

This film definitely has its creepy moments of horror, and some pretty cool cinematography and design elements, but unfortunately it has a very contrived narrative and just seems to go on endlessly. It's the longest 1 hour and 20 minutes in film history which is a shame, because I've liked some of Bruce McDonald's previous films, especially Hard Core Logo.

Entertaining fast paced family friendly creature feature that's highlighted by eye-popping special effect and fun performances from Jack Black and a bunch of Hollywood future stars. It's a bit manic at times, but that's okay because it seems to suit this style of film. It sort of reminded me of an episode of "The Twilight Zone" or "Outer Limits". It also sets itself up for a sequel, which I'm sure will happen.

Like all the other Furious movies, this one features overwrought, melodramatic dialogue along with so-so acting and absolutely spectacular action/stunt scenes. They tried to dress it up with some interesting new characters provided by Jason Statham and Kurt Russell and a few others. It's fun to see director James Wan do something other than horror films. This one is pretty good and fits in well with the others.

Actress Lin Shaye helps to make these films a bit more entertaining as she always gives a tight performance. The other actors in this film a pretty good as well and there are some effective "boo scare" and creepy moments. Of all the Insidious films, this prequel is actually the best. Kudos to Leigh Whannell for his decent sense of direction and a fairly solid narrative.

The first 20 minutes of this film is incredibly intense, with amazing visuals, fantastic sound and brutal violence. The acting here is near perfect as is the directing. Alejandro González Iñárritu has taken the amazing performances of the actors involved which, of course, include Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy (and a whole list of supporting actors, who all turn in award calibre performances, especially Forrest Goodluck, who plays DiCaprio's half breed son), and molded the film into a near masterpiece of cinematic art. For me, what keeps this movie from having a perfect 5 stars is that it drags on a bit in the middle. Is this one of DeCaprio's greatest performances? I think so. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't finally take home an Oscar.

Entertaining new age take on the slasher flick with an effective and convincing young cast. The film explores the timely concept of cyber bullying that’s quite chilling and creepy at times. This film is well acted and well crafted, with some very clever visual effects and a terrific soundtrack from Hans Zimmer. Unfortunately Neill Blomkamp's narrative and direction wander all over the place. It just can't seem to find it moral feet. Is it a religious allegory or statement on race relations? And it becomes very violent, which just doesn't work that well for me. Add to that that the plot seems to be lifted from the RoboCop films and it just becomes a mish-mash of technical effects and very clichéd characters. Not Blomkamp's best effort here.

This movie reminded me of "30 Days of Night", what with its snowbound locale and bizarre creatures, which came across more vampire than zombie. It's a multinational production, produced by Spain, shot in Hungary and starring made for TV Americans. I thought that this film looked amazing and really took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride. The voice work is fantastic and the use of colour to evoke emotional response is at times intense. I've suffered from clinical depression for several years now, and the emotional manipulation that this film put me through really triggered a lot of sadness and fear within me that I know far too well. Whether that's a good thing or bad thing remains to be seen, but if a film can affect me in that way, I'd say it's pretty good. Whatever the case, I think that “Inside Out” is a good example of psychological education.

There should be an award ceremony revoking Oscars, because some of the stars of this should be required to return theirs. Lots of fancy special effects can't save this convoluted foray into the world of fantasy and adventure. The script for this is just terrible and can't seem to decide whether its dialogue should be modern day or classical. And the **** non-existent. Chris Hemsworth is a good looking guy, but not a very versatile actor. I really don't think that he can play anything else but Thor. This movie is very long, and flashy and somewhat miscast. The direction is pedestrian at best and the narrative seems very uneven and confused. To me, it plays out like a very expensive episode of an American espionage TV show, such as "The Blacklist" or "Scorpion". The shame for me is how it really wasted the talents of Viola Davis, who is so much better than this.
