This game. It's everything. Heck, it's the closest to a true 10 I have ever played. The game combines RPG elements with the fast-paced action of an FPS, perfectly. The gameplay is just about flawless. It does have a slight lack of balance, I was easily able to shotgun through everything, but not so much with a sniper rifle, but I guess that's because shotguns usually deal ridiculous damage most often. The story was good, the characters were fantasticly insane. Only one big problem, the story doesn't change playthrough 2. That made me angry.

This game was amazing. It's game-play was excessively fun, and really it is my favorite of the GameCube library. That I'd played. I haven't gotten around to Super Mario Sunshine yet. It's, in a nutshell, a large amount of why GameCube is my favorite Nintendo console. It's so fun fighting against your friends as Nintendo characters. But I'm definitely going to discuss quality. The game-play is the most balanced in it's series, and it definitely was a huge add-on to the original. It did a lot to change the series. It also... Well... Hard to explain... Was perhaps the most fun I've ever had. My personal rating out of 100: 95/100.

Nope. How is this game so highly regarded when it's just a failure of an FPS? The weapons are improperly balanced, the game-play was absolutely terrible, and everything about this game just has "overrated" all over it.

Well, this game could definitely use refining. It has issues with slippery controls (Am I the only one who feels like they're walking on ICE when playing this game?) Plus, what's so good about Super Mario Brothers 3 originally? The game-play was the same, and it was an obvious downgrade from Super Mario Brothers 2. Games like this shouldn't have any sort of "universal acclaim" the picky gamer would likely throw this in a dumpster if they see the bad quality of this game.

This game is great. It perfects the RPG reward system, as well as the game-play formula for the RPG. It's a unique game. The level-up system is definitely done well, and quite well done. The level design could be a little more complex, the immersion is good, the graphics design is quite unique, and the game-play is based on a unique aspect. Costumes. No, I don't mean costumes from Party City. Suits would be a better term. They give abilities that can be leveled up. I can see the time put into this game. A good 95/100.

Perhaps the worst game I've ever played. I don't even know if I need to say anything. I'll settle on this: it's insultingly easy, the graphics are terribly unappealing, there's not a real soundtrack, the story DOESN'T EXIST, Not A SINGLE GOOD CHARACTER. Wow. I can't even. I've lost my ability to even.

This game is nothing short of amazing. It has everything. Great game-play and immersion. The game-play is similar to the normal RPG. It's turn-based, has an item system, and really... Normal for the RPG play style. Definitely well done, though. It's fluid and smooth, the exploration is normal Mario platforming (but quite easy). This game is quite immersingfor several reasons. It has properly executed humor, it's story is spectacular (the final boss fight is so satisfying!), and the music is well composed. A 96/100. It deserves even more praise than it gets for it's style, characters, EVERYTHING. Except the game needs to be longer and more difficult. That's all the flaws it really has. A must-buy for any Mario fan.

Well, I can easily see why this game is well received. The characters are absolutely hysterical, the mechanics are well balanced, and the excellent presentation. There are nine character classes, each with a colorful personality and a unique style of game-play. I think the release timing was in part because Valve tried so hard to make this an almost perfect game. The mechanics are balanced with every detail in mind, and that rarely happens nowadays with most FPS games. I'm talking about Call of Duty as the main game series that does this. The presentation is well fit to the frivolous nature of the game. The graphics are quite cartoon-ish, and the music amazingly arranged, and well suited to violent psychopath mercenaries (and killers for hire.) There are few flaws with this game, one of the primary flaws is the lackluster storyline. It might as well have been written out of a terribly written novel without a point to it. This game isn't quite a perfect 10, but one of the closest to it I have ever played. If the scale was a 100 scale, it would be a 96-97 for me.
