Strike Back: Season 17
Mar 30, 2017
I enjoy it for all of the reasons the critics do fast paced action, some flesh now and then, great international locales, high tech superspy stuff. The not so hidden joke is that these absolutely tip top operatives AND their superiors who have the intelligence, make the plans, etc. are completely incompetent- they almost always screw everything up! You keep expecting Leslie Nielsen to pop up at any minute.

The Tunnel: Season 15
Jun 27, 2016
Hello!! To the reviewers who note that the plot seems familiar as well as one shining star who seems to know it was done once before, this is the THIRD iteration of this plot in the last 10 years or perhaps less. The first involved a bridge between Denmark and Sweden (excellent) and the second a bridge between the U.S. and Mexico at El Paso/Juarez. After one episode, this time around seems OK except that it's hard for me to get over the laziness of those involved in bringing it to the screen again. Maybe think of a new story?

The Spoils Before Dying: Season 10

Wow I'm truly astonished that this got any positive reviews, I couldn't make it past 10 minutes in. Maybe if it was speeded up to "Airplane" pace so the dead jokes went by quickly. I think the lesson here is that just 'cause your Mom tells you that you are fantastic comedy writer, it ain't necessarily so.

Wolf Hall: Season 13

As boring as the book on which it's based, and with same purposeless, annoying time jumps. The book never improved enough to motivate me to finish it; hopefully this production will gather some steam. Somehow Cromwell, who is supposed to be quite the clever fellow, comes across as a dullard. Combined with a lack of affect presumably intended to convey stoicism and depth, every other character is more interesting,

The Game (2014): Season 15
Apr 2, 2015
Disappointing because it could have been so much better- a nice little LeCarre homage rather than LeCarre-extra light. The acting, characters, dialogue, office intrigues, and atmosphere are very good, but the plot is ludicrous and the- dare I say- tradecraft of the British is nonexistent, they come across as complete bumblers.

Helix: Season 15

Not great but good enough to keep me watching with some judicious fast forwarding. Deadly viruses are always interesting, the arctic base setting is cool, and the plot is interesting albeit sometimes mysterious in a confused rather than compelling way. The dialogue is weak, actions and reactions sometimes unrealistic, sometimes predictable, and the whole hallucination thing is a drag. And what's up with the muzak during the breaks, is there a Stepford Wife plot in here that I'm missing?

Klondike (2014): Season 11
Jan 25, 2014
Worst dialogue ever, ranging from the ludicrous to the just plain inane. And while I understand that it's a plot necessity, why out of the thousands of faceless miners is our hero the focus of beautiful women, bad guys, the preacher and everybody else?

Sons of Anarchy: Season 10

Oh my God, why didn't anybody think of this sooner! A show about bikers! Tough, independent, sexy, All- American outlaws riding Harleys and kicking butt! But wait, don't they mostly make their money from manufacturing and selling crank, a highly addictive and harmful substance that is killing the soul of blue collar America? Yeah, and I think they may also run drugged out, abused young white slaves for prostitution. Hmm, maybe not such great American heroes after all. But wait, they run guns right? Now that IS cool and All-American, kill, kill, death, death, yeah! Problem solved, they're ultra cool biker who ONLY run guns, no crank or underage ****.

Banshee: Season 17
Jul 31, 2013
It's completely implausible and occasionally cheesy but I like it. Good characters, interesting twists, some snappy dialogue here and there, and, course, plenty of sex and violence. It's kinda like "Twin Peaks" meets "Amish Mafia"/"Witness"

Vikings: Season 18

I really enjoy this show but I have a question. Who are the people who live in the Ragnar's village and why are the so unimportant? When a boy is taken as a hostage and never returns (he is murdered), no one blinks. And when the chieftan raids the village and kills everybody in sight (except the people he wants to kill, Ragnar and his family), Rangar's wife complains while at Loki's that the family lost all of its livestock, not that there was an unwarranted massacre

Top Of The Lake: Season 15

Interesting albeit extremely quirky and fairly involving so far. It could really use subtitles as the accents are sometimes completely incomprehensible.

Californication: Season 52
Jan 17, 2013
The first episode might be good, not sure. Perhaps if they provided subtitles whenever RZA speaks, the dialogue would be comprehensible. I'll watch the last 45 minutes, maybe it'll get better . . .

Luck: Season 16

It's probably pretty good but the dialogue is almost incomprehensible, which is incredibly frustrating and annoying. I've got the volume turned up to deafing- maybe I'll get used to it after watching a couple of episodes.
