Star Wars Battlefront8
Nov 17, 2015
This not a shooter for those who crave complex loadouts or strategy. This is an arcade shooter with a lot good going for it. People are going to hate on it because it's not Battlefield, nor is it truly a successor to the original Battlefront games. I, however, think this game is a refreshing addition to world of online shooters. The presentation of this game is immaculate, and the graphics and sound are dead on. The game is designed to be a pick up and play game. A game to let loose. Reminds me of the days spent on N64 playing Golden Eye. Frantic fun without the headaches of being overly complex. The weapon choice is limited, and customization is limited to "Hands" and blaster choice - but so what? It's nice to have a game that doesn't force me to stress over an overly thought out loadout. The Cosmetic choice is also limited, but really I see no real need to be overly concerned with that in a FPS game in the Star Wars Universe. I will mention that, for what you get initially, the price is the biggest drawback of Battlefront. The season pass is ridiculously priced, but we are likely going to see prices trend this way. Knowing that the developer is DICE, I'm fairly confident that the DLC will be worthy of the price - and that updates should be plentiful. Is this game perfect? No. Is it fun? Yes. Star Wars fans and online multiplayer fans should really consider trying this one out. It isn't very deep, but in its own way, it's extremely enjoyable. Personally, I give it a 8/10 since I love the gameplay, atmosphere and the game modes very much. It's true it's not deep like BF4 or even COD or HALO in some ways, but I love it - It's the Star Wars game I've always wanted. I really would compare this to Goldeneye on N64 - as it is more about characters and match modes than customization. The DLC is not priced very well, I admit it. But I've spent MORE money on games that have brought me less enjoyment thus far.

One of the best experiences I've had on a console in a while. Simple gameplay, enough challenge in some of the secrets. Perfect execution. Great game.

I didn't play last year's game because I heard it was horrible. I didn't buy MLB 15, since it's pricey for a yearly title. I ended up giving RBI 15 a shot. It's not bad. It has a season mode, rosters, all the basic stuff I want. If you don't want an super in depth baseball game, and can put up with the really shoddy animations - it's enough to satisfy the basic arcade baseball itch. Like I said. Don't expect bells and whistles. But not the worst arcade game.

Best MMO experience since the early days of SWG, EQ and WoW. I really am enjoying almost every part of this game. I hope that things get better from here and this game gets really popular.

Is it worth $60? Probably not. I found mine through GMG for $40, and it was totally worth it. Seamless adventure with tons of laughs. Best use of a license I've seen in a long time.

Not the greatest game made, nor is it the best Bond game ever made. That said, this isn't a complete throw away like some reviewers are saying. I do like how they've had to re-imagine some of the older movies to fit with modern times. The multiplayer could be better if they can work on latency issues. That said, give it a try. I paid full price because I am a Bond fan to the core, but I imagine this will be down 20-30 bucks by Christmas.

Gears of War 39

Great title. Amazing visuals and very solid gameplay. I'm a fan of the series and am very impressed with the 3rd outing. My only beef is that the online matchmaking is annoying as always with the Gears series. It takes minutes to find matches, as opposed to seconds like most "A" titles.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution8

Great atmosphere and nice story which seems to be a throwback to many sci-fi stories from the past (Bladerunner first came to mind). The combat is decent and so is the stealth aspect. The cover-system is a little screwy at times, and the load times seem a little unnecessary for the medium quality visuals. Boss fights are random as heck and don't go with the flow of the game. Good fun, overall.

Fallout: New Vegas - Old World Blues9

One of the better DLC's for the Fallout games. clocking in around 4 hours of gameplay, this one adds another sci-fi storyline (but better than Mothership Zeta from FO3). I enjoyed the lack of human interaction in this DLC, and the addition of a more mature setting (more cussing and sexual innuendo). The DLC was entertaining, and the weapons were different. After the very dry Honest Hearts, this is more refreshing and enjoyable. Like I said, I finished it in 4 hours or a little less, but there is stuff to go back for, and the area is unlocked to back and forth when finished. Good work.

For the price tag and the replayability, this game is a 10. It's corny, low-budget, but the perfect tribute to the sci-fi b-movies and blockbusters that inspired it. A great value and a lot of fun.

Duke Nukem Forever7
Jun 16, 2011
Most of the reviews for this game are unjust. I realize that the time it took for this game to come out automatically ruined any chances of it having a great score. Are the graphics dated? Yes. Are the load times atrocious? I've seen worse. Overall, Duke Nukem Forever isn't a bad game, nor is it a great one. Is it fun? Yes, it can be loads of fun. Is it frustrating? Yes, but for the right reasons. I'm not justifying a purchase of this game, since I feel $60 is too much for this finished product. Would it be worth 25-30 bucks? Probably. I say rent it, play it, and see for yourself. Not worth perfect marks in any category, but I do feel reviewers slammed this game too hard. I'd say roughly 2 points were docked from every low scoring review just because "it took so long and should have been perfect".

I, like many other's who have reviewed this game gave it an honest shot. Unfortunately all this game does right is initially impress us with the customized character menu - the character models look great. There is where the appeal stops for brink. My experience with the game was buggy, laggy, and helter skelter terms of what the heck was going on. Those who can forgive a game for shoddy AI, ridiculous map designs that crowds teams into hallways, can have fun enjoying this game while they can - the community will die very quickly. I wish people would not feel obligated to give a game an amazing score because they paid 60-70 bucks for it. This game is not good, and wouldn't even be good as an XBLA title.

This game deserves a solid 7/10. I don't feel the visuals are overly impressive, but I feel that game play and a wonderful job by Jim Cummings as the "Mask" pull this game above mediocrity. I will admit that the load times in this game are horrendous (install to HD - it helps a bit), the platforming segments are a borefest, and the game difficulty is horribly inconsistent, but there is something to be admired by this title. Perhaps it's like watching a horror film that seems cliche, too familiar, but at the same time we embrace that familiarity. I highly recommend as a weekend rental or a purchase once it drops to the $30 mark (a 5 hour campaign is NOT worth the asking price for this title). And I will warn people this game is crude, violent and shouldn't be played by minors.

Disney Epic Mickey9
Nov 30, 2010
Did this title live up to the hype? No. Let's get that out of the way. Epic Mickey, however, succeeds on many levels. It succeeds in doing what many dragged out franchises have failed to do. Make you care about the characters. While I realize that Disney isn't exactly the Video game exclusive, the creators of Epic Mickey have succeeded in telling a fairly original story that helps younger generations familiarize themselves with the origin and history of Disney and the many forgotten characters from the golden era of cartoons. While the story delivers, the game play is where Epic Mickey loses 1 point from a perfect 10. As noted is many reviews, the camera may pose a problem to some players. I was readily spamming the "C" button to avoid such camera chaos, so the camera was forgivable. A somewhat clunky aiming system is also a minor setback in the game. Neither of these small problems, in my opinion, warrant the harsh criticisms many of the reviewers have had on this title. I feel that Epic Mickey succeeds in visuals and audio as well. A well balanced (although somewhat repetitive) soundtrack tags along on the wonderful journey in Epic Mickey. The only gripe about the audio is the fact that there is no spoken dialogue - just subtitles and cartoon gibberish. The visuals, though dated and to be expected on the Wii, work very well for the obvious cartoon styled graphics. The framerate suffers at times, and the character models suffer from some pretty rough "jaggies", even running the Wii through component cables. I don't normally write reviews, but I had been looking forward to this game since it was announced, and have gladly come to say that this title has brought my Wii back to life for the time being - and I urge people not to latch onto seemingly mindless critics harping on very minor issues. Epic Mickey is a blast. Sure it could've been more, but I feel this game succeeds on all of the right levels. Will the 6-12 yr old demographic enjoy it? I think they will, even if they don't understand the context of many of the characters (the game does a superb job of simplifying the origins of the "forgotten characters"). The game play is solid and interesting enough to warrant a purchase from parents for their kids. I do think that this game will be most enjoyed die hard disney fans, since this game pays tribute to classic Disney more than it does current Disney brands. Some will moan and complain that the lack of familiarity with characters will cause people to lose interest. I don't think it will. Check it out.
