Palworld1

Easily the worst game I've ever played. Gameworld is ugly and empty. Pals are generic or stolen. Combat system is auto battler (so non existent). No story. Quests are the worst in gaming "go here, go there, show me this pal, show me that pal". What remains...? Ah yeah, the marketing campaing "Pokemon with weapons". And everybody bought it. Tells a lot about the players. And wtf are "professional" critics smoking these days.

Gothic 1 Remake6
Jun 22, 2026
I’d never played the original, but now I’ve “caught up” on this classic. The world-building and the difficulty level are insane. I had a few rage quits at first, but it keeps pulling you deeper and deeper in. Our character is not a hero, he's a nobody. And the game makes us feel that throughout the entire experience. Story, characters, quest design, motivation: everything’s top-notch. But the environment design is a half-hearted collection of off-the-shelf Quixel/Unreal assets. Aside from the characters and creatures, almost nothing here was designed by the developer themselves. That’s embarrassing. And for a remake, that’s a deal-breaker for me. Many Unreal games make exactly this mistake, from Stellar Blade to Lies of P, but the Gothic 1 remake is particularly egregious, since literally the entire game world outside the camps is a soulless asset flip. My biggest criticism, though, is the lockpicking. This system is absolutely absurd. It might be fun as a standalone puzzle game app, but in a game that already demands everything from the player, it’s simply one slap in the face too many. Even at the highest lock-picking level, you can’t get past the locks. The developer seems to be making it clear: You’re not supposed to steal. Because it isn’t rewarded. Complex locks are a test of patience. I’ve read online about people spending realtime HOURS trying to open a SINGLE chest. Meanwhile, the in-game clock keeps ticking. Staying undetected is therefore impossible. I've spent 300 Ores and 20 LPs in lockpicking for what? To get trolled by the developers. For me it's 100% clear, this lockpicking system is made with AI. No human brain would create such puzzle.

These high ratings are shocking. Are two jiggly breasts enough to make people overlook every other flaw? Enemy variety: Terrible. Character behavior (control responsiveness): Terrible. Level design: Catastrophic—it’s just an asset flip. Each of these 3D objects was bought off the shelf and slapped together haphazardly. You have no idea where to go. Every few seconds, you have to activate the scanner just to highlight a chest against the lifeless environment design. Meanwhile, the same three enemies are standing around everywhere. Too bad—I would have liked to enjoy the jiggles a little longer, but I had to quit.

The first 3 hours you think: Wow, this could be good. Followed by the most superfluous open world of all time. Experience a world without exploration, without discoveries. Ride from fortress to fortress to eliminate 1-3 people, always in the same identical environment. Once you have played the first 2 hours, you have not only seen all the props, architecture and environment designs. You have experienced the entire game. Everything else is repetition on a continuous loop without any open world activities. This is the game experience of Assassin's Creed Shadows. A game can only be developed so badly on purpose. Any game designer would accidentally make a better game. So I see this “game” as another step by the management department to finally get bought out.

And that is exactly what is called a graphic blender. I was excited to finally be able to catch up on this legendary game, only to find that it's very boring. You run along very narrow tube levels to engage in irrelevant dialog. Occasionally an equally irrelevant combat in between. Sexy characters are not enough to justify a high rating. There is no real game here. AAA is dying - sadly not fast enough...

GOTY? 10/10? I generally don't like playing JRPGs, but when you hear GOTY or everyone's throwing high ratings around, there's usually something good behind it anyway. I also didn't like Souls Like until Elden Ring came along - a real GOTY. For the first time in a review, I have to agree with all the negative voices. For the most part, it is NOT a game. It's a visual novel, so it's a novel, with a few anime scenes. In between, the illusion **** is created, where you run back and forth between cliché fantasy characters in anime style. By the way, I like anime - and fantasy too, if it's done right. Here, one cliché meets the next. The absolute low point of the game, however, is the combat system, which makes it easy to recognize the many 10 ratings as troll comments. I have nothing against round-based combat. But to call it the most creative turn-based combat system and metaphor the best game of all time borders on a denial of reality. First it's the player's turn, then the enemies. If you don't react fast enough during “exploration”, first the enemies, then the player. What's so extraordinarily good about that? Plus a few classic spells that have long been familiar from every RPG in the world. The same goes for the characters. A cliché nobleman, a cliché lady knight, an extremely cliché fairy and a main character that could appear in the most horrible of storytelling formats: Isekai. Can't do anything special. Is as charismatic as a white wall. But suddenly he's the chosen one. The graphics couldn't be worse. Even in anime style you can make an effort. I don't usually care about graphics, but this is bordering on a refusal to work. The dungeons are 1 to 1 N64 quality. No exaggeration. Every theater stage has more depth. Well... but since a bit of blood splashes in the anime scenes - not even in the game - and supposed main characters can also die, it is of course a masterpiece. Exactly.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree7
Oct 17, 2024
Elden Ring is one of the best games ever made, but the DLC actually... is not. World is very empty. The first region is fine, but all others feel soulless. Especially the bosses are dissappointing. I liked 4 of them, but even my favorite of the dlc would be just mid/average compared to the phenomenal bosses of the main game. Yet, I'm hyped, what comes next, since there are some very good ideas in it, like the Sword of Light/Night, Spirit Ashes with Micro Quests, and a stealth region - which doesn't work well, but I think, the DLC proves, Fromsoftware is trying new things for their next big game. Ah, and the balance system is not working out in my eyes. Either you are way to underpowered at the beginning or way to overpowered later. Still have no idea, what Mesmers Movekit is. He's always dead in 3 tries, Fingers in 2...

God of War: Ragnarok6
Oct 12, 2024
I don't understand the hype about Playstation games. God of War Ragnarok feels like a standalone expansion to God of War. There is absolutely nothing new. The combat system is identical, the non-existent story that you can't skip is identical, the enemy variation undercuts anything that's come before. Tubular level design like from 1999. Not even the 3D assets offer anything graphically. Other soulless AAA games at least get that halfway right. An action game for boomers, who shouldn't be given too much to play as it could overwhelm them. For everyone else, an insult to their lifespan and wallet.

Frostpunk 25
Sep 22, 2024
I was very hyped for FP2, as no game conveys the atmosphere like Frostpunk 1. Unfortunately, a lot of the soul - what really made the game stand out - has been replaced in favor of generic build-up strategy elements.I can't understand the developers' decision making at all. It feels like the creators of Frostpunk were thrown out the door and greedy management dictated how it should be done for part 2. For blind fanboys and so-called “professional journalism”, that seems to be enough. For fans of quality and uniqueness, Frostpunk 2 is another disappointing title in a decade of disappointments. The pricing policy of 11 bit studios foreshadowed it.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut4
May 21, 2024
Probably the most overrated game I've ever played. Becomes boring and repetitive after just 2 hours of play.
- The main character has zero charisma
- The combat system is very clunky and irrelevantly boring, as if it came from around 2010.
- The story couldn't be more irrelevant. - Openworld is just a backdrop, no real openworld activities- Quests work like standard bandit camps in other games.
Further proof that you can no longer believe the reviews of games journalism.

DAVE THE DIVER10
Dec 27, 2023
TLDR: One of the best indie games of all time. And therefore one of the very best games ever - and usually I don't like pixel art. Dave is just a great guy. He loves diving and very soon also fishing. So he answers his old friend's call and starts a job in a beach sushi bar. What follows should you experience for yourselves. Because anything else would be a spoiler. As soon as you feel that you have experienced the gameplay loop sufficiently, the game surprises you with completely new elements, a story and character development for all the supporting characters. Great! Game of the year 2023!

Baldur's Gate 38
Dec 27, 2023
TLDR: A masterpiece on the first run, if you want to experience the classic hero story. 10/10 on first playthrough. 7/10 afterwards. GOOD: - Combat system. Many spells with epic realisation in effect design and synchro. Hearing Gale yell "IGNIS!" doesn't get boring even after 100 times.- Enemy variety. Especially the fights against creatures are all unique. You never fight a creature twice. This makes exploring the game on the first run super exciting. Unfortunately, the fights against humanoids are all the more frequent. In the third act in particular, I would have liked to have seen more recurring enemies from the first act.- Heroic story. The story for the classic good playthrough is very well told and logical. You start your journey as a small but potential hero and truly become a saviour. If your role fits better, the game experience feels even better. Heal-Barde was it for me.- Dungeons. There are only a few recurring dungeon themes. Many are very individual and it is great fun to explore them and find out which enemies are lurking within.- Equipment. Never have I played a game with such exciting equipment. You don't feel much of it at first, but the further you progress, the more specialised the equipment becomes. It doesn't just boost stats, but contributes to your individual play style.- Characters. Most of the NPCs are very likeable. Especially those who **** at the beginning undergo a great development. Laezel and Shadowheart are very annoying at first. But Shadowheart probably has the most elaborate background story of all. Laezel's development is rather predictable, but still nice to watch. Karlach's story is simple, but all the harder. Gael and Astarion are super likeable time companions. I even prefer Gael to the fan favourite vampire. His wisdom and knowledge regularly contribute to the worldbuilding and his dubbing is in no way inferior to that of Astarion. But the best character by far is the devil Raphael. Halsin, on the other hand, became a joke character after the first act, who would have been better suited to a harem game and became very intrusive.- Class system. Hammer, despite all the overlap.- Boss fights. Every boss feels unique. That's exactly how it should be.AVERAGE:- Dialogues + story. The writing is very erratic. Sometimes it's top-notch, sometimes it feels like it was written by an inexperienced teenager. In general, the story is very stereotypical. There are no plot twists and almost every character fulfils their clichés. In a game with this much flexibility and freedom, this is probably the necessary sacrifice. The genius lies in the details. No matter what you choose to do, it feels like you're experiencing the real story. And there are big differences. But since the story itself is so inconsequential, I can't rate it as ****:- Bad story. The game pretends that there is a bad story. In my subsequent playthroughs, I tried to experience the bad story. In the first act, you are presented with a ridiculously terrible decision. Except that the evil story ends abruptly. Act 2 treats the player as a double agent throughout. You are not allowed to become an evil identity. You can only indulge in your lust for murder as Dark Urge, without any direct connection to the story. And with that, the game's genius disintegrates into hypocrisy. There is only one story. Decisions only have selective weight.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom7
Dec 27, 2023
It irons out almost all of BotW's weaknesses. GOOD: - Gigantic open world with lots of secrets and unique caves. - A comprehensible story with an epic climax, albeit very predictable. - GANONDORF IS BACK! The final battle is epic, but simple. This is probably the way to pick up casuals and veterans alike. - The skills! Weaponfuse as well as building vehicles is great! Crafting weapons in particular is great fun. There aren't too many special fusions in the end, but it solves the problem that BotW still had. Battles are motivating. You are well rewarded and make noticeable progress without a level system. AVERAGE: - Timeback Skill - is very helpful, but also necessary in places to rewind the far-flying parts that didn't land where you physically expected them to. - Bosses - they're still not as good as they were in previous Zelda instalments, but better than the Ganon fights in BotW. Not good: - Enemy Variation. BotW already had few enemies, but TotK simply has too few enemies for a game in 2023. Only a handful of new ones have been added. I would have liked more creative enemies here, especially because of Weaponfuse. - Dungeons. Some say that the great dungeons of the good Zelda days have returned. I can't confirm that. The 4 story dungeons are even worse than the Divine Beasts. The fire and water temples in particular are just areas stuck together with no depth. The worst dungeons Zelda has ever had. - Sky Islands: Of all things, the main focus of the marketing is the weakest area in the entire game. It's more a question of how you get up there. Once you're up there, one of three copy-paste patterns awaits the player. Boring. On top of that, there is a pathetic variety of enemies up here. There are really only the small robots and maybe the occasional flying enemy. - Underground. Provides strong kicks for the first 3 hours. Then it becomes just as trivially boring as the Sky Islands. Absolutly NO GO: - There's nothing worse for an open world than copying the world from the previous instalment and barely reworking it. There are caves, which are the best innovation on the surface. Everything else in the familiar open world is a bitter disappointment. Exploration is no fun. Worse still: where there was nothing in BotW, there is often nothing to be found in TotK either. So the open world degenerates even more into an Ubisoft junk world. TLDR: A potentiel masterpiece that fails due to its open world formula and doesn't make the most of its cool game design ideas.

Pro: Environment Design. - Con: Everything else. - This is not a new IP. It's a Far Cry game with a Na'vi skin and the world of Pandora. It is well known that Ubisoft games have seen virtually no development for several years. But it's hard to explain why even the latest generation of open-world games is now being screwed up again. Who at Ubisoft makes the decision that it is enough to build on the code of below-average games and not expand the game design, which was already boring in 2016? I feel sorry for all the environment designers involved, who have put a lot of effort into creating a beautiful open world. Too bad everyone else at Ubisoft feels no urge for quality.

Solid survival game - played solo Good: - Elaborate combat system, which is untypical for Survival but works well. - Great graphics that perfectly use the strengths of the UE4 with solid performance. - Varied biomes with lots of secrets and lots of resources that benefit the equipment system more than base building. - One of the best settings menus ever. You can customize a lot, even the shape of the spiders if you have a phobia about them. - The moth is so incredibly cute. Average: - Story is predictable but ok for the genre. There's also some laughter and drama too. And Dramedy is the best mix in storytelling. - There are things like dungeons that are a bit reminiscent of Zelda. The first was very good, the 3-4 after that unfortunately not so much. - Resource system initially seems very strong and varied. Later, however, it seems artificial and not implemented in a meaningful way. A Subnautica can do that better! - Enemy variation is fine, but since the different strains of the same enemy type (e.g. ants) are very similar, the variation then weakens. Bad: - A little too much focus on combat - In the end, a lot is stretched and there are no real new opponents. You just get overwhelmed by more and more enemies. - Missed chance for mounts

Mar 8, 2023
One of the best games ever! I'm a huge Zelda fan and although many things are done differently in BotW than in the earlier parts, the math works out. Nintendo shows once again why - in their best form - they are unrivaled. Good: - FREEDOM. You can do whatever you want and it will work! - Scope: 120+ shrines - A huge open world that offers something to discover every 10 steps. - Lovable supporting characters, from simple traders to story characters. - The best resource system of any open world. You're never super rich, and you can never have enough resources to upgrade all the useful gear. - Incredible physics. From fire/water/electricity to gravity, static and force. - The paraglider! Average: - Enemy Variation. All enemies feel unique, but the variation isn't that huge. Bad: - In a game that involves a lot of climbing, rain shouldn't be the biggest hurdle of all... - No Ganondorf. The glorification of Ganon and the bosses in general are the game's biggest disappointment, which Tears of Kingdom needs to make up for greatly!

Bad: -

Harry Potter IP is well used and feels magical for the first few hours of play. What follows is the worst open world I've seen so far. Even a Far Cry 6 is more innovative and that says a lot. I don't understand this high rating. People should stop judging only the first 5 hours of play and the marketing trailer. - Generic open world activities without any reward. - A pointless resource system. - Only 5 different enemy types. - Every square meter of the game world is similar to the other. - No reason to travel the open world. Side quests have no content. No magic, hardly any fantasy, no puzzles included. - Combat system is fun at first, but wears out quickly due to lack of enemy variety.
