Mindhunter: Season 1

Halfway through episode 1 I turned this off, saying to myself "i'd rather watch Dexter for the 5th time". But I decided to give it another try. The scenes with the girlfriend are painful to watch, but the subject matter is interesting, given that it's based on real people. Compelling at times; not the best series but filler while you're waiting for something better.

Year 1 of The 100 is brilliant TV. Technically flawed, but a fun show to watch. Technically, the show is infuriating. Not once in Year 1 is a geiger-counter seen, as if the technology of people who have been in space for 100 years would preclude them from measuring radiation levels. In the first show they see 2 headed animals and glow in the dark insects but after the first couple of episodes such things are no longer present. There are a lot of survivors and they're all dressed like cavemen; a nuclear holocaust would kill a lot of people but leave 90% of "stuff" undamaged, so there would be a lot of clothes and homes and guns around; why in 100 years didn't these cave people find any of the stuff from modern society? Once you get past the idea that this could ever happen, there's a lot of fun stuff that's highly entertaining. And thats why we watch Sci-Fy, right, to be entertained. The first season is by far the best.

Season 2 is better than season 1 because E1 gets right into it and you know what's going on. I binged S1 so it was continuous for me. It starts with a flashback to The Arrival so it's a bit confusing until you realize it's a flashback. Non-stop action and intrigue. A very entertaining and thought-provoking series.

It's fairly obvious to me what's going to happen here; everyone is fighting each other while an existential threat to mankind looms beyond the wall. Obviously the warring factions will band together to save mankind; dragons and wildfire will unite to defeat the whitewalkers. But even when you know the ending, the show is a lot of fun. I could do without the dragons and the Jason and the Argonaut like zombies, but it's a fantasy show. Let the heads roll for 2 more seasons.

It took me a few tries to get into it, but like many series, you have to stick with it more than the first 2 episodes. Character building takes some time. By the end of season one; I was liking the show. Not in my top 10, but I'll watch season 2 after I've watched Homeland

I love this show. I discovered it Sunday and by today (Wed) I can hardly wait for tomorrow's release after watching 1.5 seasons in 3 days. Nothing like Sci-Fi that makes you think. Who are the Aliens? What do they want? What would people do to each other in exchange for more freedom and luxuries? What would it be like to live in a modern country where the government had no rules? I was never a Sawyer fan, but Holloway is superb in the lead.

This show might be funny if I was a low-life with no sense of humor, but that's not me. The show is a series of bad SNL skits where one is less funny than the next . I can't believe it wasn't cancelled right after the pilot show.

The big problem with this show is that it's not very funny. It's supposed to be a parody of right wing politics, but like left wing talk radio, the so-called jokes are boring. The episodes are short also, so there's not as much content as expected.

Once you get past the elements of this scenario that seem impossible, I really loved this show. My first impression was that there is no way the USA would surrender. If the **** got the bomb first they would have taken over Europe and maybe we would have pulled back until we finished our bomb, but attacking America would have been a bloodbath with a never ending insurgency. The ability to deliver enough A-Bombs to get america to surrender just didn't exist in the 1940s That being said, the show is good entertainment with good characters and an interesting premise. I found myself badly wanting to watch 1 more episode, and saddened when I was done with them all. And that's exactly what you want from television. Engaging Entertainment.
