The only gripes I would have about this game aren't really gripes. It can be grindy, especially with Gathering, but that's for the better. You find that out fast when it's time for Crafting. The only other potential gripe is also a strength. The game does want you to experiment yourself and can be kind of basic in tutorials, however this is a good thing. I do wish it told more in terms of crafting with Buddies, though, as I would have been doing that a lot sooner had I known how the system worked. I used Gathering Buddies before and thought crafting would be similar with them randomly doing actions, but that isn't the case. They genuinely help and do nothing random with Crafting. While the story could be considered mildly generic there are enough twists and hard hitting moments that make it worthwhile the entire way through. The maps are a pleasure to explore, and there is plenty to explore given there are 3 entire worlds essentially. In summary this game is a must play for fans of RPGs and/or life sim games

Just by it's very nature of only having so much to unlock and only so much you can do I have to give this an 8. But Farm Together is an incredible game, especially if you have kids that are just getting into gaming or if you want an easy going, stress free gaming experience. If you like farming sims or cozy games this is definitely worth buying

It plays very much like a mix of **** Valley and Animal Crossing with SCUBA diving being added. For better or worse the SCUBA diving is not 3D and is essentially just your character wandering the ocean floor. While obviously not as immersive as 3d diving the good side of this is the controls remain familiar and don't variate from core controls. The only real complaint I have at all with the game is it does seem a lot more grindy than other cozy games I've played, but that isn't a game killer, and the grind seems fairly reasonable and not completely soul crushing. If you're a fan of **** Valley, Animal Crossing, or cozy games in general it's definitely worth a buy

What's there isn't bad, but not enough modes/content to really make it worth long term play. That being said, great short term fun and definitely worth grabbing on sale. The solo is good enough for a roguelite, and the multiplayer is fun until you've done everything a few times. The devs are adding more, though, and my score could go up in time. If I was rating the game based on effort by the devs, though, easy 10/10. The devs have done an amazing job with bug fixes and pretty regular updates. If a significant content patch comes or a large expansion DLC I'll definitely come back and sink more time in

Downgrade from Payday 2 in every single way but graphics. Don't waste your time and just get complete edition of Payday 2 for a much better experience

As always Square continues to add to the already impressive MMO that is Final Fantasy 14. What was once a great game with so much content remained just as great with even more content. This game is by far the best MMO you'll find on console

Outside of a few minor glitches, this is peak gaming. The graphics are great, the story is awesome, the characters are interesting, and it's just an all-around good time solo or with friends. I can't recommend this game enough, especially if you played and enjoyed the original Dead Island

PA did too little, too late. Though the game is much better for new players thanks to quality of life additions, many don't stick around due to the toxic gaming environment. There are better MMOs on console, and considering lack of options for MMOs on console that honest statement speaks volumes

Toxic gaming environment, no co-op servers for 8P content, and extremely hard to make any progress as a solo player. If you have a group of friends you can count on to not leave once the next new "it" game drops you can have a lot of fun here, but if you're playing solo, like I mostly have been, I cannot recommend that you pass this game up enough

Great game if you have a dedicated crew that can stick with one game, horrible game if you're solo. Safer Seas not only prohibits you from reaching Pirate Legend, you only make 30% of gold from treasure sales. Meanwhile on High Seas solo players are an easy target and will often be targeted by fully crewed ships. In fact, any player controlled ship you see has a 99% chance of not only being hostile, but also outnumbering you. With more options for solo players to thrive this could be a great game in any form, but as all the friends I played with left for other games and I didn't feel like wading through randoms for someone that isn't a troll just trying to sabotage others' voyages I spent most of my time with the game solo, so I'm grading it on those grounds. Needless to say, if you do have a dedicated crew that won't flake out and leave once the new "it" game drops I can't suggest this game enough. But if there's any chance at all you're going to be playing solo pass this game up. You can do better with almost any other purchase, as the trolls, toxic game environment, and lack of feasible options for solo players to progress make this game worse than many options that can be bought much cheaper during a good sale

Would be a 2.5, but we'll go with 3 over 2 just because the action can be good, major emphasis on can as it definitely isn't always, and the graphics are quite nice. I went into the game hearing all the criticism on lack of end game and lack of land content, though in my humble opinion people looking for land content should have obviously looked elsewhere, as Skull and Bones was being sold as a game that focused on naval combat. Despite the criticism I went in open minded and tend to take my time with games and explore more anyway, so Ubisoft would have had plenty of time before I burned through the content leading up to end game. And for the first few hours there was definitely fun to be had. Boarding and sinking ships for loot was a rush and made some fun times early. But when I decided to explore further the real problems started. For those unfamiliar with the mechanics if you're sunk you lose a lot of items if you engage in a lot of combat like myself. But you can pay silver to revive at sea or revive at the hub then recover your goods from your ship. After being sunk at a place I hadn't explored yet housing ships I'd yet to interact with I couldn't grab my stuff I lost and get out before being sunk by a single torpedo. No warnings on screen, No indicators I'd be attacked on sight or was way in over my head. Just hours of progress lost for no reason. To be honest I'm not likely to make it to end game at this point, as I had all the items to complete my current quest, but they were all lost due to me just wanting to explore the game world more, exploring being a component I thought would be rewarded given the setting. While I can't speak of end game I can speak on the game lacking many components to make it intuitive and actually accessible for the average person. Many MMOs warn a player going into areas they're not ready for. This could definitely be useful here. But while this game doesn't have the things that help other MMOs, it definitely came with the drudgery. Many of the quests involve killing a few creatures or looting boats and the ever so exciting fetch quests that don't add to the world, setting, or enjoyment at all. All being said there are way better MMOs, and while less action based there are better pirate and naval sims out there as well. This game is far from worth the current asking price. Full price was already steep given the Battle Pass formula was in full effect here, but is doubly ridiculous given the content really isn't worth full price not being a game as a service, but with all considered the price tag is a slap in the face. Do yourself a favor and wait to see if Sea of Thieves is actually coming to PS if you're a Playstation user, as that game is already established and is a much better game overall. Skull and Bones simply isn't worth the money or frustration

I'd love to give this game a higher score, but my review will explain why. So first with the pros. The story is somewhat relatable, but good regardless. And the chance to own and play in a virtual arcade is quite nice. Besides the story some of the games are legitimately fun and it's a rush completing goals on machines to increase their popularity, get trophies/achievements, and just for a sense of progress and accomplishment. Not only that, but the game as a whole seems to just be a tribute to gaming. And because the devs apparently have an indie record label a lot of the music is also good. It's pros definitely shine. But onto the cons. Through no fault of the player objects and laundry machine doors can stop you from picking up the trash and gum in the arcade meaning you lose cleanliness rating. Some of the games are boring and/or needlessly hard and the "how to" section in the arcade menu doesn't always do a good job explaining controls and game mechanics. And the biggest downfall of the game is the watch your character has. While it is nice getting alerts for laundry and other chores your character always pulls the watch up, even when playing arcade games. What this means is a lot of needless losses in the games due to the watch covering a solid 1/3 or more of the screen. While you can buy an upgrade to stop this it's the most expensive upgrade in the game. So even with sacrificing other needed upgrades it's still no easy feat to play games without major obstructions on the screens. At this point I can't even count how many times I've lost a game due to not seeing enemies coming thanks to the watch. With all that said if the downsides were fixed in a patch this game would easily get a rating of 8 or 9 in my book, but due to frustration caused by the bad aspects and because we can't get into decimals with rating I've got to give it a 6, though it'd be 6.5 if I could. To sum it all up Arcade Paradise is definitely worth playing despite the frustrations, but if a sequel comes and addresses the bad aspects I'll be fully onboard and would even pre-order it, as despite the flaws there's still a lot of fun to be had with this game, especially after getting all the upgrades.

The game play is great in my opinion. When it runs smoothly. However that is very rare in recent times. Since crossplay it seems the programming for the game is simply bugs upon bugs. Game immersion is constantly ruined from blue screening, and the gear progression system is in dire need of a massive overhaul. Without god-like RNG you will also find your gear score can stay locked for weeks on end with no progress. While the Life Skill system is one of the best crafting/gathering systems in MMOs by far, I simply cannot recommend the game until the numerous technical flaws are smoothed out at minimum. At the time of this writing the game is 90% lag, desync, and blue screens and only 10% fun. With a focus towards optimization and an overhaul of the gear system, however, Black Desert has potential to be a truly great game. But poor developer decisions regarding crossplay, optimization, and content updates along with the fully RNG dependent gear progression keep it from realizing that potential and at least in my case left me wondering why I spent money on a game that incredibly rarely functions properly in which I spend more time looking at an error screen than I actually spend playing. With all these problems you'd hope for at least helpful customer service, but the developers also fall very short on that category as well.

Run and gun aspects of the game are amazing. The driving physics leave a lot to be desired, however. While this wouldn't be a big issue, unfortunately you have to drive for some missions and the clunky driving physics do not help. While parts of the game are fun, I believe the game would have been a lot better if the devs focused on what they do best, and that's fast paced and fun shooting action.

Where to start on the atrocity **** known as Fallout 76... Rampant glitches, obvious cash grabs, and overall uninteresting gameplay. But what do you expect from a company that made a problem (weapons breaking much faster) and proposes that the answer to that is spending real money on repair kits? While they did try with little success to release free dlc to bring back hype, it was too late and too riddled with other problems to the point every time one thing was fixed worse problems arose. While the game does have a possibility of being saved later down the line the actions taken thus far have proven the cheaper route may have just been to give refunds.

While the expansion was largely great and for the better, a few classes and one full role did not escape unscathed. While playing as healer lost much of it's magic, pun intended, and while some classes lost major abilities and thus effectiveness, the expansion is a lot of good fun. Time will tell whether certain classes will be fixed, but even as it stands now it's a very enjoyable game with relatively few flaws weighing it down. If you're a fan of the previous expansions Shadowbringers isn't to be missed.

**** is definitely a gem. It takes elements from Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, adds a little retro Zelda-esque combat and mixes it all together to make an amazing package. While it can get repetitive after clearing the story elements, the road there is paved with good fun. Outside of the repetition and amount of time it takes for updates it's flawless in terms of being worth the money, though the latter is understandable, as the entire game was made by one person, making this game stand out that much more.

Shoppe Keep, while an amazing simulation, isn't perfect but it is worth the price. Obviously not everyone is content with a game in which you simply run a shop, however the game offers more than just number manipulation. You take an active role in cleaning your shop, furnishing it, stocking it, and dealing with thieves. While I'd love to give this a better score, the thing holding me back is technical issues. The game itself is great, though fairly regular "blue screens" drag the experience down. With some bug fixes, though, it'd be great fun.

Dauntless manages to find the perfect sweet spot between Monster Hunter and a more casual approach. Dauntless eliminates much of the ridiculously long grind times of Monster Hunter and instead replaces the dull filler with new content updates and hunts while offering players the chance to craft epic gear from parts that can be obtained through several behemoths. The best feature, however, is that PS4, PC, and XB1 can all play together. The only thing bogging the game down at all is server issues, however they only tend to flare up when new content is released, and Epic typically does great at fixing the issues in a timely manner. This is obviously annoying to players looking to sign on and play, and many give up on playing because of this. Players that stick it out and try until it works, though, are rewarded with great game play and in my honest opinion one of the, if not the, best free to play game available on PS4.

Portal Knights is an amazing take on the block builder genre, offering loads of content, not to mention a lot of free content with updates. The DLC is all very fairly priced, especially considering you can get as many of what you bought as you'd like. The game looks great, runs smooth, and has lots to come back for. The holiday events are also a lot of fun. The only reason I can't give it a perfect score is due to difficulty curve on the optional Hard Mode Bosses and High Rifts, though as I stated these are optional but enough to make even some of the most hardened completionists give up. All in all, though, 100% worth the buy.

TERA as a game is great. TERA as a whole... very unbalanced. Dragged down by partnered guilds allowed to run amok in the game world, horrible customer service, and rampant glitches. The seeds of greatness are here, but players losing premium items and not getting them back after glitches, rude GMs, and the devs' favoritism to partnered guilds make this game great for someone just looking to spend a weekend with a good game, but it's not a game I can recommend to anyone looking to invest a lot of time into and due to the poor customer service I cannot recommend spending any money on the game.

The concept is great, but execution is VERY sloppy. There is potential, but much of it is squandered away due to bad design choices. Not even mentioning the skin system and pricing, as that's a train wreck in itself, there is much to not like here. I'll start from the beginning. You start the game, excited to try a new twist on the Battle Royale genre. A movie plays that explains nothing. You then make a human character and choose human or werewolf. After choosing either side an intrusive window pops up when you find a que that explains the bars/meters, but little else. What it doesn't tell you is controls are totally different depending what side you pick. For humans controls were fairly standard, though with a VERY clunky loot system. For werewolves you'll be using face buttons, something I'd wished I'd known before finally being able to get in as a werewolf. You'll also notice significantly different matchmaking times, as werewolf is fairly fun, and that's what most go for. Another thing I've noticed is the map is about the same size as a 100 person Battle Royale map, yet with significantly less occupants. I have personally played games where I never saw another person, not even my own squad, which you cannot see on the game's map like in other BR titles. To sum it up... with some major overhauls it could be a great game, but as it stands now I cannot recommend the download.
