There are some games available on mobile phones. At first glance, they seem interesting and creative, promising a casual yet enjoyable experience. But after the first few levels, they become unnecessarily complex, forcing you to purchase tens of dollars worth of packages just to perform even the smallest tasks. Otherwise, the game becomes unplayable. This game continues that initial experience without sacrificing it. It demonstrates that a game can be made without being bogged down by the micropurchase scourge of today. That's why it maintains the casual experience I mentioned so long, and keeps you coming back for more and more. The game demonstrates its development by an experienced team in many ways. First and foremost, the art design is delightful, adding to the casual enjoyment. It flows naturally, eliminating the need for nonsensical tutorials. We instinctively sense what we're likely to encounter as we proceed. Because the game's mechanics are based on everyday cooking, we can reason and discover things ourselves without needing any guidance. The team has managed to guide the player with simple hints without disrupting this sense of discovery. If you're accustomed to different recipes, this game will help you guess which ingredients you need for the desired dish. Figuring out how to make some dishes can be challenging. However, sometimes "recipe cards" are provided for these situations. Finding them will solve this problem. The recipe list on the left is very helpful. My only criticism of the game is that it needs a few more minor tweaks. For example, I'd like to see more customization options, rather than the game being limited to just the "workspace." For example, I'd like to see additional features available for purchase, like decorating the kitchen with flowers, replacing kitchen cabinets, or changing the customers' chairs or tables. Of course, this shouldn't affect the game's core mechanics, but rather be a simple "customization" feature and shouldn't create unnecessary clutter. But other than that, the game is truly well-made. It sometimes reminds me of the games I played on PC in the early 90s. They've managed to achieve a simple yet effective result. 8: Very good - While it needs some tweaks, it deserves to be popular.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

To play this game, I had to adjust some additional settings. They haven't even updated for the simplest problems. For example, we can't lower the mouse sensitivity below 10; the game wouldn't allow it. You need to download and use the Borderlands Sensitivity Changer for the Pre-Sequel from Nexus Mods. Another problem: Older games like Borderlands 2 and TPS reportedly receive the 0xc00007b error. This requires the following method: **** C:WindowsSystem32d3dx9_43.dllI had to delete these files and reinstall DirectX (using dxwebsetup). We played Borderlands 1 with great excitement when it first came out. It offered a new and interesting experience. We enjoyed Borderlands 2 immensely when it first came out. It improved everything from Borderlands 1. That's why we had high expectations when Borderlands The Pre-Sequel first came out. However, this game never quite lived up to its name. I tried the game many times from the beginning with different characters, but I just couldn't get into it and left early. Because Borderlands 4 came out, I wanted to replay the series from the beginning. However, even after all these years, this game still feels miserable. I understand they were trying to experiment with a different style of game. But the game was released with an excessive amount of fait accompli, and that's why they released it without adjusting the mechanics and difficulty balance. Flying in low atmosphere isn't fun at all. It forces you to move in extreme slow motion. And all the while, enemies around you are running from right to left, left to right, and firing at you. Moving so slowly was a very stupid decision from the developers, as even a single shot from enemies could instantly reset all your shields and health. Reloading weapons is equally slow, makes fighting enemies seem like torture test. Even worse, the enemies are like bullet sponges and your weapons run out of ammo in seconds. That's why I avoid fighting Kraggons. Killing a Kraggon requires a few rounds of ammunition: they don't die. When they die, two more Kraggons spawn. This time, you try to kill those Kraggons as well. Even much worse, Kraggons have something like a "rank" system. The higher a Kraggon is, the more you kill them, the more two lower-ranked Kraggons spawn. So, let's say three Lvl 3 Kraggon appear. You kill them. A total of six Lvl 2 Kraggons spawn from them. Killing these Kraggons also yields twelve Lvl 1 Kraggons (hatchlings). And you find yourself killing a total of 21 Kraggons. Considering that each Kraggon takes a lot of bullets to kill, even with different weapons, you might have used up all your ammo just to kill those three Lvl 3 Kraggons. Another problem with the game is the driving. If you don't set your game to 30 FPS, you won't be able to get over ramps that require jumping. In Unlimited FPS, the car moves slower than normal and falls down midway. They haven't even thought about fixing this. I don't know if it's worth putting up with all this nonsense for the sake of the relation with the Borderlands 2's story. I think it makes much more sense to just jump right into Borderlands 4 without bothering with it. While the storytelling may have strayed from Borderlands 1 and 2, they've at least managed to do a much better job of implementing the flying mechanics attempted in this game. 3: Terrible - It's a pointless game, even for a fan of this genre.

Overwatch 1 was one of the last good games Blizzard made. When Overwatch 2 was announced, we were hoping for a better version of Overwatch 1. It was said that it would be especially PvE focused. The most missing things in Overwatch 1 were story and scenario modes, we were excited that we would have the opportunity to play the background lore prepared for Overwatch 1 as singleplayer campaigns and taste that world. What came out was a cheap F2P version of Overwatch 1 that was dumbed down and slain with micropurchases. They didn't care to fix Overwatch 1's balance and matchmaking issues either, even worse, they messed up the ranking system further and removed important features. Everything worth playing Overwatch 1 has been thrown away in this second game. 2: Intolerable - Bad enough to make you refund the game.

It was 2008 when Diablo 3 was first announced. That game was widely criticized for its "cartoonish" graphics. Torchlight was made to look similar to those Diablo 3 screenshots and was released in 2009. Until Diablo 3 came out in 2012, we only had Torchlight. This game is not a Diablo 3, Diablo 4, Grim Dawn, Titan Quest, or Dungeon Siege. We do not travel to different geographies on a large map. Rather, it looks a lot like Diablo 1. There is a dungeon consisting of 35 floors, and we are progressing on these floors. If you like Diablo 1, this will offer a very familiar taste. Offering 15-20 hours of gameplay for one character is an enjoyable experience. They have created an adventure that can be played and finished in no time. However, instead of continue developing the game for a long time, they chose to release Torchlight 2 in 2012. That's why playing this for repetitive content may seem meaningless today. Don't have high expectations and you will get some fun. 6: Average - Some may love and talk about it, but nothing more.

It was an enjoyable experience for those looking for puzzle games. The puzzles aren't too challenging, but they're perfect for those looking for creative, light entertainment. The story has interesting points, but it fails to deepen them enough. This leads the story to clichés. The last part of the game was unnecessarily challenging and confusing. It seemed too exaggerated to me compared to the previous difficulty levels. The end of the story was not satisfactory enough either. But the colors and enthusiasm of the level designs made me enjoy the game overall. 7: Above average - It presented what we regularly see in a different way.

Just a Final Fantasy love letter from a NES fan. Yeah, you know, NES is being treated like "the only gaming platform ever" in USA for some years. And Evoland follows that trend by creating a game based on Final Fantasy series. There are a little bit Zelda, a little bit Mana, a little bit FF, just to combine a "history of gaming" for console gamers. We don't see anything related C64/Amiga/DOS games, only the games American NES fans know and love. And as I mentioned above, many aspects of the game - like character names, graphic design, combat mechanics, story concept are all dumbed down version of Final Fantasy stories. If you believe you are in the target audience, go for it. You will like this love letter. As a PC Gamer, I find it very lackluster. 6: Average - Some may love and talk about it, but nothing more.

Combination of Metroidvania, RPG, Hack&Slash and Action Platform in a single game. The story feels very childish, but it presents a tale-like atmosphere inside the game. You can choose different difficulty settings, and this gives you a chance to play with your own play-style. You can taste the story, or just challenge yourself to the max. Character movements are smooth enough, and you regularly get new abilities during the story. You can play the game as a button mashing Hack&Slash, or just an exploring platform game, no matter what is your choice, it gives enough content for that specific purpose. 9: Must play - One of the best games of the year it came out.

Overhyped and boring game. There are many references to the "geekdom", but a reference is not funny or intellectual just because it refers to something, especially if it doesn't contain any context. "Hey look I am Darth Vader and you will call me your Grand Marshal, because I am from Planet Doom and command the Space Marines of Halo!" If you believe this sentence was funny, this game is for you. If not, don't even bother with the boring style of this UnGame. 1: I never understood what they were trying to do. Don't waste your time playing.

More Metroid than Super Metroid. Back to the original NES roots. If you are not a NES fan, you may have hard times on this game. But if you are American and still crazy on the NES-hype train, then this is your kind of drug. Almost no story, direct to the action. However game can be confusing at many times, and either you have to struggle for eternity to solve it, or consult on the Nintendo Power magazine. Rad! 7: Above average - It presented what we regularly see in a different way.

Visually appealing, yet mechanically terrrible game. It is amazing that this game gets "mostly positive" in Steam, yet it is very very weak compared to better Metroidvania style games around here. Doesn't even worth to install this poorly made game. I wish they cared about the mechanics as much as the visuals. Storytelling is weak, and heavily depended on the books we collect around. They didn't even care to implement storytelling to the dialogues or the level design. They used a RPG style level up system inside the Metroidvania style. However combat with mobs are just plain boring. When you hit a monster, the attack doesn't affect it and it continues to walk towards you, and due to delay after your attack, you can't run away from their attacks and take damage for unavoidable reasons. You get movement delays after you attack, yet monsters don't get any delay or stun after getting damaged. This system is plain stupid. Check out Hollow Knight for better combat mechanics. And just to salt the wound, they removed any "combat animations" from the monsters. Monsters simply walk around, and damage you whenever they touch you (even from behind). Waste of time, waste of money. 2: Intolerable - Bad enough to make you refund the game.

It adapts the Metroidvania style with its own dark and and twisted way. It is obvious that developers care about every detail, from the art style to the story telling methods. The only disadvantage is that it can be hard and painful to pass the beginning stage. After that, game helps you in many ways to make itself easier. I am amazed that they even think about dusts falling when we jump on platforms. They really cared about the smallest details. 9: Must play - One of the best games of the year it came out.

Encyclopedic definition of "Corporate Game". This isn't "Marvel's Avengers", it's "Kamala Khan and her Avengers friends". The writing and storytelling are worse than garbage. They apparently tried to copy Mass Effect / The Last of Us for the "epic storytelling vibe", but it just turned into a teen drama TV series. Every famous character acts out of their role and behaves like those cliché TV show characters. The game focuses too much on making Kamala Khan "the one Muslim Girl to keep the Avengers through their dire times"... However, Kamala Khan's over-excited and overly boring behavior creates a forced storytelling in the game. 3: Terrible - It's a pointless game, even for a fan of this genre.

The game is buggy and problematic, yes, but the main missions are perfect and that's enough for me. I loved the atmosphere they created based on the Pen and Paper settings. The graphics were very nice, the characters you talked to were as if you were watching cinematic. Even turning on the 106.9 30 Principales radio channel and wandering around the streets was very enjoyable. It is a shame that they released this game without polishing it completely. The infamy of the bugs masked the good parts of the game. This could be a 10/10 only if they released it after a few years. They rushed to release the game on 2020, and this caused the "over-hype" syndrome for teenager gamers. We, older PC gamers, are used to played buggy games since 90s. But these new generation of gamers only play polished AAA games. That's why this was a risky move, and they failed hard, and RDR2 fans used this failure to bash and mock the game. gg. 8: Very good - It deserves to be popular, although some of its faults are obvious.

Halo 1 is a game overrated for 20 years for no other reason than it was a hyped game in consoles. And like any other overly hyped console game, people don't even care if it was a good game or not and just jump on the hyping bandwagon. People act like we never got games like Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM, DOOM 2, Half-Life, Quake, Quake II, Quake III, Hexen, Heretic, Blood, Blood II, Unreal, Unreal Tournament, System Shock, System Shock II, Deus Ex, Team Fortress Classic, Tribes, Strife, Rise of Triad, Redneck Rampage, SkyNET, Kingpin, Aliens Versus Predator, Requiem Avenging Angel, Turok, Shadow Warrior... We had things like good gameplay, story based action, captivating soundtracks, incredible settings, beautiful sceneries, LAN parties, large mod communities, pure arena multiplayer LOOONG before Halo came to consoles. But the Modern Game Media push this game like the "FIRST FPS GAME EVER" just because it was a console game. And just because it was a console game, people behave like all those PC Games were never happened. Modern Game Media channels LOVE TO neglect PC gaming. Halo 1: Terrible gameplay, terrible gun mechanics, repetitive level design, repetition of same repetitive level design, and repetition of game by backtracking from the same levels to the beginning. But who cares, right? This game is being displayed as the pinnacle of gaming, and we are being forced to act like this. 3: Terrible - It's a pointless game even for a fan of this genre.

Elden Ring was a real disappointment. It is advertised everywhere with 100/100 scores. Nowadays, everyone is playing it, everyone is praising it, and the praises won't even end on every YouTube channels and game review site. I bought it because it was called as "Skyrim + Breath of the Wild" many times. But the result is just frustration. It is obvious that it was made without thinking about the PC. It was designed exclusively with the PS4/PS5 in mind. Gameplay mechanics and combat dynamics did not go beyond the Demon's Souls game I played in 2009. There is no such thing as "Online Co-op". Putting this game under the tag "Online Co-op" is just scam. But hey, "who pays money gets the hype marketing". Yahtzee actually gave the best review: "it's a FromSoftware Dark Souls game, and therefore, good." It is just another Dark Souls game, nothing more. 5: Below average - It may not appeal to everyone, but there are interesting ideas from time to time.

The game looks interesting, but it has a lot of shortcomings. There is so much that has been done without thought. We know "Git Gud" types will defend this game, after all, that's their purpose. First of all, the game crashes on certain systems and becomes unplayable. It needs to be run in DX11 mode and set all graphics settings to the lowest. Despite this, you are constantly seeing the FPS go up and down, lots of stutters, and the game can have response problems. Some weapons are very ineffective, Tachyomatic Carbine makes the game playable, but if you can't reach this weapon, mobs turn into bulletsponges. Gameplay is designed to "take no damage". At the slightest touch, 25% of your health is gone and your attack bonuses get reset. The choices for different player styles are very limited, sometimes the game doesn't even provide health pickups for a long time, and then in some places it offers an unnecessary amount of health pickups. In order to reach the end of the game, it is necessary to maximize your protection, integrity, damage abilities, but in this condition, the end of the game becomes unnecessarily easy. The game you have been playing with pain and sweat suddenly turns into an action snack. They failed to strike that balance. Although, "balance" is easily overlooked in games now, in order to deceive "git gud" players. While the game's storytelling is interesting, they failed to tie the story anywhere. It's not worth playing all that hard. At the end of the game, we see that nothing is explained. 4: Too bad - If you are not particularly enthusiastic about this genre, don't be curious and play.
