Cold Justice: Season 16
Sep 27, 2013
"Cold Justice" may bring some justice to cold cases, but the show itself makes a few fatal flaws. For example, one of the main problems is that it is extremely repetitive. Much of the same facts, and photos, are stated or seen over and over again as if they are somehow new ground-breaking revelations. As a viewer it kind of insults your intelligence. Also, some of the scenes are staged so horrendously that it is embarrassing. If these problems were fixed then the show has potential to succeed, but it appears that may be too late.

The Crazy Ones: Season 17
Sep 27, 2013
The pilot produced mixed feelings. Some moments were laugh out loud funny, but some scenes just fell flat. I think the reason it fell flat was because the pilot felt rushed at points and there was very little character introduction. Additionally, I think the problem is that there may be too much improv thus hampering the story-line. However, one positive aspect of the show is that the casting is perfect! Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar are great together and their chemistry makes their father-daughter relationship seem believable.

Cult: Season 12
Mar 1, 2013
While the description of the show sounded intriguing and perhaps refreshing the actual creative direction and execution is absolutely horrendous. Within the first 15 minutes of the pilot the audience is left (or at least I was) scratching their heads at the bizarre concept. Upon hesitation I continued to watch the pilot, but it only got worse from there ranging from the character's interactions with each other to the ridiculous idea that people are killing themselves over a TV show. Overall, the pilot doesn't even leave any suspense instead it was baffling. Finally, on top of all of this absolutely dreadful plot the acting doesn't get much better either, but what else do you expect from the CW nowadays?

The Following: Season 19
Feb 17, 2013
"The Following" by Kevin Williamson has a premise that is a recycled one no doubt. For example, Kevin's signature death is by being stabbed by a knife which has been consistently overused through his other movies such as Scream. However, what breathes new air into the show is the characters and the cast. Even, the relative newcomers like Adan Canto and Nico Tortorella play extremely convincing roles as tortured souls being manipulated by Joe Carroll. Overall, the show is enjoyable and the plot continues to build each week while still maintaining to delve deeper into each characters past.

Immortalized: Season 13
Feb 17, 2013
AMC should stick to their scripted shows instead of adventuring further into the reality show outlet. Here's the reason: "Immortalized" looks interesting on the face, but once you delve into the show it is poorly executed, boring, incoherent, and practically useless. The term "immortalized" is continually used, but this show certainly won't be immortalized in TV history that's for sure. A combination of it's lackluster judges and host leave the show irritating at times as their continual narration is trivial. Finally, the contestants themselves seem like poorly paid actors trying to spew what is given to them. Overall, this show should be avoided unless you're interested in bore-fests.

Oliver Stone's Secret History of America: Season 15
Jan 10, 2013
Stumbling into the series I was skeptical at first since Oliver Stone is a liberal filmmaker, however, in this series there is very little bias. One thing the series does well is incorporating the film clips from speeches, films, and other historically important event. However, the show contains many issues in relation to it's production which includes the fact that episodes runs a little bit too long resulting in some parts being very repetitive and stale. Overall, the audience will learn a few interesting and important key historical facts from the series and that's about it.

Desperate Housewives: Season 110
Jan 10, 2013
"Desperate Housewives" was something new and refreshing upon it's premiere on ABC in 2004. What made the show so successful was not only the outstanding writing, but the chemistry between the cast members. Each member of the cast was overwhelming able to bring their characters to life and at times made them quite relate-able. Overall, the development in terms of the characters and the story-line (the constant twist and turns were amazingly executed) were quite impressive!

Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23: Season 27
Jan 10, 2013
"Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" still remains to be hilarious, however, some of the wit is missing which is hugely disappoint. Also, there seems to be a lack of character growth especially in Chloe which sometimes leaves the episodes predictable in terms of what she might do. However, there is one character that truly stands out and that is James Van Der Beek. It appears as if he has grown from the rest which helps to make the episodes hilarious due to his truly gifted ability at comedic delivery and timing. Overall, the season seems to be stuck creatively, but it still maintains the ability to deliver weekly laughs. Also, while this does not pertain to the show it should be noted that ABC's scheduling of the show has been chaotic resulting in episodes airing out of order (since it airs twice a week).

Catfish: The TV Show: Season 16
Jan 9, 2013
Even though "Catfish: The TV Show" is not the greatest it still does provide some interesting entertainment especially for a reality show. What makes it interesting is the whole surprise element of the show. If an episode lacks the surprise element then the episode ends up predictable and quite boring which ultimately happened in a few (episode 2, & 5). Another aspect that drives the show is obviously the people. Many of them come off delusional and quite often it feels as if they just made up these "relationships" to get on MTV. Overall, the series is okay since it does offer some surprises, but other than that it is predictable.

Deception: Season 14
Jan 9, 2013
"Deception" starts off promising, but the story-line seems dull, and a bit over-used. Also, within just the first couple minutes of the program a lot of the scenes are extremely weak and not well set-up which leaves the show a tad bit confusing. Additionally, the premise behind the show has a strong aroma of the formula used within ABC's current hit drama, "Revenge" which is more appealing. Finally, the acting especially from Vivian's step-mother and brothers were not that impressive either which also attributed to the dismal launch of this series in my opinion. Overall, the pilot was messy, boring, unnecessary, and filled with sub-par acting (Vivian's family was just plain awful!).
