Tetris Effect

It's a shiny Tetris game. 4K and HDR, or VR do not make Tetris "more fun". The dynamic soundtrack and visuals don't add much either. I think they missed a huge opportunity to re-release Teterisphere, especially in VR. A much overlooked entry in the vast # of Tetris games, this game would have looked great with new visuals/music/gameplay. They could've added a Tetris game with the package. However, for the price tag, Tetris Effect is a no go.

First off, I had to re-rate this game. It's not fun at all. Sure, it's different to have a hack and slash RPG type game for PSVR. That said, the battle system is pretty bad, and copied from numerous other games, so don't expect anything new there. The graphics were about as good as PSVR gets, which is to say, they're OK for PSVR but hardly amazing. Of course there's the RPG elements, which are sufficient, but again they're copied from other games. But the BIGGEST drawback in Preta : Vendetta Rising is the unforgiving grinding. It will take your too many hours of repetitive levels just to get, well I don't even know because I couldn't stand trying anymore. In summary, Preta: Vendetta Rising is a frustrating entry into the PSVR library, I warn you not to waste your money.

Pretty challenging even when you start off on easy. I had put 10+ hours into a colony, only to have it come crashing down over a minor resource allocation. A delight to play until there's something you didn't realize was a major concern catches up to you, which is pretty frustrating. I've started about 4 colonies with only 1 coming close to succeeding (don't forget to keep collecting cement). A tutorial would have been a nice touch, as you end up having to figure the game out on your own. Nonetheless, it's a good sim.

Sprint Vector

Sprint Vector is a winner for me. Unlike some other VR-sports games, this game has fairly good AI competitors to assist you with learning the basics. I'm still working out the basics since there are a lot of button/movement combos that you need to master to just get through some courses. Graphically, well it's a PSVR game, don't expect much here. It's bright and colorful, and you'll be too busy swinging your arms to notice the lack of detail. But in a nutshell here's what its like: it's like standing on a skateboard or chair with wheels and you can't use your feet, you have to push and turn yourself with your hands, like using ski poles, instead. While pushing yourself along with your hands, you must also jump, drift, "fly", etc using your hands. And if you're not in shape, the first few sessions are going to hurt later on. Now add weapons, power-ups, etc. It gets pretty hectic to say the least. Multiple routes in each course allow you to finish the basic way, or the advanced way. Although I still find myself stuck in corners from time to time as turning your sprinter is a little awkward. So why not a 10? Voice acting. Imagine an annoying futuristic wealthy-brat versus tv host robot. It's not a good combo and gets old fast. Also, mastering the more advanced button/movement combos could take a while. And like I mentioned, the graphics are a tad underwhelming. But overall, a fun PSVR experience.

This game had a lot of cool features going for it but for the most part it feels unfinished. Did the developers give up? Not a well balanced, enjoyable game at all. Would STRONGLY not recommend.

At first I thought SPARC was fun while everyone was figuring it out when it was first released. Now all I usually find are elite players in the beginners room and I end up rage quitting after one round. A ranking system that prevents elite players in the beginners room, more than one play area per room, and maybe an AI opponent would make this a better package. As is, it's not worth getting your butt kicked by the elites players almost every single time.
