I bought this game over 2 years ago and still playing it every 2-3 months. I've seen good reviews on the game itself so i'll just spend a couple of words about the development, these guys did a wonderful job going from the first alpha to the full version (1.0) released this month: monthly updates via youtube videos, scheduled bug bashing and performance improvements always on time and true respect for community feedback, this game is a model of how the "alpha" concept should be used, during the last year I've purchased 2 extra copies of the game as birthday gifts for friends and will surely consider buying any new product introversion puts out in the future given this positive experience. Developers promised to add new features to the game in the next months and given how they behaved in the last 3 years i've no doubts they will.

This is one of a few games that could be properly called art but requires a seasoned taste for gaming to be fully appreciated. There are not adrenalinc actions or fantastic stories to be found here, the story is beautiful but quite difficult to fully understand without patience and a good spirit of observation. I understand how this can be boring for someone who's been playing videogames for 5-6 years, i've been playing for 20+ and honestly "her story" was a breath of fresh air. And It's well worth the price so it's a 9/10 for me.

The game is in fact still in beta, the basic structure is there and it's solid but both the gameplay and the content will need a lot of work before we can judge the final product. ED promises an open, immense, unforgiving world where the player has total freedom (and no safe nets), something we have seen already in games like EVE or DayZ and is very appealing, but it doesn't offer enough complexity to support that kind of experience. At the moment the main two strong points of the game are the flight/fight system (the only part of the game that feels like a finished product) and the scientific appeal that visiting a real 1:1 model of the known galaxy might have for some users, provided you have a tablet to spice up the journey with wikipedia. All other features are at embryonic state: -mining, trading and exploring are the only gameplay mechanics available outside fighting and are so simple that they could all be explained in detail in 2 pages. -stations and ships models are not enough for an open world, they become repetitive after few days. -ships equipment features few weapons and even fewer utility components, most of which are organized in tiers with an obvious best choice that makes all others intermediate steps to the most expensive piece. -the factions system (that's supposed to simulate the political struggles between NPC's factions, giving the player a chance to interact) is, again, too simple, a 15 minutes video on youtube will explain all you all there is to be known. All this simplicity means you'll master the game mechanics in a couple of weeks (except dogfight), from there on is just a matter of how many hours you are willing to trow at the game doing the same things over and over. As Scott Manley said: "it's a mile wide and an inch deep", if it manages to go a little deeper in the next year it'll be a great game, maybe the best space sim ever made (we'll see what SC has to offer) At the moment i wouldn't suggest the purchase of the game except for Elite series enthusiasts and Oculus Rift owners

A great concept ruined by irresponsible and greedy management of the sales division, progressing thorough the game without paying money is just painful and even few bucks will not do the trick, making it in fact a pay to win. Not that you cannot unlock most of the features just by playing, but it will take minutes to do something with money and days, if not even weeks, to do it for free. Such a divide is unacceptable and in my opinion makes it a pay to win. Developers admitted that they aim for the 50% victory of attackers at all levels, this produces a lazy nerfing and buffing dance that goes on from patch to patch taking away a lot of the depth the game could have had. Overall it feels like the team is much more focused in getting money rather than producing a title worth playing and that's a shame. I don't recomend you to spend time on this, (and for the love of god, don't spend your money on this)

Good graphic, nice voice acting, solid story. It's obvious how the developers used Arkham as model for the fighting system and assassin's creed for the move and stealth part, which are both excellent systems. Open world of fair dimensions, not the biggest nor the most entertaining but good enough. The Nemesis system is awesome and will set a new standard for AI management. Despite all these good features the games lacks longevity, mostly because there isn't much outside the main story, the "side quests" (small fight challenges or collection of items all similar to each other) are boring and the Nemesis is useless when the player becomes so powerful that even the highest level orc capitans are totally not a threat, even when faced without explointing their weak sposts. This, combined with the intention from the developers to release a ton of DLCs in the future holds the title from the great game it could have been. expect to play around 20 hrs (the main story takes less than 10) and then leave the game. I wouldn't reccomend the purchase in this moment, wait few months and pay the same price for the game+the first DLCs and you'll get a much better and long lasting experience.
