2023 REVIEW*
At this point is a great game, impressive graphics, 10/10 story and characters, one of the best triple A so far, maybe the second best game out there after RDR2.
Story: 10
Characters: 10
Gameplay: 6
Skill system: 6
The best story and characters u can find with a few very iteresting systems and others not so good...
If u have patience u gonna enjoy this game.
The best strategy game so far, very deep, unusual and interesting systems, beautiful graphics and a great DLC.
If u like strategy games u need to try this, NOT 2205.
Great game, easy to play, beautiful art, great characters, interesting history but some aspects could be better.
Ur 8 year old son or ur 50 years dad gonna enjoy this game.
Cool game, chess like but u get the hang of it with a few hours, prepare to become addicted but u prob gonna get bored soon.
The main menu could be better.
Like any Paradox game it needs LOTS of DLCs to become playable and enjoyable, and the price goes up.
The game idea is good, many interesting aspects but i cant really recommend a paradox game unless you already have played one.
Amazing game, a much better AC approach adding the option to fight the oponents or assassing them, u choose.
Great open world, great main character and story.
Second best AC after Odissey.
NO Witch Doctor, my main in D3... Played all classes to at least lvl 20 but i couldnt like any class besides sorcerer wich i played to lvl 60 (a bit fun to play) leveled necromancer to lvl 50 but didnt liked it, besides sorcerer all classes seems unfun and badly made.
The content get boring really fast and the grind is huge, kinda hard to get unique itens, gave up playing barbarian cause i realised i would have to play dozens of hours just to get the item i needed to play wrilwind barbarian, didnt hooked on any class enought to keep playing, didnt even seen the paragon board...
Will only play again when (and if) they bring back the witch doctor, at least i would have the class fantasy to stick with...
I regret wasting my money on this. Bad gameplay, the character moves slowly/clumsy and have some problems with object collision, jumping from objects and other things, irritating at all times, even the horse moves worse than in Odyssey. Item system is terrible, half a dozen itens you take too much time to acquire, expensive to upgrade and boring/unusefull affixes (they are also uglier). Change appearance system is horrible, how could them change from a perfect system like in Odissey to this? You not only have to pay for it but its expensive, in only one place and after a irritating menu wall. The graphics are the same as in Odissey with negletable improving in some areas but England is so much uglyer than Greece i feel depressed after playing a few hours. The map is terrible to walk around, irritating stone fences everywhere, beautiful landscapes are scarce, they probably fired the photography guy when they finished Origins... But even Odyssey has better mapping. Well but there are good things, the system where u have to cloak yourself in some places and mingle with the locals. The instant assassination option in the menu is a plus. Fishing option is good but must be flawless, after you fish in RDR2 you cant fish anywhere anymore. Also the option to use many different weapon combinations (but with less different strike options). But they also got rid of good systems like marking enemy's with ur bird (like wtf?) and other cool things. The skill tree is also boring with boring +x status abilities and other things not worthing your time to open the menu and get. The flawless difficulty system from Odyssey where u could make all enemys your lvl and adjust separately the combat dificulty and assassination are gone... The quests also look less interesting than in Odyssey (they feel more childish).
A well made AAA rpg game, close to perfection in all aspects. For those crying A.C. is dead, the stealth gameplay is still there for those who want to play it but you can also play a combat and shooting gameplay as well! A HUGE and beautifull world, with infinite gameplay due to repeating mechanics and hundreds of hours if u want to do all things, there are tons of things to do. Great characters and interesting story, the main character Kassandra if one of the best character so far, so great as Origin's one. Very good gameplay, close to flawless and very fluid. Great graphics The best A.C. so far. (even better than Valhalla, much better)
I gave zero score because of a problem who made this game unplayable for me, the movement system. Not the combat movement system who is reasonable (maybe even good). But the character normal and horse riding movement. The game is excellent, the world is beautiful, the quests are excellent, the story, etc but when i try to enjoy all of it Geralt remembers me of how unnatural, frustrating and wrong he can move. This is the worst thing can happen in games, a game who os 99% perfect but have that ONE irritating thing who will never change. Couldn't they make he move like in DOZENS of successful games like Fallout or Skyrim? Is that difficult?
Well, i had a relation of love and hate with this game. First i played it on normal for a few hours, good game, delicious immersive world and hunting/crafting system. Then i deleted my char and made one in SURVIVING mode (u must delete one to make another on Xone). Well, the survival mode have some excellent things who could make it one of the best games i ever played and some disgraceful things who completely ruined the game for me, because of the bad things i got angry with it and eventually stopped playing it. -Less resources and animals: excellent, now the world looks more realist and the hunting better. -Stamina bar: excellent idea, makes the game more realist. -No minimap: should be optional but i can deal with the loss. -Permadeath of companions: well, looks very realist and i can deal with it BUT... there are glitches who kills companions, can't imagine nothing more irritating... -Harder to tame: ok, sounds reasonable. -Mounting fatigue: realistic. -Reduced loot capability, longer crafting duration, etc...: good. Now there's the bad changes. -Nightime, longer nights: annoying, i don't wanna play a beautiful game like this at night... -More predators at night: What was already bad now its worse. -Darker night: Because **** those who can't see well and all other who play with the room lights on. And the worst of all changes. -Companions have reduced health: Jesus christ, its not only unrealistic, it exists with the sole intention to f**k with you, after spending 20min to chase and tame a grown up cave bear and almost die in the process because now its harder to tame, your bear is WEAKER than a wild bear... Sometimes it can die fighting another weaker animals... For me this was the change who made the game unplayable, they got the best thing the game had (companions) and made them weaker than normal ones and now have permadeath. Whats more frustrating is that they could simply make all of this changes optional, this would make everyone happy but no.
I bought it in 4/19 so with all heroes already unlocked. First, i don't know why i even still buy fps games on console (that's because i don't own a good pc) because its a S**t to play with a controller plus there are ppl who uses mouse+keyboard and thats frustrating so i will make my analysis ignoring this fact. The graphic are ok. The maps are quite small... The battle points system sounds good but its only good for the above average players who manage to get enough points and use them properly. If you are bad you will never get one, and if you get you will die fast with if because... well, you are bad... Also on the first pvp matches you will notice being killed by people with 3 top cards while you have we'll... zero. This system is a disgrace for online gaming, should be like Overwatch were all players can get all heroes and the only diference is the player's ability. Couldn't pass the second map of the campaign (space fight) because i **** at piloting the ships with a controller to the point i barely kill one or two enemy ships till the time runs off. So i can't talk about the campaign. Arcade mode is a very good idea, a game with divided screen 2019 is most welcome to play with a friend but there are a few maps and the maps are quite small...
I was thinking it was the best page i ever played until chapter 4 developed... The story is good, nothing better than good. The hunting system is great, the better i ever played, there are sometimes more animals on the map than it should have but i thing its not too much unbalanced because some of them aren't easy to catch and they run if they see u coming, could be improved but is one of the best parts of the game. The fishing system is relaxing and cool but i think that takes too long to catch big fishes but i may be a bad fisherman (have to watch videos to see if im doing something wrong), but its also one of the best parts of the game. The gather system is good and varied. The crafting system is varied but not very easy to understand because of its many vendors, ingredients, i think it could be arranged in a better way but also its the best i ever seen and one of the best things in the game. All of those systems and other parts of the game are negatively compromised by the long animations (they should still exist but be skippable), there should be a hard mode with some options to choose like less loot, slightly less animals to hunt, necessity to eat and sleep and so on, all of this you could choose separately and not as a single thing like on farcry primal. The graphics are amazing, the weather, light is superb an also the architecture and map details. There are many glitches specially on horse when u try to jump something and u don't... The story is... well, i don't liked the major change who occurs i the end of chapter 6, its very... annoying in the post game. Some missions are great, other not at all like chapter 5 who appears to be taken from a farcry game, completely different from the previous chapters who looks like a more mature (and better) game. The weapons are excellent visually, really great, its variety and the fact they are not excessively more powerful than other is great. BUT the weapon system... god lord... they could have made as simple as farcry when u can store all weapons on your house and choose one of each to walk around and don't force you to search around dozens of different weapons every minute or even allow you to sell them what would be perfect (is that ask for too much?) this is the single most annoying thing on this game, without this problem this game would be much much better. Also physics are interesting, like walking on snow or mud is great but for example when you aim and between you and your target there is an object but you see that the projectile trajectory wouldn't pass trough that object but even so the shot hits it its frustrating. I would give a 9 but its frustrating and irritating when companies make very good games with small annoying problems who are never solved like The Witcher with the movement problem on console, that like they don't care about the costumer because the game is already a success and the are swimming on money.
