This is a great showcase for the working applications of the red crustacean, as there are 11 different types of lobsters that you can get and sell as sushi to make money. Alongside that there is an event that encourages you to spread the love and awareness of the red clad hero, being the Lobster Party, which is one of the more varied events in terms of food, only topped by more eccentric seafood, such as the shark, or more common ingredients like tuna. While it doesn't have a lobster boss or a grand quest that involves the lobster, the ever present importance and accessibility of lobsters rank this game as a solid appearance from the main crawlers of the sea.
While not an important part of the game, it does shine in a few smaller roles. This is one of the potential food items that you can get from crab pots. When you get them, there is a few things to do with them. Raw they are hated by most NPCs, but are loved by one of the potential romance options, being Elliot. His love for lobsters is unparalleled, so much so, that if you have the Statue of Endless Fortune, on Elliot's birthday, you can manifest 1 free Lobster. You can also get one if you have max friendship with a Pet Turtle. Either cooking it into a Lobster Bisque or smoking it, leads to much better results, as many of the residents like this gift. It is also a small part in the overarching quest of completing the community center, as one of the bundles is the crab pot bundle, which in turn is part of the bigger quest of fixing the Fish Tank. Fixing the fish tank, allows the removal of the glittering boulder, which gives you access to panning. As stated at the start, this is not an important part of the grand game that is ****, but it does an adequate job in giving the respect that the hard shelled crustacean deserves.
This game has an badass name, being the Rock Lobster, being a reference to the B-52s hit song by the same name, as a fishing drop. These can be used to cook into Lobster Tails, which are pretty good food item, giving some strong buffs, in the form of Plenty Satisfied, which gives medium improvements to all stats. This also is a unique seafood dish, and one of the best ones in this category. This however is not an exclusive buff to the Lobster Tails, and not even the best form of the buff, being Exquisitely Stuffed, which can be gotten from some more easily accessible items, such as the burger.
In spite of the fact that this game takes place high up in the sky, away from the natural habitat, you can find some small crumbs of rep, in the form of a Lobster Pepper Plant. While it does not at all look like our crustacean friends, it mentions them by name. This is used in a few recipes, that can be useful for either satiety or curing meningitis. These are at the end of the day, very insignificant parts of the game, as you can also use other items to do the same effect.
While there are no lobsters to be found in the vast ocean of this game, Link DOES start the game with the Outset Outfit, that has a lobster on the front and back. While in the first playthrough this quickly gets replaced with the iconic green tunic, in the Second Quest, you get the Hero's New Clothes, which are invisible and have Link rep the glorious king of the seas throughout his adventure, even coming with changed dialogue, despite Medli so rudely mischaracterizing the lobster as a crawfish. Despite that blunder, Having the lobster get representation in the form of clothing, especially on the main character is nice. They do not go far enough with this, as having a few lobsters in the vast ocean would bump this game up a few points.
The main attraction is the mechanical monster by the name of Heavy Lobster. He plays a pivotal role in one of the more beloved campaigns, being Revenge of Meta Knight. They are the reason as to why Kirby could not destroy the Halberd immediately on his first visit, as they could stall enough time to have the thrusters blow Kirby away. There is also some build up in the fight, in the initial platforming section. They are also one of few bosses that have their own theme. Outside Revenge of Meta Knight, they appear in Milky Way Wishes as an alternate skinned silver version, and appears in the Arena as one of the bosses, and exclusive to Superstar Ultra, they appear as a boss in Meta Knightmare, but with significant downplayed importance. While not the greatest showing for our beloved subject, Heavy Lobster is a leader in the spread of awareness, and a staple in the discussion of video game lobster kind.
While not the most important role, lobsters do serve a beneficial role in getting 3 skeleton keys each time they are traded to the head chef, which are useful in the early to mid game parts of Hades to build out your Mirror of Night. Even after you max out your mirror of night, Skeleton keys can be used to trade for Nectar, in a time where quests can become sparse for Skeleton keys, and you would want to go for other resources more in your runs, such as boons or darkness. The main thing is that it's not the only source of skeleton keys, and those resources become less important as the game goes on, therefore we can't score this game any higher.
This game shines a very short spotlight on the subject at hand. Our favorite starving artist, Yusuke, is the main person to show off the majesty of the lobster, as he out of nowhere, pull 2 of them out while the other guys are doing some less important work, like hitting on women. However this is a short lived showcase of the lobster, and as such we can not give any further credence to the game.

While part of the reward might not interest some (mainly swimsuits), it's more about the journey of finding all of the plush lobsters, carefully, and cleverly scattered throughout the story from Chapters 3 to 11. The finale of the side quest, presents an interesting dilemma, in that you must either submit to the narrative of defeating a malignant evil, or spare the enthusiast for your shared love of lobsters. No matter which route you pick though, you get to display your love for the majestic creature, in the form of figurines, which is the main reward for this quest. As such, no lower score can be given to this masterpiece. This will be enshrined in the hall of fame for all Crustacean kind.
