Boxville 28

I’ve been waiting a long time for the second part of this really great puzzle game. Once again, the game was fantastic, both in terms of graphics and puzzle design. It felt a bit longer than the first installment, but I could have easily handled a game several times that length. I really enjoyed it.

It's a really nice puzzle game, so I was actually a little sad when I finished it. The game is pretty short, but I definitely recommend it.

Dude, Where Is My Beer?5
May 18, 2026
I haven’t been a beer drinker for a long time, but this game looked really nice at first glance. I like this art style, so I decided to give it a try on the Nintendo Switch. It’s probably a good game, perfect for playing with a mouse on a PC, but I struggled with the gamepad for hours until I had to quit. The developers probably didn’t even test the controls, because they’re unusable, frustrating, and totally ruined my gaming experience. I want to give the game another chance and maybe try it on PC, because otherwise I enjoyed it.

Scott Whiskers in: the Search for Mr. Fumbleclaw5
May 18, 2026
I was really looking forward to this adventure game. It had generated quite a buzz in the adventure gaming community, so I had high expectations. The graphics aren’t really my cup of tea, but that’s okay, I enjoy playing indie games. However, the game has truly endless dialogue, and you have to listen to and read tons of sometimes unnecessary lines just to move forward. The game was funny at times, but the humor got lost in the sea of words. It was a challenge to get through the game, and unfortunately, I didn’t even manage to finish it. At one point, I got stuck in the game, and even the walkthrough didn't help. Maybe I forgot to talk to someone, but I did spend quite a bit of time on it. It's not a bad game, but I'd rather play than read.

I really enjoyed this adventure game. It’s pretty gritty, but funny at the same time. The story unfolds gradually, and details are revealed along the way. I had a lot of fun with it. I definitely recommend it.

The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk6
May 18, 2026
At first, I liked this sequel more than the first game. So I happily dove into the game, and it looked like it was going to be a great experience. Unfortunately, the game crashes when loading the final chapter, and it’s impossible to finish it. Unfortunately, the game only has autosave, so it’s not possible to try a different way or figure out where I went wrong. The developers haven’t responded at all. It’s a shame, because otherwise it’s a nice adventure game.

Kathy Rain: Director's Cut8
May 18, 2026
This point-and-click adventure appealed to me with its atmosphere reminiscent of 90s games such as the Gabriel Knight detective series. Once again, I immersed myself in investigating a mystery that affected the family of the main character, Kathy. Gradually, we learn more and more details that paint a bizarre picture of the circumstances surrounding the case. The game has a lot of dialogue, but it is quite concise and we don't learn any unnecessary information that just overwhelms us and leads nowhere. Overall, I liked the game. At first, it's a bit difficult to get used to the Nintendo Switch controls, which are a little unconventional. But after a few screens, you get used to it and then there's no problem. I recommend the game.

Creaks9

You can always expect graphically perfect games from Amanita Design. This time, it's more of a puzzle game than the adventure games we're used to from this studio. The game is actually a simple puzzle game wrapped in very nice artistic graphics, where you move between levels as if in a platformer. All in all, it's a beautiful graphic puzzle game that will keep you entertained for an afternoon. The game has a lot of smaller mini-games hidden in it, which you don't have to play, but they complement the overall story. This game is also language-independent, so there is no need for dubbing or subtitles. I recommend it.

Sumatra: Fate of Yandi7
May 18, 2026
This game pleasantly surprised me. I like pixel art and indie games, and this one combines them beautifully. I really enjoyed playing it. The game gradually develops in different locations, and it's enjoyable to play until the end. I would give it an even higher rating, but the developers seem to have neglected the sound design a bit. There is no background music, and I would have liked to hear more sound effects. Even so, I can highly recommend this game to fans of point-and-click adventure games.

Simon the Sorcerer Origins6
May 18, 2026
The first adventure game about Simon came out many years ago, and I really liked it, both for its concept and the main character's wit. It was a true pixel art point-and-click adventure game. That's why I was even more excited when I found out that a sequel had been released on Nintendo Switch. The game has fairly nicely drawn comic book characters, but even they are not consistent. They differ in terms of boundaries and sharpness. The game has interesting background graphics. I'm not a big fan of this style, but I can appreciate that it's something a little different. The weakness is the added zoom, which at times brings the background so close that you can see the blurred edges of the low resolution. That's a big shame. So far, these are basically minor complaints, and I would give the game over 80%. The story, the plot, the puzzles, everything would be great if... the authors hadn't totally ruined it with the final puzzle/boss. It's absolutely unplayable on Nintendo or a controller, and the phrase "This is not my idea of fun" takes on a whole new meaning because it's endlessly frustrating. Every mistake means you have to play again, there's no clear procedure, and you have to keep trying... Endless frustration that ruined the whole gaming experience of an otherwise great game. I definitely recommend the game, but for the final battle, find a guide or play it on a PC with a mouse.

Syberia: The World Before3
May 16, 2026
As a longtime fan of Syberia and Syberia II, I expected Syberia: The World Before to be a return to classic adventure gameplay, but instead I got more of an interactive film. The game features genuinely beautiful 4K graphics and a strong atmosphere, but it is buried under an excessive number of cutscenes and offers very little real interaction - most locations feel like untapped potential, where you can move around but rarely do anything meaningful. Compared to the first two games, it lacks the emphasis on logical puzzles, exploration, and the feeling that the player is actively shaping the experience. The result is a title that looks excellent visually but fails as a game.

The Hand of Glory6
May 16, 2026
I was really looking forward to this game. From the preview, it looked like a classic point-and-click adventure, so I started playing. The game is divided into two parts, and the creators promise around 15 hours of gameplay. It looked like a classic detective story, but it unnecessarily plays on emotions with its obscure plot and, despite the humor, unnecessary ending. But I still like it.

Angelo and Deemon: One Hell of a Quest6
May 16, 2026
I was really looking forward to this adventure game. Nice graphics, interesting theme, funny dialogues. Right at the beginning, the game forced me to do something I didn't want to do—go to number 6, even though as a player I know it's 9 :) But I understand. The game has pretty good controls for individual items when you can't target an item with the cursor. Single-click controls is simple, but you can make item combinations. I was a little disappointed that the game always responds with the same phrases, even when you logically use the items that are available but don't work. That was a little frustrating. A nice feature is Sara on the phone, who advises you when you get stuck. However, the game was fun and I was quite sorry when it ended. I recommend it for an afternoon spent playing.

Drowning Cross6
May 16, 2026
I really liked the look of this game. It reminds me of early point and pixel art adventure games from the 90's. The controls were a bit unintuitive, but after a while you can get used to it. The game has quite an unconventional (a bit LGBT) story, which surprised me not only with its ending. Overall I liked the game, but it's probably not for everyone.

Earthworms6
May 16, 2026
I enjoyed playing Earthworms. It's a bit buggy and sometimes the characters say information that is already resolved (the scientist who wants to take a picture of the glasses wants to do the same quest again, even though it's done). Sometimes things disappear from the inventory (microscope spots) and other bugs. But still the game had a nice horror atmosphere and reminded me a bit of Dark Seed.

Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded9
May 16, 2026
I like all the Larry games that have been released. So I like to reminisce about the early PC XT creations. So this experience was no different - it was really great. The graphics and music were brilliantly improved (original music by the author Larry). The author himself even played in the game (in the entrance to the hotel). Overall the game is very funny with a slight erotic line.

Pixel Boy 2 - The Castle Revenge8
May 16, 2026
I generally enjoy puzzle games and like to play games like Sokoban. This is such a distant clone of Sokoban, when it is necessary to transport one (red) box to the target and along the way you have, of course, a lot of problems that need to be solved. There are no enemies or time limit in the game, so you have time to solve the problems. But even so, it's not easy. The game has 96 levels, which are very difficult. If you want to get started, download Pixel Boy 1. More than half of the levels there are more like tutorials.

Roberta Williams' Phantasmagoria8
May 16, 2026
Phantasmagoria is a unique point and click adventure game. It was something unseen in its time. The game is completely cinematic, including the motion of the protagonist, and it was one of the most expensive games of its time from the legendary Sierra Online studio. The game is shocking, but definitely worth playing, at least for educational reasons. And also in terms of concept, game elements, plot, atmosphere, graphics or music. It's excellent study material.

Darkestville Castle9
May 16, 2026

Thimbleweed Park10
May 16, 2026
I have to admit that Thimbleweed Park is one of the best adventure games I've ever played. It contains some interesting elements like changing between different characters, giving items between them, etc. It does have some flaws, where information is shared between characters, but the inventory is not. Nevertheless, it makes the game really interesting and at the same time quite hard. I had several stuck points in the game. For example, I didn't understand what to do with an empty bottle when there are no recycling containers in the city :) Or how to catch a rat. But even so, the puzzles are logical and definitely interesting and have an idea. The game has very nice pixel art graphics and the look of old Maniac Mansion games. I definitely recommend the game especially to die-hard fans of point and click adventure games.

Voodoo Detective8
May 16, 2026
Very nice detective adventure game with voodoo plot. I really appreciate the voice of the main character, I liked it very much. Also there is great music in the game (recorded by orchestra). It was quite chatty for my taste, but a lot of the dialogue is part of the detective story. But I much prefer to solve different riddles and combinations of objects rather than constant dialogues with many characters in the game. Overall it was fun though.
