Kiln is what happens when you take a fun idea, a trusted studio, and a ton of aesthetic polish but have nothing to show for it. As it stands, this game from what I can tell has essentially no content! There is one mode! You make a series of handmade vases/cups/bottles/bowls that grant you with a different special move and size, and your put into a 4v4 match where you have to fully extinguish the opponent’s fire kiln 3 times first to win. There is no single player campaign, no ranked modes, that’s the whole game! The online servers are very laggy too. It feels like you have to learn how to deal with the game running at 47fps if you wanna play. If you can look past that, is the mode itself good? Yeah sure! But this is the type of game that you’ll play about 5 matches of and after that, you basically have seen everything this has to offer after no more than an hour! The only thing you unlock from leveling up by playing is more options to further craft and customize your pots. Kiln is not a game. It’s an online mode that provides nothing more than a demo! The fact that it’s $20 is wild! Despite all the charm, for what it offers to the player you’d expect it to be $5, if not free to play. If they keep the game in the state and asking price this is, it will go out by the end of the week. Pun completely intended!

I am beyond baffled by the amount of praise this game gets. The only thing that’s even remotely good about it is the story, which if you ask me is the least important part of a video GAME. It’s not like it requires people passionate about games or talented developers to write a solid narrative. That could belong in any media! The game itself is way too slow paced and heavily oversaturated with back-to-back cutscenes that makes even the opening moments last over an hour before you truly engage in the gameplay! The combat isn’t impactful and causes even the easiest enemies that you defeat in 2 turns to somehow still feel spongy since action commands and critical hits don’t really exist. The setup for said combat system is convoluted! The menus are all style and no substance to the point where choosing your attack move feels as lousy and uncertain as using a special move or going through 10 different skill trees just to upgrade your character’s stats the way you want to. The world appears to be vast, but exploration isn’t rewarding because of these bad upgrade systems and often doesn’t even exist in the first place! I just can’t see anything in the gameplay to make this feel like a comfortable, worthwhile experience as a player. It feels like these people wanted to make an emotional blockbuster-level Netflix fantasy show but decided to turn it into a game at the last minute to attract a wider audience!

This is easily the best Mario Party game to date! All the boards are massive with multiple gimmicks and there are lots of unlockables allowing for replay value. Only mild gripe I have is that the game can be a bit slower than Superstars, but that’s at least forgiving seeing how much is added to the board game mode and you can exit and resume later if you run out of time

Another year. Another game. Another train wreck. Give it up already EA! #nfldropea

This game is certainly not a return to form for the series, but it has a lot of bright personality and kept me smiling throughout the whole experience! Go into this game with an open mind, and you will probably enjoy it for what it is!

Super amazing game l with such lovable characters! Can get slightly frustrating from time to time but it is so satisfying to overcome a difficult task to collect the next Jiggy. Guh-huh!
