Owns a place in my top 3 games of all time easily. This soulslike metroidvania is the strongest in its genre. Hollow Knight offers a great gameplay loop with great characters, upgrades, and best of all its bosses. Hollow Knight has some of the hardest yet best crafted bosses of any game, its difficulty only being rivaled by the giants of soulslikes such as Dark Souls and Elden Ring. Overall Hollow Knight is a great game and 100% worth playing If you can handle the difficulty.
Kirby Air Riders is a great game with a good amount of content. My single issue with it is that the game doesn't have much to do outside of creating machines and racing in the 3 different modes. Yes, there are some mini-games but these are only accessible through the story mode.
Metr- Hollow Knight is the best metroidvania of the decade, and dare I say ever. Though I got my hands on the game nearly 7 years after it's initial release, it did not dim the magic of a first time playthrough. The mystery of the world of Hallownest is so deep and intricate, that the whole game draws you in like a moth to a flame (yes the pun is intended).
The characters are almost as deep as deepnest and the areas to explore are so vast you could see this as an open world game, despite it's flat nature. The ending had me in shock, and my hands were shaking for several minutes after I put the game down, which I think is a good thing. Overall, the only flaw with this game is the unnecessary runbacks for what could be seen as challenging bosses like the Soul Master and Watcher Knights. Great work Team Cherry, you've created a game that will go down in history.
Pokemon Ultra Moon (and by extension ultra sun) is in my opinion the one of if not the best pokemon games of all time, easily passing Sword and Shield with their N64 esque graphics. Pokemon Ultra Moon provides a fleshed out experience in the Alola region, highlighting your journey through the island trial to become the very best. You perform the customary ritual of choosing your starter, as with every Standard pokemon game, and the choices for this game are great at showing off what this region has to offer. Poplio, the joyous sea lion, Litten, the kitten that will soon evolve into a tournament ruining champion, and rowlet, the dapper owl. Great work Game Freak, your last success before the series collapsed in the switch era.
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time is a game about time that is TIMELESS. Kinda funny how this game that is almost 30 years old is still played by millions of people. There are so many arguments that one could make for Ocarina Of Time being the greatest game of all time, but where this game is the strongest is its story. This game's story is peak narrative in a game, and I'm honestly surprised they haven't made a movie adaptation of this specific game yet. The only weakness I can think of is the water temple, and it really isn't even that bad. You don't even need to talk to that many people before finding out that one of them played Ocarina of Time all the way through. This game is peak, ten outta ten.
