I've had and played WC3 for years but stopped playing, and I don't have the CD anymore, but I always had it installed. I decided to get back into it but it wouldn't let me play on both the classic and new launcher, so I made a support ticket. Support ticket transcript: Me: I had classic Warcraft 3 for a long time but I'm having trouble starting it now. I haven't touched it for some time, so I assume the forced Reforged update broke it as it did for others. Running "Warcraft IIIFrozen ****" and "Warcraft ****" gives me: "The code execution cannot proceed because **** was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." Reforged WC3, after attempting to log in: "There was an error in handling the request." I don't know how to reinstall the classic version, because I don't have the CD key anymore. Though I really just want to play classic Warcraft 3, the one I had already installed on my hard drive for years, instead of Reforged. If you can find the CD key you can reinstall things with the CD, but the only supported game client is now Warcraft: Reforged. Unfortunately the only way to play Warcraft III now would be to add a Reign of Chaos CD key to your **** account if you can still find it or to purchase Warcraft III: Reforged. I understand that you were able to play the game without the CD key in the past, but unless you have a Reign of Chaos or Reforged game license on your **** account it is no longer possible to play Warcraft III. WTF. They literally just pushed an update, then stopped me from playing both versions. The launcher recognizes I have the game, it knew I did enough to force the Reforged update, but apparently they don't, and won't let me play unless I buy it again or get the CD I don't have, even though I installed it years ago and was able to play it for years. I'm not giving them any more of my money. I would literally have to pirate it so I could play the game I legitimately bought. It's not good business practice to stop people from playing an already bought and installed game. This has to be violating some law. I literally got robbed.
