It's rather disheartening but expected to see so many users gave up on day one, including the harsh first "critic" review. As per Egosoft's standard practice, the game is by no means finished. As someone who's followed their series since X2, I've come to expect great things to come as they have always shown dedication and commitment to their designs. Even the much maligned Rebirth, which in my view was sadly beyond repair, has since become reasonable. Pros: Complex background simulator that produces consequences to reach all corners of the universe Improved flight model over previous games Travelling doesn't take too long but isn't instant Widest variety of customisations so far Cons: Ship graphics are average at best UI is very poor as it is The universe and the choice of ships are rather limited (only five types of xenon?) This game is good with faults on release, and with patience will likely become great with far fewer faults over 2019. It has slightly exceeded my expectations.

I really want to recommend this game. It's a more immersive shooter than any of the Call of Duty series, and the way the game is made requires logical thinking and tactical strategies to win rounds with your teammates. When the game goes well, it's buckets of fun. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this game to newcomers. There are many reasons for this. First of all, unless you plan to mill around in deathmatch or the other lesser-played game modes (so anything but casual/competitive), you're going to die, a lot. And then you wait. You watch your uncooperative anonymous Russian teammates slowly break apart and lose the rounds in the most ludicrious fashion. If you can stand the game long enough to become half decent at it, you may find that you can often shoot someone in the head, literally tracing the bullet into their cranium, only to see that it doesn't register the hit due to the sub-standard 64 tickrate matchmaking servers and/or your West Country internet connection, thus falling victim to yet another unfair situation. If your internet connection is not the problem, you may try using ESEA or Faceit to play your competitive matches with. So you can pay more to play the game for no benefit other than to escape the crap quality of the standard servers, or faff about on Faceit, waiting for the afk team captains to pick maps, or the other team to cower away during the initial deciding knife round. After a few bad experiences, I've decided that Faceit isn't worth the hassle. Playing competitive also puts you in danger of not only numerous wallhackers, but mainly these things called smurfs. Put the image of the little happy blue creature out of you head: these are the players with a high rank than make second accounts to play against easier opponents. It's that simple, yet it's infuriating and game-destroying for us lower ranked players. And when you discover this in a competitive game, your only choices are to stay there and endure it, gradually losing your sanity, or take a competitive ban. If you're lucky enough to have decent friends, they may just kick you from the game, sparing you of either choice. Having played almost 3 solid week's worth of the game in total, I have accumulated a wide friend group who also shares my pain, but we still play together for the social side. This is when I can recommend the game, if you've already played a lot of it and have many friends that also play the game. If you're new, and have less patience than a special forces marksman, you're going to hate this game. I hope that if you decide to play this game, you take my advice with a pinch of salt, as I am admittedly easily riled up in the heat of the moment, but if you too go ape, you only have yourself to blame. Also, look out for skin collecting. I've been caught by it, it saps a lot of your money, and is literally an addiction. Not a good one like playing a great game or crack cocaine, one that's ultimately utterly pointless.

The game itself I find very fun and exhilarating to play with smooth, fast-paced action. I'd give it a ten if it wasn't for the smart pistol. It's completely overpowered and really damages the game for me, as it is not only extremely easy to use, but is also usually a one hit kill once you've been fully locked on to (which takes about a second, less if using enhanced aiming). It's a real shame that this gun exists, or is at least as powerful as it is. Equate it to the P90 in counterstrike, or the LMGs in CoD 4, and you'll know what I mean. Terrible.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth10

It's back. It's bigger, and to continue my cheesy alliteration, it is indeed better. Graphically, there is some improvement, mainly in the lighting. Some meaning that the style is different and in my opinion is an improvement over the 2011 original. The story is the same, but more items and monsters (including bosses) ensures that this game is not just a re-skinned copy of the original (cue CoD jokes). Replayability is even better and more enticing. You cannot just play one round (unless you're grouchy and fail miserably. Come back tomorrow!) Buying this game may however make you stupid. Yes, you will play it too much and lose focus on your school work. You have been warned!

Wrack10
Jun 22, 2014
(Editing review to match the one on Steam) This game is well on its way to becoming huge. The map design so far (on 8 completed official levels) is by no means simplistic - high attention to detail and layout is clearly shown in increasingly large labyrinth-like levels, with expertly placed enemies and items. The graphics are of a cartoony-like nature, and work really well with the rest of the game. Personally, I much prefer the Wrack-style textures to that of Borderlands (and we all know how successful that was!) The AI, pretty average in intelligence, are well animated and immersive to play against. There are a few bugs here and there, but remember, this game is not finished! Don't be fooled how some enemies are easily killed near the beginning, or even how the hyperblade can one-hit most non-boss enemies, the game is NOT a walk in the park on the harder difficulties and will satisfy your gameplay desires! Bobby Prince, who has made the soundtrack to Wrack (as far as I know, correct me if I'm wrong), has done a particularly marvellous job on the music for the game, that really compliments the overall enjoyment of Wrack. It's really easy to get into the swing of the game when high quality instrumentals accompany your race to The Hyperion Generator! Wrack comes with a level editor as well. If you're like me, you may attempt making a map for five minutes and get confused. We could do with some more video tutorials, Brad! :) The fact that Wrack has a level editor creates potential for a very close-knit community, which could produce many fantastic map packs, mods and god knows what else! There have already been a few releases, and I'm excited to say the least! I highly recommend this game to anyone with the current price tag, as the game is being worked on by reliable developers and can only get better. Carnevil made the right decision leaving SkullTag to produce this masterpiece! (Apologies for the excessive use of exclamation marks) 9.5/10 - Rounding up!

How is this getting so many positive reviews? This game is just an awful, pointless waste of time. Never before have I been so quickly repelled by a game. There are literally no redeeming features - The graphics are poor, the AI is poor, there seems to be no solid plot to the game, and its whole attempt at attracting players revolves around the fact that you can dismember and urinate on the characters. You can also relieve yourself in someone's mouth until they puke. It's just absolute trash. I'm glad I didn't buy it: it was gifted to me by a friend who had bought a four pack. No one else wanted the other two copies.

South Park: The Stick of Truth10
Mar 8, 2014
Oh my god this has got to be one of my most favourite games ever. Played through the main story line in two days, and I kind of wish that I had spaced it out more, but the time was well spent. The on going story becomes increasingly ridiculous and hilarious, exhilarating and exciting. What a little nine year old can do to save the town, and the stick of truth? I urge you to find out. What's better is, everything that I can remember in all of South Park is in this game! All of the notable shops, characters, side gags, you name it. This game captures to sense of the telly programme perfectly, and is honestly worth the initial steep price of forty quid. Please buy this.

A brilliant wacky free-to-play game that gives the player great control over their weapons and how they choose to play the game. Needs more maps and maybe more ways to upgrade certain parts of the equipment/weapons, and the spacebux are EXTREMELY overpriced, but I do enjoy this game a lot.

This game is like any other war on terror type shooter, but is also very unique. And rather difficult, too. The different game modes offer a very enticing and exciting game play that sets it apart from games such as Call of Duty. The game has a very good sense of realism in that there are no hit indicators to tell you where you've been shot from, it doesn't take many shots to kill - fewer from the neck up - and the only feature that breaks the realism is the small indicators to show you that the person next to you is a teammate, and also where the objectives are. That's it! No radar either, which makes the game even more involving. This is by far the most realistic shooter I have ever experienced, and the four pack I bought for my friends and I was a damned good buy. Highly recommended.

The game play itself is good enough, but I have two complaints that I believe prevent the game from scoring a ten from me. The first being, the cartoon-like graphics spoil it for me. Personally, I find it difficult to find certain things and after half an hour I get eye strain. If the graphics were like that of a classic 2012 shooter, then I could raise the score to eight. Now I know this second point will sound stupid, but this is very significant to me. Your robot companion throughout the game, claptrap, is so immensely annoying that if this were a real life situation, I would have committed suicide after the numerous futile attempts to destroy that annoying little c*nt. Apart from those two factors, the NPCs and weapons are responsive and I enjoy playing with them.

I don't see why people are rating down the game due to the community. Sure, most of the people who play this are utter c*nts, I agree, but the gameplay itself is fantastic for an alpha, and will continue to improve when worked on to the potential that it has. Find an empty server and mess around with it, build a massive base with some friends, practice and get to know the place before you join a PvP server with hundreds of people and quit after ten minutes. I love this game, spent 16 hours on it within the first two days of purchase not time wasted.

X Rebirth8

Now please read my review before instantly disagreeing with me. I noticed that only the negative reviews seem to be respected because people don't like other opinions. If you read this you can see why the game really doesn't deserve any 0 reviews. I was extremely pumped for the release of X Rebirth. I watched a lot of videos, and upon playing it of course at first I felt a little underwhelmed. I looked at the metacritic score falling from 7 to 4 on the Friday alone, but I thought I'd continue playing to see if it has any redeeming features. THE GOOD POINTS - Despite many people complaining about this, I like the graphical detail, especially on stations Story line is interesting and enjoyable New layout of sectors/zones is pretty nice Space cities are awesome The ability to destroy parts of large ships and stations is realistic and rather brilliant VR Drones are a nice touch THE BAD POINTS - Pretty damned laggy even on minimum graphics with my computer supposedly in the "Recommended" area for hardware. (In addition: Frame rates can drop massively occasionally in stations or otherwise, making it very difficult to know what you're doing) A few bugs can mess up fighting or force you to reload Humanoid graphics are rather basic Ship steering is slow Getting around menus is a pain in the arse Maps are poorly layed out (Not sure if you can zoom at all, I haven't been able to as of yet) In conclusion, I think the game wasn't ready for release. If they had waited until 15th November 2014, I think we'd have a winner on our hands. Personally, I give the game somewhere between a seven and an eight out of ten (Put an 8 here because I really do like the game), because I can see past the minor faults and can eventually get used to the lag, to see a potentially beautiful game. Personally I reckon the majority of people aren't giving the game enough time to mess around with, and are getting hung up on the imperfections that I've outlined or their own personal vendettas against the game or indeed starting to attack Egosoft themselves! (Which in my opinion is rather pathetic). Of course, the bad points means I cannot possibly give X Rebirth in excess of an eight, but we'll see how long it take before these points are seen to.

Another great indie game that has a lot of achievements to fulfill and is by no means a walk in the park, TBoI and its DLC counterpart make a great, yet fairly simple game where there are many combinations of items you can find that can make you either extremely powerful or make that round extremely difficult.

Very fun game to pass the time with, you have to use tactics and plan things out to win and unlock more. Costs an arm and a leg if you want to unlock the special types of plague but it's well worth it! The zombie virus especially adds a whole new level of complexity to the game.

Oh wow, the memories. Outstanding for its time, still great fun now, very flexible and fun to work with. a+

X3AP is a very deep game to get into, and I would not recommend it for those with short attention spans or are not a very committed person. Every aspect of the game has been covered, trading in a massive economy to fighting massive captial CPU ships that threaten the very existance of life in the known universe. Only down side is, if you've run out of ideas of what to do next, you can get bored easily. That being said, I always come back to it and love it, so I can't give it any less than a 9

This game's the reason behind my screen name. It is amazingly difficult and addictive, as any good game should be, so you always have an incentive to play it through to the end. The story line is enticing and I grew to actually care about the characters, just like you would in a film. The ideas behind the construction of the game, levels (Having an initial "Light world" set of levels and when you've aced those you unlock the more challenging "Dark World" levels) is great, and the cut scenes are the icing on the cake. tl;dr it makes mario look like a pile of arse Probably my favourite game ever.
