Discerning

Definitely the finest adventure game made since The Walking Dead, and, prior to TWD, probably the best adventure game since the heyday of Quest for Glory! Absolutely buy this game and support Wormwood Studios. Here's hoping for numerous sequels!!!

Steaming pile of Microsoft LIVE and controller-needed Horribly executed port, as so many others have alluded to. Play it on your console if you have one, or just avoid it like the Microsoft-ruined plague it is.

An incredibly refreshing game in an age of clones and much heralded disappointments. Everything about this game brims with creativity, from the lighting (inspired by the Old Masters such as Rembrandt), to the creatures Isaac encounters, everything in this game appears to have been crafted with love and thought. The user interface is so smoothly integrated with the gameplay itself that the shifting becomes seamless, making the experience even more immersive. Sound is also excellent, although music is limited and never finds a particularly important role. The weapon design is enjoyable and enormously unique, as the electrified javelin throwers attest to. Each weapon has two functions and is entirely upgradable, adding to the re-playability factor. I look forward very much to playing the "New Game +" (Chrono Trigger homage, anyone?) and trying out new weapons, different upgrades, and further exploration in Dead Space's dark world.
