This game is truly special. It is truly rare in life to find something this comprehensive, deep, and robust. If you want to learn more about RPGs, D&D 5e, turn-based combat, etc., this game is for you. If you already love RPGs, this is a true gem. At launch, it was good, and it will only get better as it settles. Larian Studios is an incredible developer, and I am very happy to see their success.
This is a very good game. If you like the 5e of D&D, it will be true to the genre. Admittedly, the graphics are very rudimentary and basic, but the gameplay is superb. I would give the story a B+, as the early and middle aspects of the story are good, but the ending is weak. However, my overall rating is very positive because this small Indie developer put a lot of love and effort into making this a true D&D game with good mechanics. They have also supported it after launch and done a good job therein. Definitely worth it.
This game is truly innovative and creative, and the developers deserve a LOT of credit for creating this new game. Lemnis gate does take some time to adapt to, but if you like deep games coupled with the FPS genre, this is going to really surprise you pleasantly. I'm very impressed, and I hope that more games incorporate features like Lemnis Gate has done. Truly excellent.
I purchased this game in good faith, but the game mechanics were massively flawed at the start. As many have commented, the winch system was likely the single worst design decision, causing thousands of players to quit on that mechanic alone. Coupled with bugs and hit registration issues, the game quickly lost their playerbase, and it is a ghost town now. The developers did try to incorporate a PvE co-op mode into the game, but too many people left. I actually bought the game for the Pve co-op but matchmaking is impossible given the low player base. In retrospect, this should have been a pure single-player PvE game without the winch mechanics, and it would have likely done better. Lastly, we have not seen any communication from the devs in a long time, which further implies that the game is dead long-term and the devs have given up on it. Very disapppointing, and I will be very apprehensive to support these developers in the future.
Dice continues to disappoint with Battlefield 2042. Every single time, the game launches with HUGE bugs despite the assurances from developers beforehand that everythign is "on track" and "performing well" Absolute lies and deception from this publisher and set of developers. Unfortunately, new players coming into the genre are getting burned for the first time, and unaware of Dice's poor history and track record. Dice's (and EA's) reputation is really damaged here. I will not support them any further.
Utterly shameful for these developers to launch this "definitive edition" in such a state. Rockstar has one of the largest number of developers, with very high profits and revenue associated with their various games. Very confusing how such a major and material error occurred here.
the publisher (CDPR) lied and decived millions of gamers when their CEO stated that it runs "surprisingly well on consoles" right before release while simultaneously NOT allowing any reviewers to examine the console performance. This resulted in now an infamous case study of how NOT to launch a game. The publisher is intermittently patching the game well after release, but it is still highly sub-optimal and doesn't contain 1/2 of what was promised in the total propaganda of the marketing before relase. Total disaster. Wait until 2023 or 2024 and buy this game on a huge discount, if ever.
I genuinely enjoyed this game. Do note that MANY of the negative reviews are from the issues of the game at launch, many of which were resolved a month or two afterwards. The campaign is short (~ 20 hours), but you have the ability to completely play through again with a different class and an entirely different play style. The end game is finite, and it's mostly about min-maxing your build and acquiring a lot of the legendary weapons, but a huge patch and DLC is launching on Nov 15th, which should help extend this game's lifespan. Strongly recommend as a good looter-shooter.
These devs (Destructive Creations) ironically launched a destructive game full of bugs and major issues at launch. Worse yet, they promised bug fixes "twice per week" but are not patching the game regularly, and there are numerous and significant bugs affecting many players. Absolutely pathetic. This game was launched prematurely and an absolute disaster. AVOID !!!
Truly a GREAT game and perhaps one of the greatest RPG games ever made. Many people spend 5-10 hours at least in the character creator itself, which demonstrates how much DEPTH this game has at its core. It's not easy, and you need to really think about the math involved, but if you are comfortable with D&D, this game will be a lot of fun for you.
I was initially very excited about this game, but there are MANY problems here. First, the quality team absolutely failed here, as there are so many bugs, spelling mistakes, and stupid things that happen left and right. Either the quality control team failed, or management decided to rush this game to launch. The bugs are overwhelming, and simply indicates that this game was rushed to launch for some unknown reason. You will see a LOT of people complain about the microtransactions, etc., but unfortunately that is common in a lot of games. I'd actually support microtransactions if the game was solid, but will not spend a penny here. Lastly, you will also see a LOT of comments about how the AI is just terrible. You can literally sit from 200 meters away and kill one enemy at a time without any risk at all; it is just too easy, and the AI is just stupid. There are countless other examples, such as when the AI will bunch up at the base of a tower, and not advance in any intelligent way whatsoever. You'll quickly find this super boring and a waste of money after an hour or two. Lastly, the whole marketing campaign of being "hunted" and "behind enemy lines" is not true. The open world feels very empty and Ubisoft missed a golden opportunity to have "hunters" or "wolves" roaming the open world and engaging with you. Not here though. They also insinuate that the "wolves" are the elite soldiers, but they are quite weak, and quite underwhelming. If you feel very compelled to buy this game, I would strongly suggest that you wait at LEAST six months and try to buy the game on sale. We, as gamers, simply cannot support developers and publishers that launch a game in such a BAD state. Do not buy.
I am exceptionally pleased with the quality of the game. Not only is this game beautiful and fun, but here were a couple of minor bugs, and the developers worked over the weekend, and it is now fixed ! Pay attention to this quality EA and Bethesda !!
I am very happy with the quality of this game, and the lessons learned and applied by the developers from their missteps in the previous version of this game. The gameplay is far better than Division 1, and the depth and beauty of this game really stands out. This is a case study of how to launch a game. I watched countless hours of interviews with the developers on YouTube, and saw that each and every person was personally invested in the success of this game, which is so rare these days. What a contrast with those developers like EA and Bethesda, uggh !! Well done Ubisoft / Massive. Thank you.
Parts of the world look beautiful, but again, a very boring story, weak and repetitive gameplay. Terrible game. Also, EA has a very BAD reputation for developing games with lots of bugs.
I was so excited about this game, given my passion for WW2, and the history of the Battlefield games. However, this game was a disaster. It was clearly rushed to market, with TONS of bugs, cheaters using aimbots and easy-to-access cheats, and a very unbalanced game mechanics on so many levels that it is too cumbersome to document. My advice to all gamers: do not every pre-order a game + wait at least 3-6 months + to see how the developer handles the launch and subsequent updates before buying.
