Review updated, my original review was a 4 when Destiny 2 came out. Since the Forsaken update I have to change this now as the game has massively improved. Forsaken has brought much better end game content, random rolls on weapons again and weapons and armour worth trying to get again.

Loving this game/sim. Me and my son have spent hours trying to beat each others times and unlocking more tracks. Really enjoying racing against other players ghosts in time attack while getting used to them before moving in to proper multiplayer. The 3 drones I've used in the game feel nice and all different as I would expect with the weight differences. I dont mind the way you unlock tracks in the game and enjoy having things to unlock once you improve and start mastering tracks. Menus are good and easy to navigate. The game was easy to setup with my old Spektrum transmitter with cheap USB adaptor. You can also use a normal controller if you dont have a transmitter you can use. There are some features that would be nice to see but sure I've either not found them yet, unlocked them or could be added later and ill be even happier e.g private races, drone builder & track designer.

BEWARE OF SPENDING ANY MONEY IN THIS GAME Luckily me and my son where banned before I was just about to spend money on this game buying me and my son the transparency tokens to hide certain bits of armour. Im pretty glad it happened before hand as the tokens are a bit of a rip off at nearly £14 each to hide ugly armour or female looking earrings with stat boosts on your male character (seems like this is intentionally done to make people want to buy the tokens) . I had only played the game for about 3 days with my son and not even spoke to any other players yet. Me and my son had just been working through the main story quests to level up before joining other players. Then day 3 came and I got home from work and my son wanted to play some games with me and both of us are unable to login. I contacted their support to appeal this and was just advised they would not un-block the account as apparently my account was in violation of the policy regarding player behavior. That's it no other explanation so I cant see what we apparently done wrong to cause this and personally cant think of anything I could have done to cause this. After reading several forums this seems to have been a common problem and even with people that have spent allot of money on the game and then to lose their progress and money spent. I have now raised multiple tickets with their support to politely try and find out what we apparently did wrong as we have only been playing through the story quests together. Anyway all you get back from them is sorry you were in violation of our terms we will not un-block the account, thank you for understanding. Thats it, no actual evidence or advice to what you apparently done wrong.

When playing with controller or keyboard I thought the game was good but not great. Since getting my Thrustmaster T300 RS GT and Samsung Odyssey VR Headset ive been loving the game. If your going to play this game I would highly recommend getting a steering wheel and pedals as a minimum.

Updated 17/07/2019 - I have dropped my original score by a couple as I havent logged in for a while as there are still issues that haven't been resolved yet and little comms from the devs. If they make some decent changes and fixes I will be happy to pickup the game again and adjust my review accordingly. Unfortunately I will be waiting for some big news on the net about the game before I can be bothered to try again. Original Review------ All I can say is i'm enjoying playing the game, the combat is fun and the world is a nice size and looks amazing. There are so many javelin build options and different loadouts can be saved which keeps me wanting to try different play styles. So far I cant see why the game has such a low score. Yes there are things that can be improved like some of the UI and tweaks to the loot but these so far for me have been far from game breaking and things they have said they are working on to get the balance right. i've probably got about 50 hours in so far of mostly solo play and still feel like I have allot of hours left to play. Also during that 50+ hours I've had 1 audio glitch and lost connection once which is no where near as bad as other games I own that no one moans about. Allot of bad reviews seem to be from when the game was in early access and the game has had allot of patches since then and the team seem to be hot on updates. There have also been many suggestions from the community that they have liked and want to implement in updates, so the game has even more to look forward to. I just think its sad that most games have big day one patches and patches after release to fix issues and they dont get loads of crap about it but for some reason everyone seems to be wanting to jump on the hate train for EA and Bioware. Just to add as well about the hate train, which is happening, I have watched allot of youtube videos which have been full of hate for things that had already been patched before their video was even made, or things that are not true and just internet rumours stating they are fact with no sources to back it up.

Absolutely love the game and cant get enough of it. Really not sure why there is so much bad feedback for this game. The negative feedback put me off buying the game for such a long time and now I wish I had brought it sooner. I took the gamble while the game has been on sale but after playing it if I knew it was like this I would have been happy to pay full price for it. This is based off playing single player and then paying for my own dedicated server for me and my friends to play on. The negative reviews could possibly be related to the official public servers which I am not interested in and cant comment on. The game does have some bugs and the odd little glitches (like most games) but in my experience they are not game breaking in anyway shape or form. The games overall performance on my PS4 pro seems absolutely fine and some of my friends with a standard PS4's haven't noticed any general performance issues either. I have only given the game an 8 because there are a few minor bugs and because I haven't played on the official servers to rate them. You really dont need to play on the official servers though to enjoy the game. There are also allot of private servers that you can join that have just PVP, just PVE or that have also had there server settings for the game changed to better suit the way you want to play e.g If you like PVP and dont like the idea of being raided while offline you can find a server with people that mainly play the same hours as you or that has offline raid prevention enabled in the server settings, If you dont like the idea of people claiming loads of land by just placing pillars to prevent you building find a server that has decay unsnapped core structures to help prevent these spammers. There are so many different types of server play styles you just need to look them up or try a few. This is the reason I setup my own server so I can tweak it to how me and friends prefer it. Also note you can host a none dedicated session from your PS4 for free with altered game settings that your friends can join when ever you are online and have the session loaded.
