My Favorite Python movie, besides Holy Grail and the rest. You'd have to be a total **** not to love this stuff. That's all there is to it. Um, still need more letters.... Trying to post review.... There we go.

This movie isn't nearly as bad as all that. Sure, it's a bit cheesy but I liked the characters. I think it's done purposely with tongue in cheek, not meant to be a SERIOUS sci-fi but just a fun adventure; Sort of the same way how the Indiana Jones movies were inspired by those old serial shorts. It has pretty good fx and the actors are clearly into it. The story is cool though unoriginal, but I rooted for the humans to rise up against their alien masters. Don't over-think it, you'll have some fun. Ignore the haters, they just go for the obvious cheap shots. If you like sci-fi adventures, then you could do much worse.

Sorry, I wanted to like this because of the talent involved but it turned out to be a boring mess. Scenes plod on too long with no real point and the whole thing ultimately feels empty. It tries to come across as deep but it's really just incomprehensible.

A harrowing drama-ghost story which serves as a metaphor for the ugliness of past sins still haunting the present. Truly disturbing film-making, full of grief and anguish that everyone tries to hide under the surface, but it all comes out in the end. Thandie Newton gave one of the best performances ever filmed, and the rest of the cast is nearly as riveting. This is a difficult film in a sense, but also very poetic and ultimately joyous. I highly recommend it.

Grandly emotional, brilliantly edited, and makes use of music in startlingly original and profound ways. However, this sprawling opus isn't perfect; It's a bit hard to follow and some plot points get left dangling. The cast is excellent, and while it isn't flawless, it is a great film. Definitely worth seeing.

Visually interesting but I think it's a bit of an acquired taste. The dark-light metaphor wasn't executed very well, I thought, but it had a nice message about hope. I enjoyed the relationship between the 2 main characters but the overall plot was a bit too under-developed and screwy for my taste. If you like anime, though, this one isn't too bad.

I don't understand all the hate directed at this silly but fun mishmash of parodies. It's not shakespeare but damn it be funny! I laughed my butt off through the whole thing. If you like comedies like Naked Gun, then give this a try.

Meh. This movie is a little too heavy-handed for its own good, but if you can forgive that, then it turns out to be a pretty good fairy tale horror-fantasy with some decent scares and laughs.

A classic. Deeply moving, funny, and heartbreaking. What seems a simple story of a misfit stuck in the system is magnified into an epic power struggle that reveals both the heights and depths of human nature. Movies don't get any better than this.

I'd have to say this is one of the best science fiction movies ever made. The cinematography, the performances, the music, the story, everything about it excels. The director convincingly presents a bleak near-future where humanity has gone infertile and is slowly dying out. Add in gut-wrenching action scenes, a particularly wonderful performance by Michael Caine, and an anti-fascist subtext, and you have a brilliant humanistic tale.

I actually found myself liking and enjoying this darkly tongue-in-cheek cannibal western. The actors had a lot to do with that; They really made the effort to sell the premise. Gory, but also wickedly amusing. Not the best movie ever, but still under-rated.

Gross and stupid. Treats every punchline like a dead horse and keeps on beating the stuffing out of it. Which would make it bearable, had any of the jokes worked. I like silly comedy but so much depends on the cleverness of the writing. This doesn't have what it takes.

I don't see why anyone would much like this, really. Most of the humor is obvious and falls flat. Maybe teenagers would enjoy it. I don't know. I thought it was boring and obnoxious. Not one of Will's shining moments.

This epic action fantasy is stunning to behold. Del Toro has sneakily crafted the Star Wars of fantasy, filled to the brim with delightfully imaginative eye candy, cool creatures, and plenty of action and humor. I consider this film a work of artistic genius, superior even to the first Hellboy, which was an amazing work in its own right. Anyone who wants to know what heights movies are really capable of should see this immediately.

Fantastic horror film. I daresay there hasn't been a zombie film this good since the original Dawn of the Dead. What really makes it work is the utterly desolate atmosphere, and the convincing desperation of the performers. Scary but not reliant on gore, this is a class act. One of the best horror films in decades.

This is definitely the best out of all the Batman movies. The plot is engrossing, the action is thrilling, the performances are exciting. Ledger deserved every bit of praise for his portrayal of the Joker; He's one of the greatest villains in movie history. This is a mature vision of the Batman universe, grounded in a splendid realism, while never losing sight of what made the original characters so engaging. Not only a good "superhero" film, but an enthralling crime drama. Nolan and the actors understand this material perfectly, and have made a movie that transcends the comic book stereotype. An enthralling action movie and a work of art.

Donnie Darko: The Director's Cut

When I first saw Donnie Darko (the theatrical cut), I was instantly taken in by its clever mix of sci-fi and teenage drama. I enjoyed the mix of humor and angst, the use of music, the enigma at its core. Which is exactly why I now say, less is more. I didn't much care for this extended cut, and felt it added nothing of value and even detracted from the film's sense of mystery. See the original cut first, and if you're really interested, then check out this one.
