The Good • The areas are very well-designed along with wonderful music and visuals. • The progression is very good. • Olimar is a wonderful character and full of charm. • The quality of life added from Pikmin 2 is very nice. The Bad • The Pikmin AI is jank. They tend to trip and get stuck on things, meaning you’ll have to suddenly stop to help them. • The Wii port is fairly glitchy. Sometimes the numbers on the UI will be wrong and Pikmin can clip into the floor by going under bridges. Overall Pikmin 1 still holds up as a game I want to come back to, even all these years later.

The Good • The Pikmin AI has been vastly improved from Pikmin 1. • The quality of life added to throwing is really nice. Should be noted that it was added to Pikmin 1 as well in its ports. The Bad • Pikmin 2’s balance is bad. It gets way too difficult once you get past the 10000 Poko objective and a lot of the game's faults are related to that • The Doomsday Apparatus single-handedly makes Purple Pikmin a nightmare to deal with, as you need 100 Purple Pikmin to carry the Doomsday Apparatus. This means both wanting to reset upon a loss of a Purple Pikmin, and having to grind for them. • The game is mostly caves which is a problem because they aren’t really good. They’re randomly generated and are way too hard by the end. Overall Pikmin 2 is I can't imagine myself coming back to, at least not often. The poor balancing ends up spreading to the entire game and horribly messing things up.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 suffers from a lot of problems such as the bad tutorials and the field skill system, but even still it's not that bad. The story is great, the characters are great, and the combat is great. I would not recommend this game as a starting point, however. Start with Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition.

Splatoon 3 is a game where the only good is in the side content. The campaign, Salmon Run, and Table Turf are all good but the actual main game falls flat due to poor balancing, maps, and Nintendo Switch Online.

This review was made before I've finished the game, so please take it with a grain of salt. I think at least so far this is a pretty fine port. The only things are that the backgrounds are clearly AI upscaled and that for some reason the battle sounds are low quality, and especially the ones in the Persona awakening for some reason. However, if I know modders I know they'll fix those in no time. And of course, the game itself is great. I will say though if you are comfortable with emulation the only thing you're really losing is the custom difficulty as save states can act as quick saves, Retro Arch Steam has cloud saves, and it isn't all too hard to make a keyboard set up for Persona.

This game starts out great! Then everything goes wrong. Child of Light has great presentation and stuff that feels straight out of old-school Disney movies. I was really intrigued by where everything was going to go. But it didn't go anywhere. This large cast is introduced and none of them get development. I was pretty intrigued by the two world and was excited for world **** it never happened. Honestly, I was surprised I got to the end because nothing happened. And the game just falls into pitfalls other RPGs do, like with that large cast I mentioned earlier; I only ever used a few of them. Also, the Switch port is bad as the frame rate is super inconsistent.

I give Minecraft a Child's Toy Box/10 Simply, Minecraft just doesn't hit the standards needed anymore. It was the first of its genre, after all. We have Terraria's arsenal of unique items to take out each boss with. Then we have Minecraft's stat ups and single required boss. We have No Man's Sky's immersive galaxies with tons to do. Then we have Minecraft's lack of atmosphere and not as much to do. And while I haven't played Valheim yet, it still looks better. Like a Child's Toy Box, you're going to grow up and move onto bigger things.

I give Fortnite: Save the World a Feature Creep/10 It feels like it wanted to do everything and failed as a result. It wanted to be a tower defense, it wanted to be a survival game, it wanted to be an Online RPG, it wanted to be a micromanagement simulator. And with all of these things, there are just better options. Honestly, I don't blame Epic for focusing almost entirely on Battle Royale, since Save the World is just kind of a mess. Like a game with feature creep, there are too many things and none of them are fleshed out.

I give Tomodachi Life, a Mobile Tycoon Game/10 It's fun at first, the idea of looking after an island of your own characters or whatever is fun! But eventually there is a point where you've seen everything and forget about it. And while you can do things such as send your Miis to space, it is an absolute grind to get there. Not to mention, you could just look it up. Like a Mobile Tycoon Game, Tomodachi Life is a grind at its core. The only other game I can recommend alike this game is Wildermyth for the character creation, but it's more of a serious tactics game.
