I feel like this game has so many inventive things going on it deserves the highest recognition. The combat system is very intricate, yet simply executed. The soundtrack and sound design are, like most indie games these days, top notch. While the story and presentation are a bit jumbled and confusing, there's enough entertaining things going to where you should probably just put on your seatbelt, bash robots, and enjoy the ride. I will also point out that the atmosphere of the game is very cool. Turn on the controller speaker if you want a better experience.

The first thing I thought when I started playing this game was "damn, this is really cool." Then when the combat started to open up and take hold in my brain, I got excited. The Sword and Shield gameplay feels like a 2D Souls game, in a way. The art direction and level design are just pure genius. This is why I love indie games. The sound design and music score are just too good at times as well. The one thing I can criticize is the movement and platforming. There are times where you feel like you are jumping high enough but it just wont happen. A game with a combat design as good as this should have tight controls. The inventory management could use some work as well. I am about halfway through the game but it doesn't look like I'll be wanting to stop anytime soon, or lower my score. I think this game deserves a chance for anyone who enjoys Metroid-vania style games like Guacamelee and Rogue Legacy.

Destiny is probably the best feeling shooter I've ever played on a console. The visuals and world design are top-notch, and the soundtrack is nearly unmatched. But, the game is just so...empty feeling. There's really not much to do but go on the same missions repeatedly to farm for loot. Even when you hit level 20 (when supposedly the real game starts) you're still doing more of the same missions you already did during your original playthrough. I really like this game though. Something about it is very addicting. Is it worth your time and money? Probably not, but if you ever find it for like 30 bucks, get it.

If you're into Shoot 'em Up games, this game is for you. Phenomenal visuals and addictive gameplay make Resogun hard to put down. Among all the new Triple-A releases for the PS4, I still go back to this game. I can't get enough of it. I do have to say though, that it will be weird and confusing at first. Don't give up. Learn the controls. Embrace the challenge. And you will find yourself in my position. Hopelessly devoted to you (Resogn).

This game is just all kinds of bad. Simply because it isn't even remotely fun. The graphics are really cool. but the combat is basically a bunch of nothingness.

Its about time we got an uber-violent top down game. Good lord this game kicks your behind. The soundtrack is so good, and the quick restart when you die makes the challenge worth replaying over and over. The first coupe levels are well balanced and help the user get better at the game. But by chapter eight the difficulty level skyrockets. I still haven't beaten it, but I will at some point. I love indie games but this is the first one I've truly felt compelled to complete and play for hours and hours. Its good to play with friends too. I wish there was a co-op or vs. multiplayer. Can you image a 3v3 version of this game? That would go hard. I think this is free on PS Plus right now. Gain it. 10/10

One of the best co-op experiences I've ever had. The level design and soundtrack are simply mesmerizing. Great bonding experience, play with a close friend and have some laughs. The single player version is practically impossible for me, I wish they made the other character AI instead of having the user control both guys with the two sticks. Probably my favorite indie game this year, next to Hotline Miami. 10/10

I "beat" the game the other day. "Beat" is a lose term here because this game offers almost nothing to beat. Visually appealing? Hell yes. Challenging? Hell no. I played Heavy Rain and while it wasn't my favorite game I loved how involved it made me feel. I felt like every choice made was going to screw me over so the game really engaged me. That never happens in Beyond. The choices you have to make don't really effect the narrative because the game is already told in a non-linear order. So any choices you make won't matter. The only freedom of choice you have is toward the end of the game. But by then I was so disconnected I couldn't care less what happened. This game had potential though. If it were told In chronological order and it took us on a journey through Jodie's life, it would have been amazing. Because the premise is there, just not the gameplay. Playing as Aiden has its ups and downs. I don't understand why I can only kill and possess certain people. If these parts of the game were open ended, letting you decide how to take care of enemies, I would have loved it. That just points to what I said earlier about the game playing it self with almost no input required from the user other than find the white dots and trigger cut scene after cut scene. I hope Quantic Dream keeps making games like this though. Its unique yes, but its not a good game. The only things keeping this game above a 5 are Ellen Page's performance, and the visuals. 6.4/10

The story is fairly good. It starts out kind of rough and unfocused, but a significant plot twist a third into it really got me hooked and I couldn't put the game down! Combat is still awesome. The shock gloves are fun to use, and really help against armored, shielded, and stun baton enemies. I also really enjoyed the combat based boss fights. That's something I thought the other games kind of lacked in some areas. The boss fights would be a matter of spamming some gadget to stun them, and then pound away. If Mark Hamill stays in retirement and Troy Baker is left to voice the Joker, I think we are in great hands. Seriously, what a phenomenal actor. I'd say the low points in the game are its level design and story pacing. There were several points, especially in the beginning, where I didn't know what the hell was going on and why I needed to move forward. Arkham Asylum I think had the best single player narrative I've ever played. You were so immersed in the environment and what was happening. Asylum showed you the story. Origins just tells you. The city also feels pretty dull and empty. Why is it that the only people out in Gotham on Christmas Eve are thugs that all want to fight Batman? I was hoping the first Open-Gotham Batman game would be better in that department. The writing also has some weak points in the dialogue. I cringed a couple times, mostly during the Penguin stretch. His assistant is the most annoying female voice I've heard in my life. The game doesn't do much more than rehash all the awesome stuff from the first two games. There are some bugs and framerate drops too. I've noticed there is a glitch sometimes when you finish a fight with the Shock Gloves and you have to interrogate somebody they'll just stand there cowering in fear, the game doesn't prompt you to interrogate. So I had to reload from my last save and finish the fight without using Shock Gloves and that solved the problem. Nothing like that ever happened Arkham City. Another big no-no was when I went to read the story synopsis and the game said that was 90% complete when I was more like 75%. I got to read a couple hours into the future of the game, which really set the story back for me. All and all though, its a worthy title. If you loved the first two, this game is worth buying at full price. I tried one match of multiplayer and it was pretty cool, I'm probably going to play that a lot this week. 8/10
