The game is great. The vistas are amazing, as is the exploration part of it. I'm not a big fan of the combat and I kinda hate the fact that weapons break after a couple of hits. I feel it just removes a lot of of the fun of discovering something new when you know it won't last you more than a few shorts battles at best. That being said, the game is full of surprises at every corner and I love the fact you can overcome every situations in many ways. The game is brillant in that regard as it lets you get creative with puzzles and encounters. I'm near the end of it and it has been a good ride so far.

This was the VR seller for me. I played so many hours of Skyrim with and without mods, but everything feels fresh again, I'm amazed at every known stuff I see and I'm still finding new things never discovered before. Playing an archer or a mage is a blast, as is using a torch to light up your path, throwing a bottle to catch the attention ****. There a so many little things, little details that I never took care of and VR is making me noticing and experiencing them like never before. Watching the snow, the stars, drowning in flooded caves, everything just feels there. When I launch the title, I am in the game, I am gathering mushrooms for alchemy, catching butterflies - hell, every little thing is just so fun. I always played without fast travel, as I feel it is the true way to play Skyrim. Exploration is a big part of the game, of the experience. It is almost impossible to start a quest without venturing elsewhere as new discoveries, camps or caves are found. Now, I waited and watched a lot of reviews before buying the PSVR. I didn't have much faith in the moves controllers as they are re-used old tech from the ps3 era. But I'm really surprised by how great they feel in the hands and by their accuracy. While not perfect and not as precise as Vive or Oculus controllers, they handle nicely and have not triggered any frustration in my game sessions. The resolution is not great, but everything in the game makes up for it. Sure, if you have a decent computer that can handle the game, I would recommend you to buy the PC version instead. But for the price, if you only have a ps4 and are a fan of Skyrim, do yourself a favor and buy this. Even on the base ps4, which I have, I have no complaints: the performance is great, the game is blurry, but still beautiful and we have to thank Bethesda for porting a behemot of this kind in VR. I would even buy Morrowind VR would they dare to do it, as those games are just meant to be experienced. Loosing myself in an open world this big and complex is the best thing gaming has done for me since a long long time. And I just hope that we'll get to play more rpgs like this on VR.

Mass Effect: Andromeda

Ok, so imagine you had to write a sequel to the Lord of the rings and imagine you had potential as an author. You could write what you want, throw in the best of your ideas but what are the odds the crowd out there would be deceived anyway? It's kind of the same with Mass Effect Andromeda... I tried to detach from the orignal trilogy before jumping in and so far, I'm enjoying the game a lot. Maybe so patches came since the launch but I don't get so far why people are pissed off by the animations, nor by the story. I love the combat, the characters, the A.I., the ship. Everything is there to get me hooked and to make me want to go on and discover the new worlds lying out there. So far, the PC version I'm playing is greatly optimized and I'm running it without hiccups with a gtx 960 and i7 4770. Sure I'm not playing at highest settings but I never cared about it. It's better looking than console counterparts anyway. If you have a gtx 1060 or more, you're in for the full show, the way Bioware wants you to experience their game. If you like sci-fi, if you loved Mass Effect and if you're a tad open minded, go ahead and buy this gem. Sure it's a little rough around the edges and there are some distracting bugs but nothing to stop you from enjoying a great sci-fi rpg with a good cast and some sweet ideas. And please... don't listen to the haters out there. Yes, I believe that a new franchise without the Mass Effect label would have helped the game getting more praise, but in the end, the Mass Effect universe merit that you dwelve into it once more and even if some parts are clumsy or not fitting the universe 100%, they really tried to get the serie in another direction and in my book, their work mean a lot and merit to be appreciated, played and enjoyed.

I read a lot of negative comments so far... While I can understand them from people experiencing technical problems due to poor optimisation at launch and while that type of game isn't for everyone, I really think the metacritic score based on players reviews is biaised and doesn't bring justice to the game. First, I am of the lucky ones for which the game runs like butter. A lot of folks with better configs are experiencing issues right now, while I don't with my old Phenom II, 12 go of ram and a gtx 960. Lack of optimisation at launch is irratating at best when you pay the high price for a new release, that I can understand. But the game, when it works, is a jewel as much as Enemy Unknown was in it's own right. Like many critics, I think the game expands on the previous iteration and really shines when it gets to immersion, squad control and personalization. I really care for my team and did put some time to choose their look, their voices and backgrounds. Those guys are bleeding, dying to save mankind and choosing the right strategies to keep them alive while doing so is intense, fun and rewarding. Once started, the game is hard to stop and while playing it, the time disappear: this is the sign **** game. If you loved the first, I can't understand why you wouldn't love this one. The music, the story, the missions, gadgets... everything is there with new paths, graphics and options. A lot of mechanics have improved if you ask me, but even if you don't agree, there's a lot to love here. I suggest you wait for some patches if you fear of facing issues, but otherwise, go ahead and buy it with confidence as it is an easy recommandation.

Like many have said, this is Left for dead go medieval, so if you were not a fan of it, skip this one. Otherwise, if you do enjoy the hectic fight, the intense moments of a swarm of zombies... err skavens... deferling to your group while trying to accomplish a near impossible mission, that you finally complete thanks to cohesive team work - when that happens, well, you really get the meat of the game. With friends, or in a random group, the game leads to some epic moments that I only found so far in the Left for dead franchise. But like a surprise box and like that franchise before, random parties can lead to great experiences or deceptives ones. If you really want to get to the end of the run (at leat in higher difficulty levels), stick with a group of friends. If you can enjoy the satisfying thrill of finding a good random group and to stick with it, never knowing what your teammates will do can also add to the tension and it's in those moments of pure action that I really get the thrill that I was looking for when buying the game. Left for dead fans can buy this one with confidence - the experience is the same, with news elements, new environments and with characters having differents weapons this time around. There is also a loot system, giving you a chance to get new stuff at the end of the day, which is nice, so go ahead buy it and slay some vermin!

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut

To all fans of hack and slash games: don't miss this one. I fear this game won't get the attention it deserves, but I really hope I'm wrong, as this game shines where many hack and slash nowadays are so often bland and boring. I'll go as far as to say that this game has a soul… something you can’t put your finger on, but that will keep you playing and enjoying the experience from the beginning to the end. I first want to applaud Neocore Games for this revamped edition, enhancing almost every aspect of the previous entries. While the first releases were kind of rough gems, this final cut now renders everything more accessible, from the difficulty, to the various classes and skill trees. There’s a lot to like about this game, from the steampunk setting, to the quality of the audio and voices of the main protagonists, to the high number of hiddens that can be found for those willing to pay attention to conversations and to explore the environment. While hack and slash games are mostly about mindless killing and loot, the incredible adventures of Van Helsing do try to bring fresh and enjoyable elements on the table. Many skills are available and almost any build can be viable, while all of them can be changed easily if your choices leave you insatisfied. One key point of the game lie in the interaction and cooperation between Van Helsing and his ghostly companion, lady Katarina, which you can level up too, as you see fit. Their conversations are often funny, while never trying too much to be. From the tower defense parts to the optional quests, a lot of care has been taken into the differents parts of the game and into details. I highly recommend anyone loving the genre to give it a try. As for now, the bugs I personally encountered have been fixed so far and Neocore games support has been fast and helpful when needed. There are still balance issues between classes, but nothing that should keep your from enjoying a great and quite unique action rpg.
