Lacking in the single-player department, but one of the most fun games I've played in co-op. The asymmetrical nature of the co-op campaign leaves plenty of different ways to approach the levels. I realize its a fair departure for the series, but taken as it is, quite the fun game to play with a friend.

I had extremely low expectations going in for this game. After being patched and out for a while, I figured five bucks wasn't a big risk but it was a complete waste. The graphics are horrible, might be passable four or five years ago, but they're really bad and even the art style is bad. The gameplay is **** first alien I encountered sort of just sat there with his back turned to me while I shot him dead. The AI really is awful, your teammates are pretty useless. Aliens swarm at you in massive numbers, die easily, and look they've been hit by paintballs as they lie dead. I love the Aliens setting and thought I would give it a chance, but I can't even bring myself to play it, it's simply not fun at all.

Combat is reactive, and enjoyable. Not your average quickbar mmo. Fun to pick up from time to time and get back into, still leveling but haven't really noticed any constraints from the free to play system, don't feel like a second class citizen despite having never paid a dime. Maybe that all changes when you get to max level, but I've had nothing but fun with it so far off and on and there seems a fair bit to do.
