A stillborn series that began with the embarassing, moronic scene, that can't be anything but self-parody. Spacey's sardonic asides make him look almost pathetic and self-deluded, and I don't think that was the creators' intention. Everything is so tired, boring and numbingly predictable.

I'm very much impressed. Homeland was my favorite this year - before I've started watching The Boss, and now the tale from Chicago has me among it's most avid fans. I didn't expect such level of artistry from the Starz, the channel that was peddling T & A in "historical" settings, it's a very pleasant surprise.

A potpourri of the horror genre cliches, helplessly aimless blundering embarrassment. Frantic - and deadeningly boring at the same time. A waste of everything invested in the project, including the viewers' time. I quit watching it midseason.

I think it's grossly overrated by the reviewers. The Take is just a watchable melodrama of a very average quality. Comparing it to The Sopranos is very misguided and weird, they exist on a totally different planes of artistry.

First of all - these people are not Russian, I flinched every time they spoke about their "Russian culture", "Russian family", etc. Everyone in this show comes from a very provincial tradition of Russian Jewry, it's a subculture not a single Russian is admiring or belongs to. Imagine Russian TV making a show with - say - some Cajuns from a very backward areas in Louisiana and representing that exotic minority as Americans. I'm aware that USA is a nation made of many ethnic groups but I think you understand what I mean. The people from this show (the older generation) held the Russian passports, they speak (heavily accented and lowbrow) Russian, but presenting them as Russians is wrong.
