The Simpsons has never been better. At a time when half-hour TV comedy is reaching a new level of self-referential daring — you can't fully appreciate the intricate, in-joke pleasures of great shows like NBC's Seinfeld and HBO's The Larry Sanders Show unless you've also watched a lot of really bad TV — The Simpsons continues to emphasize that there's a big world out there that television barely touches upon.

La serie storica per eccellenza. Penso di aver guardato una enorme parte degli episodi, anche se non ho più seguito le ultime stagioni. Nel complesso comunque non si può che dare il massimo dei voti a una serie che è leggenda.

Easily the the best, cleverest and nuttiest arrival of the 1989-90 season is The Simpsons...It's very small-scale, but perfectly conceived and executed. [The show] has a good deal of savvy wit.... The Simpsons, however, is strangely off-putting much of the time. The drawings are grotesque without redeeming style or charm (characters have big beady eyes, beaklike noses and spiky hair), and the animation is crude even by TV's low-grade standards.

I watched all seasons for the first time in 2022, and while some of it feels very outdated and even sometimes offensive, I still enjoyed it and laughed a lot. It's awesome how by watching this series you can see how the world has changed since 1989 and you can appreciate how The Simpsons evolved over time.

The show that used to be a mirror (both in good and bad) about the American society, that was biting satire and honest commentary that allowed one to draw their own parallels into real world society... has for the last 15 years been reduced to just toothless content with occasional blatant on-the-nose references to celebrities and trends.

The seasons that aired between 1989 until about 2010 are a 10/10. 2020-2017 is a 5/10. And the Disney era is a 2/10. After 2010 the writing started getting weaker. The jokes less funny and the plot borderline on pointless. By the time Disney purchased Fox, the Simpsons had degraded to just doing light social commentary with a reactance to mock or offend anyone. There's a reason why South Park and other adult comedies mock it these days. I have no idea what changed (if it was new writers or if they just ran out of ideas) but they should have cancelled it years ago.

Rigolo jusqu'à la saison 15, après c'est une lente chute qui sombre vers le politiquement correct, devenant au passage gauchiste et donneuse de leçons. South Park bouffe allègrement cette série, et Rick et Morty lui chient dessus.
