Static Cling maintains the original show’s look, sound, and aesthetic perfectly (although Philbert appears a bit off-model at times). It takes a moment to get reacquainted with the show’s energy and pacing, which is a bit slower and more easygoing than one might remember, but by the time Rocko, Heffer, and Philbert land back in O-Town, you’ll feel right at home.

A successful and satisfying work of animated art. They are crass only in their humor.

It was pretty good. A tad preachy on the moral but other than that it was a good special.

Loved the original rocko's modern life, and this one started off very strong. Random insanity when they are adapting to the new world... The sad thing is, my biggest complaint is ironically what this special was intending to try to address. They took a politically correct turn FOR THE WORST! The plot was the characters to come to an understanding, that some forms of change are good... I do not like political correctness, I do not like it being in my media. I deal with it enough in real life, I don't want it in my fiction! So while it started off strong, I really don't like the "change" they made to it and tried so hard to justify in the plot itself. It is hilariously ironic, and the sad thing is, they are serious about this all inclusive bull... Just stop doing the PC thing, its not hard to understand you divide a fanbase because most people... don't want to see this kind of thing!

It’s warm and nostalgic, but only in the sense that its aesthetic maintains a dedication to strangeness. There are also strides forward. Moving on from the ‘90s hasn’t all been overwhelming technology and scary surveillance.

May be one of Netflix’s weirdest decisions yet. But this 45-minute special will likely be welcomed with open arms by fans of the show, which blended anti-capitalist messaging with loopily surreal animation.
