The odds of Homeland pulling of a spectacular series finale season were about 1 in a 100 in my estimation. And they did it. All of the characters were true to themselves. Saul - pure loyalty. Carrie - following her own moral North star. Phenomenal ending. Tied up the great 4th season in a perfect bow. Congrats to all involved.
Bringing [Saul and Carrie] to the forefront and giving them a lot of scenes in the first two episodes has strengthened the series. The writing and acting in the first two episodes are exceptional. Let’s hope this continues, because it’s once again thrilling to watch this show.
We're getting the character we knew she was capable of being, with the added layer of new motherhood.... Admittedly, it's too early to declare definitively that Homeland is back, but I will say it's back to being a show I'm looking forward to watching, rather than one that made me angry as it lost its credibility mostly and lost its way completely.
Thankfully the greatest love story no one ever wanted to be a love story is not the focus of the first two episodes, which illustrate the power and punch Homeland can still muster when freed from its more Hallmark-ian tendencies.
Really have problem to find out any negative. Claire Danes is fantastic and not only she. Most actors were extraordinary, screenplay was very credible, acting great and especially in last season appeared characters, which deserve own series.
Great and fantastic!
The writing is bad. This jumped the shark in season one, episode six in the backseat of a car. It would’ve **** more w/out Patinkin. Danes is an over-actor. What would the series had been like if Carrie was written as a guy?
Enjoyed the first 3 seasons with the Nick Bridy story. After that, the series went downhill. Unfortunately, Clare Danes seems to have gone to the Jim Carey school of acting, which is all about **** contortions and eye rolls. I think Saul must have died, because he sure acts like a fast walking corpse. The storyline seems to be a rehash of Carrie (Dane) doing whatever she wants to do in some kind of bipolar haze and always apologizing for it. If she goes to bed with a man, it's a kiss of death. So predictable.
