While the set-up was a little familiar, Hidden Assets was gripping, ambitious and seriously well-executed, with a promising dynamic established between the core investigating duo: Angeline Ball's DS Emer Berry, an asthmatic smoker who doesn't always play by the rules, and Wouter Hendrickx's ruggedly handsome, gum-chewing Detective Christian De Jong.

Hidden Assets is all about the conspiracy at the center of the first season, and we see signs from the first moments that it'll be twisty and keep our interest, even if there isn't a ton of character development.
