There feels like there’s more substance to Escaping Twin Flames than Desperately Seeking Soulmate, or at the very least more testimonials to what Twin Flames Universe was all about and exactly what Jeff and Shaleia Ayan’s grift really was.

True crime fans will find a lot to appreciate with "Escaping Twin Flames," but it's honestly a must-see documentary about how social media can be abused to control people and create fanatical cult followings.

From a critical perspective, it’s easy to wonder if or why we need two Twin Flames Universe series. From a purely human standpoint, however, it’s even easier to want some form of punishment for people who have created so much misery for others. Maybe two doses will prove more effective than one in bringing about this result.

Holy crap, what a ride. I've not been hooked watching two absolute monsters fall deeper and deeper into villainy in years and their ability to keep my jaw on the ground for three hours was so impressive.

Solid documentary, though it leans a little to heavily on absolving the "victims" of any responsibility for allowing themselves to be duped by a couple of snake oil salesmen. The one woman who goes to jail for ignoring a no contact order actually tries to act like she didn't stalk her ex. It's laughable and even the leaders call her out, thought they encouraged her to do so. As with all these cults, they seem to attract a certain type of person, sort of a self-loathing narcissist. These people hate themselves and are searching for ways to be "normal" and find relationships, but they're so conceited that it has to be everyone else who's blind to their value. Surely there's a conspiracy or secret pill that will enlighten everyone else in the world to how special they are and these cults fan those flames. In my mind, they carry more of the blame for allowing themselves to be duped out of their money and into terrible decisions. Still, solid entertainment. Why would I not be surprised if I found out that the two leaders financed both docs, lol.
