Breaking Bad

Taut, efficient and directed with a scalpel, Breaking Bad remains a marvel.

The show keeps delivering the kind of mind-expanding dramatic highs that ought to require a prescription.

The chemistry of every television show should have as rapid a half-life as Breaking Bad, transforming into something new while building off the critical elements of the past.

There is a genuine suspense and thrill to the show now, but it succeeds largely as a treatise not on the tragedy of cancer but on the sheer monotony of it, the relentless waiting around.

Breaking Bad promises seven compelling and unique hours of drama.

Breaking could be a good study of acting, since Cranston and Aaron Paul (as his partner, Jesse) get under the grimy skin of their characters. But there's not enough of the good stuff, like writing, directing, mood, cinematography--you get the point.

The simplest definition to this show in the literal sense is: "Broken and bad, yet perfect."

Extremely overrated. I would say watch the first season, and then you've seen what you need to see. It's clear the writers didn't have a plan after that. Cranston and Paul are fun to watch, but doesn't really have legs.

The most overrated show of all time. There are a BUNCH of new and old shows I would rate MUCH higher than this. I think the actors did great but the show has repetitive concepts and doesn’t add much outside of that. As the show gets deeper it becomes even harder to believe that a brilliant chemist could consistently have such poor judgement. By the end of it you forget how smart his character is supposed to be because he never acts like he’s brilliant.
