Sometimes, the best thing a show can do is deliver exactly what the viewers want — nothing more, nothing less. And that’s just what CBS does with Boston Blue. .... Lena and Danny quickly settle into a comfortable rhythm — as does the show.

Ultimately, it's a solid debut for Boston Blue. Despite the immense pressure, and frankly, skepticism, it's a good way to start a new show that is part of a known franchise — by balancing nostalgia and fresh content. At the very least, it's worth tuning again to next week.

I absolutely love watching Boston Blue. I like that it's an off shoot, if you will, of Blue Brothers. So far I like the story lines involving all the major characters. I don't think it's a big deal that the show is closely aligned to the original show. it's similar to NCIS having seven shows in their franchise. New characters same plot. i'm glad the Boston show has a more diverse team! I look forward to watching more episode!

This spin-off feels of a piece with “Blue Bloods” – police cases mixed with decent family relationship drama — so it should have similar appeal.

A thoughtful and well-paced police procedural, “Boston Blue” expands the “Blue Bloods” universe into a new city, without losing the essence of the original.

Work in progress, but at least the progress seems to be in the right direction.

The first episode of Boston Blue twists itself into storytelling knots to get Donnie Wahlberg’s Blue Bloods character working with the Boston PD, and the way the Silver family is constructed feels equally as contrived. That being said, it might still be a hit among viewers who miss Blue Bloods.

If you miss it, it’s OK, because the writing is such that the storyline gets reintroduced after every commercial break.

Disappointed! The Boston PD structure is too close (and therefore obviously contrived and unbelievable) to that of Blue Bloods. The Jewish/Black faith observances are subplots that make the series even more unbelievable. Its introduction is in sharp contrast to Blue Bloods Catholic observance and appears to be a one-upmanship move. Having a male patriarch sitting at the head of the table (like Frank in Blue Bloods) is further contrived. Danny tried too hard to be Danny, and yet the dialogue difn't support Danny. Danny's new partner is also unbelievable. She's too good, too quick, too all-knowing, to the point of near arrogance. Blue Bloods is believeable. Boston blue isn't because it appears to be too much of a copy. Maybe Boston Blue would be good for someone who has never watched Blue Bloods.

Walhberg does his best but the writers are all over the place. You've inserted Jewish Muslim and Catholics storylines and none of it means anything, no one cares. It's just idiotic to try and shove all this stuff into a cop show. We get it, we see exactly what you're trying to do, but we're not going to watch anymore. Also Sonequesoa (not sure how you spell it) needs to return to acting school because her performances are always laughably bad. The entire show is a reach and I blame: 1) the writers 2) casting dept 3) CBS for not realizing it's no longer 2020, this sh#t isn't going to fly anymore
