Mr. Morelli mixes live-action and animated scenes to good effect. He doesn’t have time to give his characters depth, but there’s pleasure in figuring out how they connect and pondering the movie’s modest themes.

Is there a point to all these cheeky meta-shenanigans? Not really. Yet it’s hard not to share Morelli’s delight in the possibilities of an impossible story structure, and if the final work feels inevitably uneven, that’s less a flaw than a feature — a testament to the visual and tonal distinctiveness of the movie’s individual parts.

Have you ever imagined what would happen if the A-ha Take On Me video were to become a feature film? Or just what would happen if you really let your imagination run away with itself? What happens when the fantasy worlds ,we choose to escape to, begin to collide and our ideal hero's and heroines are no longer the perfect ideals we have pictured them as but our plagued with their own inadequacies.... Matthew Hansen as Writer of the screenplay and Pedro Morelli as Director of 'Zoom!' have a lot of fun exploring these very things.Everything feels topsy turvy with a quirky ,jaunty music score fitting with the kooky shenanigans of these characters, all fighting for their very existence. Three storylines entwine and we can make that 4 ,as being the viewer we add an extra element. We find ourselves unraveling into an existential crisis that has us questioning are we all but a dream within a dream within a dream ..... A sweet, charming thoroughly engaging adventure.

Almost perfect acting, great direction, amazing visuals and an unique premise make this awful writing just watchable, you should give it a try anyway, you would take something on those aspects.

Though Zoom skillfully weaves together animation and live action, I was not stoned when I watched it, and I’m not a fan of plot-plot-plot. So it left me meh.

There's no way for all this to resolve that isn't fairly absurd. But Morelli's light touch generally keeps the goofiness from becoming tiresome, especially given the help of some quirktronica compositions by Kid Koala on the soundtrack.

Director Pedro Morelli's neon-and-grime aesthetic and a solid cast of mostly Canadian character actors (including a campy, animated Don McKellar and a creepy Michael Eklund) are the grounding factors.

There is an interesting film buried in Zoom, and it’s one to seek out if you’re a fan of more daring visual choices in film. It’s just a shame that the script couldn’t have matched the direction and visuals in its intriguing approach to world building.

A rather terrible comedy-satire, bears the DNA of at least two strains of terrible films.

Creative but in the end it tries but the story is too far-fetched for its own good and the performances are very simple.
