Just jumping around on Netflix, thought I'd give it a shot and I really enjoyed it. Shows good and bad with the German presence in Holland. The surprise ending was, I thought, well done.

Not only having a beautiful title and scene of white winter, "Winter In Wartime" successfully combines a touching War-melodrama with thriller elements. This film brings us to examine ourselves how to confront, betrayal and ally, courage and duplicity as surrounding us complexly.

This is the best film I have seen this year as of May 8th. Beautifully filmed, suspenseful, and full of hop and despair. I never saw the hook in the plot and thought the brutality of **** occupation was captured without excess. Excellent!

I wished teens watched this movie instead most of crap they normally watch, it shows the best side of being a teenager, courage, idealism and heart. "Winter in wartime" Good movie and very engaging, and although there's a glimmer of hope at the end, it was a little sad seeing the boy progress through the story and face the ugly realities of war, which seemed realistic and surprising at the same time. In addition, the role of **** during their occupation are neither romanticized nor exaggerated they seem realistic and for me that was important. I believe European movies of this time often have a distorted perspective and sometimes maybe unintentionally add their cultural bias to what happened.
