SummaryA sweetly quirky work that tells a story of love, art, robbery and photocopying. In combining magical realism and comedy, director Jorge Furtado creates a new cinematic vision that is propelled by a lively Brazilian soundtrack and a first-class ensemble cast. (TLA Releasing)

Manages to tackle some serious issues without sacrificing its inherently sweet nature.

An enjoyable ride.

There's at least one good movie in The Man Who Copied's 124 minutes, but Furtado never settles on it.

It's uneven, but still pretty charming, and director Jorge Furtado's whimsical visual touches keep things lively.

Two movies in one, but it's no bargain. A charming romantic comedy... transforms awkwardly into a hedonistic crime thriller, with the two genres violently butting heads.

Never better than fair to middling pleasant.

A sad, wasted movie.

One of the most underrated movies of all time. Charming, funny, critical, clever and very creative. Very few films can causes laugh and being intelligent at the same time. The Man Who Copied can. And what is even more impressive, isn't a Hollywoodian movie. And as it were little thing, it's a BRAZILIAN movie, getting away for the stigmas as "Brazilian films are bad", "Brazilian films are vulgar and pornographic", "Brazilian films only talks about ghetto". Brazil has great films, and this one proofs it masterfully.
