I thought it was entirely too on-the-nose, time and again, as it saunters towards a finale sure to surprise no one, even those it leaves feeling film-comfort-food satisfied at the end.

This Swedish import takes place in the real city of Kiruna, which was partially leveled by an earthquake in 2020. The creators of this film combined that incident with a mine-related earthquake from 1961 to create this hybrid disaster flick. It revolves around the mine's security manager (Tuva Novotny) as she tries to save the town from imminent calamity, which provides the only real scene with any thrills. When she sets out to save her own children, the film resorts to challenging personal rescues. The relationship issues between her and her husband and new lover ramps up the personal angle. The film starts promisingly enough, but falls constantly into completely predictable beats. Ultimately, it's a quickly-forgettable flick that sinks into its own trite plot and mildly-competent direction. (In Swedish with subtitles)
