Steve + Sky

For everyone who has been waiting on a movie in the Ghent dialect, your patience has paid off. Happily, Felix Van Groeningen's low-budget romance is also sly - if utterly superficial - fun.

Has more flavor than leftovers have a right to.

A mere slip of a movie, a wan character study of people who add up to little more than a series of studied quirks.

Stylish but shallow story.

Promising frosh helmer Felix van Groeningen exhibits a fresh eye, though his script is full of too many self-consciously Tarantino-ish verbal digressions that serve to distract from the story, and self-conscious quirks he mistakes for character development.

Sporadically entertaining and utterly shallow, Steve + Sky answers the age-old question of whether a star's blinding beauty can justify an otherwise bland movie.

HUGELY tedious and mostly incomprehensible.
