At 108 minutes, Staten Island Summer does wear thin around its middle, and it suffers from a conclusion that just never seems to know when to wind down for good, but it's an amusing feature that just might be destined for the kind of cult affection heaped on its ilk.

Staten Island Summer is a refreshingly old school coming-of-age comedy with just enough raunchiness, stoner humor and otherwise dubious behavior to divert movie audiences weaned on violated pies and superbad high jinks.

Honestly did not know what to expect from this movie... & it exceeded any expectations... especially because I had known... this was wonderfully acted... I like these simple coming of age type of films... with a bit of "National Lampoon's" type hyjinks.

I watched this movie on a Saturday while going through my file cabinet and stayed with it, The only reason I picked this movie out was because I am a huge fan of Graham Phillips from "The Good Wife", he is a great young talent. That being said I think he could make better choices in movies considering his talent and past history on his TV show. I would somewhat compare the storyline of this movie to a poor man's "The Way Way Back" which was a much better casted movie with a lot more merit. In the end there was some humor and decent dialouge to go along with the lame jokes. Felt like it was trying to imitate movies I have seen before and it was not being very original. So bottom line is if you can't find anything else to watch and don't want to put much thought into a movie this one would be OK to watch...especially if you are a teen.

A movie that won’t knock you out with originality but may charm you with its wit.

The best that can be said about teen sex comedy Staten Island Summer is that it goes down easy.

They don’t make movies that seem to purposefully waste the talents of current “SNL” stars much any more. Well, except for this one.

It all goes nowhere slowly, with only a few visual jokes to break the monotony.

Breaking the laws of human nature is an ancient comic convention, but it only works when it leads to a laugh.

To be fair, I didn't watch the movie because I couldn't get past the opening credits with that horrible song. Shame, because I really wanted to see some comedy and Ashely Greene, but again, that song, with the horrible disco beat and the David Byrne-esque cries. Yikes.
