Where Peter was yee-ha giddy with the discovery of his newfound powers in the first film, he's crushed by the weight of responsibility that comes with them in its far superior successor.

It's a real movie, full-blooded and smart, with qualities even for those who have no idea who Stan Lee is. It's a superhero movie for people who don't go to superhero movies, and for those who do, it's the one they've been yearning for.

I just watched this movie for a second time 22 years later and I thought it was sooooo good, very emotional I don’t remember it much so it was like watching it for the first time but as an adult. It was amazing!I decided to go on meta critic to see reviews stacked up across all 3 movies and was surprised the first one wasn’t rated higher but a lot of people claimed that number 2 was the best super hero movie. I agree! I haven’t watched all of the superhero movies they don’t interest me but I had an itch to watch this one for some reason, probably nostalgic. I was blown away at how good this movie was the action and effects are amazing, it’s perfect just like a rating of 10/10, which it deserves. Definitely worth a watch even if you watched it when it came out, it’s sad they don’t make movies like this anymore!

Spider-Man 2, released two years after the original, surpasses its predecessor as a standout superhero film. Sam Raimi returns with his distinctive visual style, blending action, humor, and emotion while following Peter Parker as he struggles with his responsibilities as a hero, his personal life, and financial pressures. The film introduces Otto Octavius, whose AI-controlled mechanical arms transform him into the formidable Doc Octopus, creating memorable and thrilling confrontations, particularly in the hospital and subway sequences. Despite some dated CGI and occasional issues with Mary-Jane’s character, the story is cohesive, the characters are well-developed, and Raimi’s direction delivers one of the best superhero sequels ever, solidifying it as the highlight of the trilogy.

A lot of talent to lavish on a single movie, but the result is uncommonly smart for the genre, and not just smart but tremendously enjoyable.

Raimi doesn't make the mistake of over-thinking the flimsy psychology of the genre. All this conflicted-hero stuff isn't meant to be profound; instead, it's there for the same reason as everything else -- to give the action (the interior action in this case) a healthy shot of pop energy.

It’s easily the best movie of the summer so far. Sony has obviously given Raimi more freedom to run the show, and the results are very entertaining.

Although Sam Raimi's direction is generally solid (and, in some scenes, flawless), the film's middle act has instances when it seems repetitive and exposition-heavy.

As much as I enjoy Spidey's high-flying Cheez-Doodle swoops through the skyscraper canyons of a digitally rearranged midtown Manhattan, I get no kick from his angst, especially since in this incarnation, as opposed to the '60s comic book version, he's more innocuously depressed than defensively paranoid.

"Spider-Man 2" is still the best superhero ever made. The fact that this was completely ignored on the New York Times 100 Best of 21st Century for some average MCU film like "Black Panther" is just disgraceful.

İlk defa izlediğimde puanlasam daha yüksek puan alacağı kesin ama önceden defalarca izlemiş biriyseniz benim gibi pek tavsiye etmiyorum.

This movie has dazzling effects and action, but I'm sorry, I can't help but be annoyed by how stupid Peter has become, how even more **** Mary Jane has come, and how idiotic Harry is thinking that just because Peter takes pictures of Spider-Man, automatically means that Peter knows who Spider-Man is. It also doesn't help that Spider-Man's powers disappear for no realistic biological reason. I can't believe people just gloss over these flaws.
