Given the number of songs worked into the script, there’s a music video quality to the film. If you’re looking for some lighthearted distraction from the worries of the world right now, however, give Sing 2 a shot.

The result is a breezy exercise in karaoke for kids, where the soundtrack beats the movie and a lot of stars again lend their voices to the chorus.

Filme muito foda, músicas que fazem você arrepiar, cenas que te fazem chorar e todos, TODOS os personagens são carismáticos e memoráveis

It can’t be denied that as a piece of cover-all-bases, hi-sheen, lo-thought, built-to-order corporate product, the film runs with a steady and satisfying whirr.

Sing 2 feels like a relic from another era. And oddly, a relic that really wants to sell you on U2 songs.

The movie surrounding the tunes isn’t all that, despite Illumination’s dazzling, colorful animation.

The pacing is so frenetic that audiences will likely never have more than a millisecond to appreciate the textures or the visual spectacle of a shot before it’s already zipped ahead to the next sequence, always another song and dance to see, even if it’s woefully hard to actually enjoy.

The whole of this film was to say the least very impressive. The storyline really built up well and the characters were vibrant as they usually are.

Well-animated, well-written, decent characters, good songs, neat vibe... So why did I give it a middling rating? Here's why: THE PLOT IS QUITE LITERALLY EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE FIRST MOVIE. The only difference is that some of the more interesting characters' personalities were split into multiple characters, making the plot and characters even more one-sided. It's well-made, and if you enjoyed the first you may enjoy this one even more. But I don't usually care when a movie is a bit derivative. This one I do, because it's just... so... blatant. High quality, low creativity.

Really a missed opportunity. After your first watch or even in it you will start to notice that the movie leaves you with strange questions that will never get answered. The emotional scenes were completely cut off, leaving the bland plot and few jokes on the spotlight. The whole story flashes with the speed of light making you just marvel at the oversaturated scenes without feeling something. If they gave more time for developing of the movie I think that they would have fixed the issues, but at the end of the day-business is business.

It felt like the plot of Sing 2 existed to give the film an opportunity to squeeze in hit pop tunes rather than those songs being in the movie as a way to advance the plot. This is the film's biggest issue as the characters all feel one dimensional and impossible to connect with. The constant pop music also really took me out of the movie. At times it felt more like listening to the radio than watching a film. The animation is also extremely standard for Illumination as it fails to make any improvements over its predecessor in this vein. I laughed at a few of the jokes, but the comedy was generally very simplistic and underwhelming. Overall, this is a fine movie to watch with the family, but it certainly isn't up to par with the best animated films of the year(Encanto, The Mitchells vs The Machines, Luca).
