She Came to Me is beautifully performed and directed with great charm, unexpected wisdom, and sweetness.

We’re invited to laugh at what we’re seeing, yet Miller works in such a heartfelt and unassuming way that we’re never standing outside the quirks.

As an avid movie-goer, I was apprehensive when I read about Carrell and Amy Schumer and Nicole Kidman backing out. But what a joy! I was not familiar with Rebecca Millers work, but plan on looking into her other films now. What a Joy of a movie. Hilarious actually. Making fun of psychology, Psychiatry *and oh yes "art") is a slippery slope. And oh, what the heck, mix stalking and statutory **** into the mix. This bizarre premise is likely what ticked off the professional critics so much. And it does "Read" just awful. But as the movie cleverly makes fun of theatre, psychiatry and even parent hood, I found myself laughing hysterically. Dinklage used his well-known ability to emote with just his expressions and combined it with a sometimes furtive, sometimes caring, sometimes angst-ridden "asrtiste!" persona and had us hooting. Forget what the critics say. Go all in on this one. "Let" yourself enjoy it.

The combination of a first-rate cast, a rippling, frequently witty score and a highly-strung, madcap plot — which itself wouldn’t be out of place in a comic opera — makes for a quirky, offbeat spin on the relationship drama.

She Came to Me lacks the palpable chemistry of a rom-com and the sobering relatability of a Nicole Holofcener dramedy, but it does find moments of inspiration thanks to its A-lister cast.

This is dicey material for a screwball comedy, even one with dark undertones, and despite the best efforts of the ensemble, She Came to Me drifts further and further away from anything approaching reality or relatability. Nearly every major character in this film is exhausting to be around and/or thinly drawn.

The fatal flaw of the film is that it genuinely believes in the discreet charm of the bourgeoisie.

I snorted with genuine laughter, hard, at this film’s closing notion of what being a comedy even is.

Peter Dinklage plays an opera composer with writers block until he meets a tugboat captain (Marisa Tomei). Meanwhile, his relationship with his clean-obsessed psychiatrist wife (Anne Hathaway) is troubled. Writer/director Rebecca Miller has created an appealing story with interesting characters and engaging situations. The fine performance add to the quality. This type of simple but smart filmmaking isn't common these days, which makes this movie a delightful little charmer.

I hate to to use the term "artsy-fartsy," but She Came to Me is the kind of indie film that displays excessive self-consciousness about its artistic aspirations and seeks to give the impression that its plot is more "intellectual" than it really is, wandering aimlessly without being able to find not only what it wants to say but where it wants to **** trio of lead actors comprising Peter Dinklage, Marisa Tomei and Anne Hathaway manage to keep this from falling apart and it is they who will get the audience's attention to want to see it, although there is little common ground in both the dramatic and humorous aspects of this story to make it stand out in any way.
