It's hard to over sell a movie that is so supremely confident in writing and direction. Despite an almost audience-annihilating run time of nearly two and a half-hours, it is consistently absorbing.
A scintillating piece of filmmaking, the kind of movie you look forward to seeing again even as you're watching it, and an extraordinary response to both the Dogs-Is-Overrated brigade and the He'll-Never-Top-His-Debut sceptics.

La claque Même si j'avais vu quelques bouts de scène et les mêmes du film, je ne savais pas à quoi m'attendre. Le film a mis des bases d'un film de gangster assez classique pour encore mieux nous prendre à contrepied. Le film se savoure pendant 2h30 sans nous laisser un moment de répit pour faire ce qu'il fait de mieux. La musique du film, c'est tellement des classiques que ça m'a fait plaisir de les entendre comme si j'étais nostalgique. Cela aide aussi à me faire aimer cette esthétique digne des années 90 qui est assez particulière. Le découpage assez particulier du film le rend encore plus particulier et c'est cette chose qui me fait regretter de ne pas avoir pu le voir en 94 au cinéma (ça et le fait que je n'étais pas né).

Each scene is filled with meaning and unexpected turns, which keeps you in suspense from the first to the last minute. Stylish direction, excellent acting and an unpredictable plot make this film a true masterpiece of cinema. It makes you think about morality, fate and the randomness of life. "Pulp Fiction" is a movie that is worth watching again and again, because it deserves a rating of 10 out of 10 for its originality and depth.

Very satisfying. Classic storytelling, modern techniques. And the images: This movie has embedded so many strange and new mental pictures in my head that I'm not able to shake free. Yet, neither would I want to be free.
Like "Citizen Kane," Pulp Fiction is constructed in such a nonlinear way that you could see it a dozen times and not be able to remember what comes next.
Quentin Tarantino's latest movie puts an epic spin on a favorite genre, taking it to time-tripping levels rarely tested by its forerunners.
The writer-director appears to be straining for his effects. Some sequences, especially one involving bondage harnesses and homosexual rape, have the uncomfortable feeling of creative desperation, of someone who's afraid of losing his reputation scrambling for any way to offend sensibilities. 6/10 temp rating. Re-Watch. Lack of understanding. Multiple references seen in other shows/movies. Felt like I was left hanging.

I'm about to say the words that no one dares saying: Pulp Fiction ****. Look, I can like films with just talking. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is one of my favorite films, and that's all they do. But at least in that movie, what they were talking about was interesting and funny. Pulp Fiction is neither. It's just people talking with nothing to back it up. Not even the outrageous and shocking scenes don't hit that hard. You don't care about anything, you don't laugh, you don't get excited, you don't feel ANYTHING. At least the plot comes around in an interesting way and there are some memorable moments. But one is for sure. I don't believe this movie is one of the greatest films of all-time.
