Poor Things never gets dogmatically bogged down — it prefers a swifter, Swiftian attack on bygone mores regarding sex that still don’t feel bygone enough — but whether you dig the manner in which this pilgrim’s progress is presented may be a matter of taste.

Gorgos Lanthimos has created a really good film experience with Poor Things. He succeeded in telling a modern Frankenstein story that is completely reinterpreted and is by no means just a copy of the previously known films with this motif. The equipment used on costumes, colors and scenes are shrill, but never too exaggerated or intrusive. They give the film a special character that also differentiates it from the previous Frankenstein films. Emma Stone rightly got an Oscar with her performance.

Visually a beautiful movie. The unique sets will have you intrigued in the movie. The story or the take on Frankenstein is interesting, I liked it. The middle drags a bit and goes on maybe too long.Emma Stone does well in the movie, definitely moved past the doing nude in movies. Jk.
Deeply unsettling, and while I'm told that's the point, I still don't agree with a film about child exploitation being presented as a feminist masterpiece. There are heavy notes of arthouse pretentiousness and hollow pseudo-intellectualism that try to disguise pedophilic material as tasteful, and I don't buy it.
