This film should not be included in the Police Story franchise. It's a completely different animal. When compared with Police Stories 1 through 4, you wonder where all the action went. Jackie Chan has made numerous statements regarding editing, specifically, how editing can impair the flow of a fight. But it can also impair the flow of a story. The amount of cuts between characters and props in a single conversation beggars belief. How am I supposed to process character emotions or read text on a sign when your jumping back and forth between the same 5 shots in the span of 10 seconds? Trust me: it's a sin committed too many times to count in this film. Jackie's over 60 in this film, so it's no surprise he wants to cut back on the action a bit. The problem is, when he has a kick*ss fight using a ladder to fend of a dozen men with sticks in Police Story 4: First Strike, you wonder how in the world that movie and this are in any way related (aside, of course, for the fact that he's a cop). So, what now? Is every future Jackie Chan cop movie going to be shoe-horned into this franchise? For goodness' sake: the main character doesn't even have the same name! And don't even get me started about how nonsensical the plot is for the first hour and fifteen minutes.

Messy and lazy!its worst in series although the 2nd half was entertaining and intense,the music was good,acting was decent but the connection with the characters was missing,the story was weak at start it was like build-up for some surprise and the reveal at 2nd half was shocking and amazing although the whole 1st half was like WTF is going on it was like random stuff happening right from the start and top of that the constant flashbacks was confusion AF it was like is it real or assumption!the serious and dark theme was Joke and not a single laugh as per its a police story and above that story full of crap its **** starting intro to JC after so many years the proper cover-up of events until time it was missing so it was like just random thing happening the Daughter's meeting at hotel and the boyfriend thing and the stupid **** make-up and all it was **** heat was on from the bar fight rescue scene but the cause for it was surprise for later until then the investigation and all it was like joke it was utter **** fight scenes of antagonist at flash-backs were okay but disgusting to look and top of that the later unnecessary cage fight of JC was worst although as per age of JC it was decent but seriously the whole series was amazing in action department but this was disappointment in **** things get exciting from the Chan went to get criminal from outside then the whole one-by-one release of innocents and the main thing the drama at the end with past things was intense and dark,the story's of everyone at store and then the main thing about depression of antagonist's sister on top of that her Boy-friend reveal it was pure surprising and amazing it was literally best reveal for **** build-up,then the break-in and fight was exciting and the Train track drama with the JC almost shoot himself it was insane and amazing,the ending was great,extra rating for the ending and last half's entertaining things leaving all that the whole movie was garbage and mess it will be like 2/10,Overall its a Average Okay movie!
