It's a bit strange to say that if you watch this film, the only joy you will have in it, is that you saw a pretty solid drama.
Yes, it does have mistakes and the narrative is not the most agile, but it works. But I say this because this is a very serious drama that lives most of its time in an environment of sadness and desolation. Kathleen Hepburn deserves my respect because with very little she achieved a lot and that is not always easy.
This film is far from perfect but definitely if you take into account that it's her directorial debut and that it has more quality than many other commercialized films, without a doubt it is an option that deserves the attention.
